We have some serious news to share with you and we have the proof for that news, which we will also share with you. You may forward this letter on and share it with friends, but we have just one request. Please recopy this letter and don't forward it on with our name and contact information because what we are going to share with you is classified information. (We need to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves, according to the Bible, and we need to protect each other.) The Bible says that God will do nothing without first letting His servants know (Amos 3:7). We believe that God is allowing this information to be leaked out so that His people can prepare. Last week I spoke with a friend who told me that due to the shaky economy we are going into a major depression, the stock market is going to crash, the banks are going to close for 3-5 months, and when the banks re-open our money will be gone as the FDIC will not be able to cover it all. When people find out they have lost their money there is going to be major civil unrest and so martial law will be declared. According to the law put into effect just last year, the President has the power to declare martial law for any emergency that he feels is a threat to the nation, and if this happens close to election time, the election will be canceled or postponed and the current president will stay in power. The Constitution will also be suspended. This is all going to happen this September or shortly thereafter. I asked her where she got this information as I wanted to make sure this information is accurate before I send it out to all of you. She got it from a godly Christian physician, so I contacted him and asked him for his source. He told me that he had three sources. 1) A patient of his, who had over 1 million in the bank, just recently took all of his money out of the bank over several weeks due to being told by his banker, who had just retired, that the banks are going to close and everyone will lose their money, just like in the 1930's. 2) This physician decided this needed to be shared, so he wrote a newsletter and shared it. One of his patients, who is a builder, received this newsletter, and shared it with the homeowner of the house he was constructing, who happened to be a state policeman. This man read this newsletter in a very surprised manner and said, "Where did you get this information? You are not supposed to have this, this is classified material." After some thought he said, "If you follow all the recommendations written here, you will 'maybe' survive, since there is major trouble coming soon. I know all about this, because our Captain has informed us about this coming event." 3) The wife of a soldier currently serving in Iraq was called by their base commander and told to go to a certain place at the base where she was given 100 pound sacks of rice, beans, and enough food for several months. She told them that she could not carry that much and did not need that much. The Captain replied, "You will need this and don't tell the civilians about this. The Army always takes care of its own." 4) This additional source does not come from this physician but from an SDA pastor who is stating that Pentagon wives are being told that soon something big is going to happen and when it does, they will only have 2 hours to get out of the cities as the cities are going to be shut down and no one will be able to get in or out. This is why you need to get out of the major cities now, but if you absolutely can't, at least have your car packed with what you need so that when this major something happens, that you too can flee fast as you won't have time to pack. 5) This is another source in addition to this physician. Here is what this physician said to do to prepare. (We have added some additional advice for preparation also.)

1) Obtain the needed spiritual preparation. The only way we will survive this is if we have God's protection, and the only way to have God's protection is to make sure that your lives are right with God. Plead with Him to show you what you need to change in your life. Make everything right in your life with God and man. Spend time with God daily in prayer and Bible study. Ask Him to show you what to do to be ready. Claim His promises. Here's some. "For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me; He shall set me up upon a rock." Psalm 27:5 More promises are in the entire chapters of Psalm 34 and Psalm 91. "My God shall supply all your need, according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19 For those whose lives are right with Him, His promises are sure and He will fulfill them for us. God does not make promises that He does not keep. His word is sure.

2) Get out of the large cities and move to a smaller one. Have a garden and grow as much of your own food as possible. Buy your seeds NOW for 3 years and keep them in your freezer. (According to Daniel chapter 12, the Great Tribulation lasts 3 ½ years.) When we no longer have electricity, put powdered milk in the bottom fourth of a canning jar (absorbs moisture) and then fill the jar with seed packets. Screw the lid on tight and keep in the coolest part of your home. (Buy the canning jars and powdered milk now. Any supplies you think you will need, buy now.) We had two friends consult with us yesterday. They both have mortgages they will not be able to pay off which means they will lose their homes in the coming economic collapse (this is what happened during the Great Depression). We advised them to buy a used RV asap and have it stocked and ready to go. Pray and ask God to show you where He wants you to go and when He wants you to leave. You need to have a plan. The ideal is to find a Christian friend who lives in the country who owns their property free and clear and who will let you park your RV. If you can't afford an RV, get a tent or find a friend who will let you move in with them. Eventually, we will have to flee even our homes in the country. Have a small pack packed for that time with essentials. Enclosed as an attachment is a guide to what to put in your "survival pack."

3) Have a least three months' supply of food and water. The food needs to be non perishable staples like beans and rice. If you have any Mormons or Amish near you, they can tell you where to buy large sacks of rice and beans. Or just start stocking up from the grocery store. You need to stock up asap—no time to order and wait for your order to come in. So just buy it wherever you can get it from fast. If you buy large sacks of rice and beans, repackage them in double bagged plastic bags (gallon size with the twist ties are cheapest), and then put them in a plastic storage bin (available at Walmart) with diatomaceous earth (available at gardening centers) sprinkled around the bags (this kills bugs—also kills bugs on your garden so stock up). Keep these bins in a place where they will freeze during the winter and be in the heat in the summer as this will freeze and boil the weevils out. To store water, buy large plastic garbage cans, line with the most durable garbage bag, and fill with water.

4) Move your savings, IRA's, and investment funds out of the banking system. Get out of the stock market. Otherwise you will be throwing your money away. DO THIS NOW. Time is of the essence. We are being asked, "What do we do with our money?" About money, Jesus said, "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal; But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal; For where your treasure is, will your heart be also." (Matthew 6:19-21) So, put some of your money in the gospel and save some for your families' needs. How much of each? We can't tell you. Pray and ask God and He will show you. One good thing to do with your money is to stock up on religious books to pass out as when these things happen, people's only hope is in God, and they will need you to share with them. The best book we have found for this is Shelter in the Storm available by the case (60 books in a case) for $16, including shipping, from Harvest Time Books, available from

www.harvestimebooks.com or by calling 931-692-2777. You can obtain many other Christian books from them at extremely low prices as well. Shelter in the Storm contains Steps to Christ (a book that tells how to have a close walk with God), 60 pages from Great Controversy ( which tells what is soon to come so no one will be deceived), as well as a chapter showing how we need to keep God's law if we truly love Him. All critical information that people need to know to have a close walk with God is in this book. For the money you want to save, you will have to hide it well. Enclosed is an attachment that tells you how to do that. When you try to get your money out of the bank, you will find out that the noose is already tightening as they make it hard to get large amounts of money out. Any amount of money taken out as cash in the amount of $10,000 or more and the banks are required by law to tell the authorities that you have done so (they say this is to stop the criminals and drugs). So take out less than that amount at a time and if you have more than that in the bank, you will have to take it out at different times. If you have to do multiple withdrawals, to go different bank locations and/or different tellers. To take cash out in amounts more than $1000 you have to have two forms of ID, including your check card.
5) Get a wood burning stove for heating. If you are planning on living in an RV, get a very small wood stove and install it in your RV. We know of someone who did just that.

6) Those who have their children in the public or private schools, beware, this strike may take place on a Thursday or Friday and your children will be bussed to a "safe haven" without your knowledge and kept there for an undetermined length of time for "their safety."

7) Avoid traveling in September, 2008 as barriers and check points will be erected. Those who do not have their papers or are on their round-up list will be imprisoned, exiled, enslaved, or decapitated. Yes, they do have such a list as we have read from several sources about this list. Interestingly, we know that some of these sources do not know about the other sources, making what they say more credible. They have a red list (those to be executed immediately) and a blue list (those to be put in concentration camps for "re-education.") These people will probably not survive either. Those most likely to be on the round-up list are those deemed the most likely to be leaders in protests against martial law and Christian leaders. (Remember, we have been told "Transgression has almost reached its limit. Confusion fills the world, and a great terror is soon to come upon human beings. The end is very near. We who know the truth should be preparing for what is soon to break upon the world as an overwhelming surprise." Testimonies, vol. 8, p. 28.) Here's an excerpt from this website where they tell where they got this information from. "Mr. Sea is a former inspector for the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Department of Defense. Here Mr. Sea elaborates on the 'RED and BLUE Lists' and what they mean. The RED List is for pick-up and execution before unobtrusive preparations for martial law are initiated. The BLUE List is also for execution, but later, within 6 weeks of martial law declaration. When you get picked up on a RED pick-up, they'll take you from your home at night, probably around 4 am and put you in a black van, then drive you to a helicopter waiting to fly you to an intermediate point. There, you'll be loaded onto a big 64-passenger CH-47 Chinook helicopter and fly you to one of 38 cities where you'll board a 747, 737, or 727. You may be taken straight to a red camp and executed. At some point, martial law will be declared. Martial law is when the writ of Habeas Corpus to have a trial by jury is suspended. Instead, of going to the judge, you go straight to jail. At this point, the BLUE listed people will be picked up. At that time, the country will be regionalized into ten regions, which are already designated by FEMA. The black choppers have state-of-the-art radio (RF) frequency wideband jammers, and can jam cell phones and CBs while they're executing black operations missions. This means that your cell phone could be jammed just before and/or during any action against you. In June of 1996, an FBI agent got hold of the Region Three BLUE List (from a CIA agent), and found his own name on it, and those of several others he knew in Virginia. The Regional BLUE List stated that the names on the BLUE List would be picked up 'within six weeks of the actual martial law declaration.' It will work if the 300,000 Soviet troops which are ALREADY HERE can get the guns. The ones doing all of this are operating out of the highest places in the Federal Government. They're cooperating with spirit guides and mediums and using astrology and numerology. The spirit guides are telling them what to do, and the entire thing is being orchestrated at the highest spiritual levels. Every base has been covered. They've thought of everything. They often do things on the 13th of the month." What makes the above believable to us is that over 10 years ago we obtained a video from SDA Pastor Jan Marcussen (still available in his CCA video series by calling 618-627-2357) in which a retired SDA colporteur told how he stumbled across these same red and blue lists many years ago. The authorities are obviously planning on a large number of people dying soon as we have been receiving reports and photographs of places around the country where large numbers of cheap plastic coffins are being stored. Remember God's promises. Memorize them.)
7) Plan to have several families living under one roof. If your place is free and clear, reach out to those who will need a place and take them in. Another idea is for several families to live together and together make the mortage payments on one place or to pool money and together buy a place free and clear. Remember the following promise. "The widow of Zarephath shared her morsel with Elijah, and in return her life and that of her son were preserved. To all who, in time of want and trial, give sympathy and assistance to others more needy, God has promised great blessing. He has not changed." (Prophets and Kings p. 132) Read this entire story in the Bible in 1 Kings chapter 17 as this chapter is a real faith strengthener. God will take care of His people during this time as He took care of Elijah when Elijah was persecuted.)

8) During the coming Great Tribulation, we think that nuclear warfare is a real possibility. To learn how to protect yourself, cheaply and easily, go to

9) The Bible says that there will be end time plagues (Psalm 91). But God promises in this psalm to protect His people. However, we do need to live as healthy as we can. A vegan diet, with at least 50% of it being raw fruits and vegetables, strengthens one's immune system more than any other diet. Go to

This physician says DO NOT take these vaccinations as they will harm you. Do your best to hide during this time. You may need to get a tent and temporarily escape into the wilderness. If, however, they are forced on you, come home and immediately take large doses of charcoal to overcome the effects. The above newsletter also tells you about the use of charcoal, where to get it, and how to take it. (This physician stated that they will leave the country during this time and advised getting a passport. However, we're not sure one will be able to leave.)
10) Pray earnestly for the latter rain of God's Holy Spirit.

Again, PLEASE do not be afraid. God's promises are sure.

DAY 1:

"Oh, that men would praise the LORD for His goodness and for His wonderful works to the children of men. For He satisfieth the longing soul and filleth the hungry soul with goodness." Psalms 107:8, 9

When we praise God He is able to do much more for us. So praise Him and claim His promises. He will not let you down, as long as you are on His side and your life is right with Him.

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mine." 2 Timothy 1:7

During the coming Great Tribulation, we will be repeating the history of the Israelites as they traveled from Egypt to Canaan. Study up on this trip by reading the Bible and also Patriarchs and Prophets (available from Harvest Time Books). Everything they went through, we will go through, but note how God performed mighty miracles to save them. Also note that when they lost their lives unnecessarily was when they didn't follow God. We will repeat their history, but this time we must not have the failings that they had. Their biggest failure was that of "unbelief" and "complaining." Remember, at the beginning of their journey they had a great crisis. The Red Sea was before them, mountains were on both sides, and the Egyptians (worldly enemies) were behind them. They had no way of escape. "He brought them down to the Red Sea—where, pursued by the Egyptians, escape seemed impossible—that they might realize their utter helplessness, their need of divine aid; and then He wrought deliverance for them. Thus they were filled with love and gratitude to God and with confidence in His power to help them." (Patriarchs and Prophets, p. 371) So, at the beginning of our journey during the Great Tribulation, we too will face a great crisis with "no way of escape" from a human standpoint. But those who stay obedient to God's commands and keep their faith in Him will see God work in a mighty way to deliver them. Yes, some will go to prison, some will be martyred, and some will have to flee to the rocks and the mountains—but whatever category you are in, be assured that God has chosen the best for you and He will strengthen you, give you courage and grace, He will be with you, and He will hold your hand. We can totally trust Him, like a child trusts their parent.

"Jesus sees the end from the beginning. In every difficulty He has His way prepared to bring relief. Our heavenly Father has a thousand ways to provide for us, of which we know nothing." (Desire of Ages, p. 330)

Day 2: "Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not; behold your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; He will come and save you." Isaiah 35:4

Day 3Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will shew to you today. The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace." Exodus 14:13-14

God is 'able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think." Ephesians 3:20

Day 4: "Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid, for the LORD thy God, He it is that doth go with thee; He will not fail thee nor forsake thee." Deuteronomy 31:6

Day 6: "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you; For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." Matthew 7:7-8

"Wait on the LORD; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart; wait, I say, on the LORD." Psalm 27:14

Day 7: "For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but My kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of My peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee." Isaiah 54:10

Day 8: "Nevertheless I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to kept hat which I have committed unto Him against that day." 2 Timothy 1:12

Day 9: Pray for the mind of Jesus. "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." Philippians 2:5

(in other words, don't worry); but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7
Day 11: "LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power; help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in Thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail against Thee." 2 Chronicles 14:11

Day 12: "These signs shall follow them that believe. In My name shall they cast out devils, they shall speak with new tongues, they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing,,, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then am I strong." 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Day 24: "Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith." Mark 11:23

SURVIVING MARTIAL LAW

* Prepare before any declaration of martial law by becoming self reliant. You may become subject to a bureaucratic system and be prepared to stay one step ahead of it which is easy to do if you are prepared and in a position to be self reliant. You may also face mob rule, chaos, panic, or a complete breakdown in law and order. Surival situations may be easier to handle in rural areas than urban.

* Avoid areas of marital law. Can be imposed due to natural disasters or man caused events. Important to have a retreat or place in a rural area away from populated areas.

* Create alliances with like minded neighbors or community members that share your views. Team work and numbers may help your situation.

* Become transparent in the sense that you do not draw attention to yourself or your family. For instance, do not tell people that you are storing food just store food. Be prepared to render assistance to neighbors if need be. You never know when you will need them.

* Remain calm! Do not panic.

* Avoid areas of civil unrest if possible. If caught in civil unrest take appropriate action.

* Get informed and stay informed. Understand martial law can be a temporary crisis or an extended one. In extreme cases the shape of a whole nation can change.

* Declaration of martial law means your rights are suspended and it is government by decree. Your constitutional rights may no longer apply. This could mean a state of National Emergency.

* People can be arrested and imprisoned indefinitely without charges.

* Freedom of speech and freedom of assembly can be suspended, and censorship of the media imposed.

What Martial Law might look like in the United States

First, martial law has been looked at in several films, etc. Along with this, no one really knows exactly what it would mean as the way it would take hold would differ depending on the circumstances. But under the aforementioned- Muslim terrorists targeting seven major cities with nuclear bombs and then attacking suburbs outside the explosive areas - we could expect at least some of the following.

Curfew - A curfew before dark would no doubt be imposed. The reasons are obvious: If the military is in an area, they want to ask as little questions as possible when they see someone outside, and in darkness this feeling would be tenfold.

Further, when the military is in charge fun will be less paramount. In other words, the government and soldiers won't want to deal with people out after dark.

Employment to continue soon - Initially, all activity would likely cease if a nuclear bomb were to be set off in or near an area. That said, once the threat of injury due to fallout was lifted, the government would want to get people back to work as soon as possible.

In other words, we all need work to survive and that's exactly what the country would want to do: Survive.

Rations - The military just might end up in charge of rationing out food and supplies, if needed in the area, during a period of Martial Law.

Military Tribunals - Don't expect a standard jury and trial during such times. A trial? Yes, in a way at least. Basically, members of the military ( a military commission ) would meet to determine a lawbreakers fate during a Martial Law period and this would happen swiftly.

Further, the public would have to expect much more severe penalties for lawbreaking (particularly for those offenses that could in any minor way be tied to violence or, of course, terrorism).

In other words, if you were found to be a terrorist under military rule. . . Well, let's face it: The government would probably pass a law putting these people to death.

And remember, during such times the military would not act like local police. In other words, they would probably give possible lawbreakers only one shot before shooting on site if that.

Security - With security the number one directive, expect that leaving a city/ area by car would be an ordeal. We're talking akin to getting into Canada (actually, a lot worse). Thus, travel, beyond to places of employment, would be severely restricted (possibly by permit only?).

Detention Camps - Some might not like to hear this but detention camps would clearly be warranted if such a thing were to occur. Back on November 13, 2001 the President issued a military order involving the detention, treatment, and trial of certain non-citizens in the war against terrorism. Basically, this order said that the government could detain non-citizens reasonably suspected of being a terrorist or harboring them (as long as they were treated humanely in these detention centers).

Further, there would be a trial (by military commission). In other words, much like the Military Tribunals spoken of earlier.

Beyond this, it is quite clear that the United States has considered such detention situations as Halliburton's former engineering and construction subsidiary has a contingency contract with the Department of Homeland Security to construct detention facilities in the case of national emergency (according to WorldNetDaily).

An ICE spokesman (ICE being the former subsidiary) further indicated that the detention centers would be used in the event of a mass migration crisis. Along with this, it is very hard to know how many people might be detained in such a manner (but guess on nearly every Muslim with any known tie whatsoever to terrorist states being locked up until things can be sorted through). Thus, taking everything into account, we're probably talking about tens of thousands.

The problem with detention - Obviously under such circumstances the United States would have to detain several non-citizens as was noted earlier. Further, if we're going to be honest, many of them would be Muslims (again, this was noted earlier). But consider this: What if some of our own citizens were helping the terrorists?

OK I am now terrified!

I am a natural 'NESTER'. I begin organizing for trips months a head of time. I start packing weeks before our scheduled departure. When we begin our trip, I always carry a large trip book stuffed with maps, contingency plans, trip schedules and itineraries, hotels reservations, ect. I leave as little to chance as possible. It is my nature.

Months ago, I started feeling that things were soon to get difficult. My husband and I started discussing what we should start stocking up on so that we could take care of our family (4 kids and various close friends). We each then went to God separately and prayed for guidance. I prayed about food stuff and energy needs. E prayed about weapons and tools and various minor repairs on our home.....

We came back together with the same answer, "Don't rely upon the things of the world, but put your trust in God!"
Despite our faith in our Lord, this disconserted us greatly. We were ready and willing to go 'survival" E feels that he has been waiting for this his whole life, but we both distincty heard,"NO! Do not stock up on anything!"

I tested the Lord several ways, with:
It couldn't hurt anything to put away a few things, what if........

1. a normal run of the mill natural disaster hit. Ivan brought trees down in our yard, Katrina keft us sans power for a week.
2. Nuclear disaster: Alabama has two nuclear power plants north of us, a spill would contaminate the Tennesse Tombigbee waterway besides which our town sits. We live a few hundred yards above the Warrior River.
3. a general chemical spill at Americhem. we live a two hundred yards from their front door, but own property several miles away as well.

But God very emphatically ,' NO!"

Even though it goes against both of our natures, we are doing NOTHING in the physical to get ready for the tribulation as far as stocking up. ( we are ,however, doing everything as far as looking to God for provision) I keep thinking about the Israelite's Manna. Those that stored it up on any day other than the Sabbath found it rotten when they went to use it.

I said all that to say this......Do not listen to me or anyone else that is telling you to do this or that. Go to God and find out what he wants YOU to do. Above all, DO NOT BE AFRAID. Everything that you do, DO IN FAITH.

Also, E and I are pre-tribbers. We firmly believe that at the appointed time, the Lord will come back for his Bride, I hope to go with my children in that move. E, however, feels that the Lord has called him to stay behind and work to help those LEFT behind. For just that possibility, I have transferred property that I inherited to his name so that He will not have any trouble collecting the income when I disappear.

I do not doubt that much of what was quoted is true. But like many things it requires discernment. This is a huge problem when truth is mixed with fiction such as the above quote which I don't quite get. Of course the Soviet Union died in 1991. Also, if this thing is being implemented by the Federal Government what is the problem with the getting of guns? They waiting for their permits to be approved? Something doesn't quite seem right about this...

Well being ready, and watching is a great thing (living in California we always have stuff because of earthquakes), but about this thread; how can 300,000 russian troops already be here? Wouldn't they stick out like sore thumbs, and they are polite enough to wait until they are already here, to buy and apply for gun permits, and then guns before they overtake a country of 300 million? And our government is using mediums in touch with spirit guides to orchestrate this with numberology? I'm sorry. I prayed about this in sincerity...especially considering the current financial crisis in our country and do believe I received a word from the Lord concerning the main article..."paranoia" was the word I heard.
This is not an attack or rebuke against the original OP...just speaking honestly.

My husband and I do believe there will be a time in the near future when we will be preparing, but not until we receive that word from the Lord. We also believe in post-trib.

...and I want to say this...I don't consider it wrong to have some supplies on hand for minor emergencies or to aid others in their time of need...but not to panic if you can't do that.

From all of the other posts I have read like the original post (many of them over the years, these are clearly not anywhere near the first) the underlying belief was that the current president or Bush is the antichrist and everyone needs to move out of the cities into the "wilderness", stock up their food pantries and supply closets, and wait out the tribulation until JESUS comes and takes the remnant/bride to be with HIM after it is all over. Those in the wilderness will be in a camp protected by GOD and they will all barter for goods and services. Some say GOD will feed them with manna, others say the food will be grown and it will miraculously mature due to GOD's hand.

I don't doubt for a moment that GOD could sustain people in the wilderness since HE did for the Hebrews in the Exodus. HE can do anything HE wants! But I do not think these stories, told mostly from the point of view of post trib people who want to try out being survivalists for seven years, have any truth to them.

This all happened eight years ago, during the whole Y2K thing. I remember all of the people doing the same exact thing - declaring martial law would descend upon the nation, people would be imprisoned, the banks would fail and it was all because it was GOD's wrath on the US. These posts sound like a repeat of that time, just eight years later with different players. Before that it was the survivalist movement that sprang up during the Reagan administration. Many people were sure that Reagan would plunge the world into WW3 and only those who had prepared for the upcoming nuclear exchange would survive. I was a teenager then, and believe me it was interesting to think I could survive something like that with the proper equipment. It was something that I almost WANTED to happen then because I was prepared and others were not. It was self glorification for being so smart and discerning.

I am a pre-trib person. I do not think that believers in CHRIST will be here when the tribulation starts. I base my life on the teachings of CHRIST.

Fortunately or Unfortunately, I was brought up by a father who served in Vietnam and has a survivalist mentality. He was this way long before the year 2000. It was not a panic situation, but just being prepared. He thought he would not survive the war, he did. Now it is all about survival for him. He said every day he has lived since the war has been a blessing, an extra day. My Grandfather served in the WW. He lived through the Great Depression and he is a man of God, he believes in Pre-trib. Yet, he is prepared in somewhat of a survivalist mentality. He has lived through many wars, many hard times in the US. I think being prepared is not necessarily paranoia, but being ready for anything, anytime. We trust in God and my family knows that if a hard time falls upon the World, that God will continue to protect us (Christians). Christians have seen war, they have lived through the Great Depression. But one thing remains constant in our lives, that is God.

You are right - we should be prepared for emergancies. We keep an emergancy cash on hand. We keep traveller checks in our cars in case we need them (or someone else does). We stock food in our basement pantry because we can fruits and veggies. I have a generator that can power the entire house, mainly because when our power goes out (and it does about three or more times a year -we are a bit rural) we don't have running water (electric well pump). So being prepared is purdent and smart. It also allows us to be concerned about the needs of our neighbors as well. When the power goes out and they need water (same well situation) they come over. If they need to cook something for their family they can use our kitchen. It is that kind of thing that preparing is good for, too. It shows the love of CHRIST to others and causes fellowship to happen instantly.

If Americans start taking their money out of the banks in droves....that does cause major problems.

What better way for those who want us to fall than to be starting rumers.

I have an uncle who is in a very high position in one of the major banks in this country. He would warn us if something like this were to happen.

Nothing is going to happen in September.

The great tribulation is already here on earth, just look at all the martyrs, around the world.
In China, India, all Islamist countries, North Africa, south America.

I agree with what Fere and others have said about it being wise to prepare. If for nothing else then the economic situation. There are a couple of good threads here concerning ways to save money, and ways to save and help out when things get tough. Because I live in the country I buy in bulk anyway. Saves going to the shop every week and it's just how people do things around here. Petrol is very expensive in the UK so it's a luxury. My sons walk a mile to the school bus stop for instance. Some kids walk 2 or more so for here it's just the norm. I am getting chickens soon and maybe a nanny goat as milk and eggs are things that run out first in our house. I hope to start canning food I have grown and jams etc over this coming year. I don't really have a solid opinion on pre trib, post trib etc but if nothing else, someone is welcome to what I have stored up for hard times if I'm not here to use it.
I didn't mean to poo-poo the original posters post in this thread. As I said there is probably some truth in it, maybe quite alot. But when other bits are added that are far fetched maybe, we end up throwing the baby out with the bathwater (don't know if you have that saying where you are from!). So I read these things when they pop up and try to use discernment but that's not always easy for sure. In the meantime I will just carry on doing the best I can for my family and our future and our neighbors, friends and even strangers who might be in need if an economic collapse happens. I have no money stored aside really as I haven't enough to make a difference in rough times anyway! But I figure a cup of oats or rice will get me about as far as paper money if it got really bad and if not then I trust God will provide somehow. Peace to all of you, you are a lovely bunch

I just want to clarify something I shared earlier...I think it can be a good thing to be prepared for disasters etc...I hope I didn't come across as though I don't...but as far as the OP goes, I'm referencing the word "paranoia" to the NOW...I do not believe the time is NOW, in other words. I'm post-trib in beliefs and even though that is my view, I also believe that if a person can't get pre-prepared for Great Trib, then God will provide as evidenced in the past (manna, rocks gushing water, etc).

And I agree with Todd about the Y2K...I know of people who were bordering on hysteria over the thought of what *might* happen...even building under-ground shelters etc (which placed enormous strain on their marriage)...be careful everyone! In all sincerity, I do not believe a minor (mysterious) amount of people will be getting the message that the time is at hand...I believe there will be many coming forward, along with some proofs that indeed, the timing is NOW.

All of these are refrences to ceremonial functions performed by the Levite priesthood. It has nothing to do with forsaking the sabbath or the feasts, or the morning and evening sacrifice and oblation of wine that was offered at that time by the Levites for the temple yet stood with its ceremonies in the aforementioned text . There were brethren who were born in circumcision by the law who were also believers in the Messiah. Paul on at least one other occasion said that neither circumcision or uncircumcision was anything but THE KEEPING OF THE COMMANDMENTS. So the commandments should be kept by both Jew and Gentile. Its a no brainer to throw out the meat and drink, because the priesthood of Levi has been replaced.

It is interesting to note that the Roman Catholic position on the Sabbath is that if one is going to use the bible alone as the rule of faith then they should keep the 7th day. But the reason the Catholics keep sunday is because the church has the presumed authority to change law and by that authority instituted Sol invicti or Day of the Sun.

I'm undecided rapture wise, but I am vearing to post-tribulation.
Although I am not looking forward to the trib, as I think it will be a scarey time, more and more people will have their eyes open and they will believe, and that is exciting.

We also seem to forget that those of us who suffer will be richly blessed by the Lord, perhaps we will be like the Martyr Stephen who looked up and saw the angels ascending and descending as he was stoned to death.

If anyone wants to know what it is like for modern martyrs, please read the book "Jesus Freaks MARTYRS" by Dc Talk, as it is inspiring. One story which made me weep was when there was a group of people who had been found by the Kymer Rouge in Cambodia. They had been rounded up for being Christians and had been made to dig their own graves by the soldiers. They were allowed to pray and the Christians exhorted the soldiers to repent, but at that moment one of their children ran away into the forest. The father called him back, saying that if he ran off into the forest, he would only have a few days to live before he was found, and that it was better for them to be martyred together and go to paradise, so the child came back and they were shot shortly after.
Now I realise that once people have accepted the mark, then they are doomed, but before this happens, there will be many Christians giving up their lives, as "to live is Christ but to die is gain".

I am a bit freaked out at the prospect of dying, suffering and so on, so I pray for the Lord's protection; but we must all be ready... keeping a short account and living close to the Lord. The only safe place is the secret place, under the Lord's wings. We must trust him implicitly and he will lead us where he wants us to go.

I wonder if the apostasy (church falling away) and pre-tribulation view are linked? Maybe people will fall away if the rapture doesn't happen.

I also wonder what it would be like if we had our food stores and safe places? Could be honestly hide away while the rest of the world suffered? Would e not share our bread with strangers? What's the point of hoarding up and just looking after ourselves?

Good point, many church leaders have falsely prophecied the end of the world or the return of Jesus at a certain date, and when this did not take place, many left these organisations and fell away from the faith...

25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things.
