Why do we hide when we surf the furum? Is it because we are againstum? I used to hide occasionally but I had to clean up my act. If I have to hide to feel comfortable then I must be unconformable. Going anal ymous is like seeing a shadow...there is "no one there" but the traces can be seen....

Let us pray.

John 3 english standard version

20 for everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light lest his works should be exposed

21 but whoever does what is true comes to the light so that it may be clearly seen that his works is carried out in God

i can tell you who the 4th member is when it says anonymus i guess you would also have the ones who have been banned comming under new usser names deciding to go stelth mode so that no one catches them out

i think that is wise to be anonymous on a forum for many reasons...

however, if you feel led to come out of that security blanket and you feel
comfortable...please don't start a movement or chism for the rest that
are learning how to express themselves and their religious experiences.

this is a forum, and in a way allows for people to not be identifyed by
a stumbler that happens upon a site...let's not get overly righteous about
using your name...or any other name. OK?

there are always those that come through that would like to make life
unbearable, hit on, or outright stalk others. there is security in anonymity
to the level of not having to identify to strangers or justify to those that
may know you.

i am glad you feel set free. don't make that a mantra. let no one glorify
in the flesh, yet only Jesus Christ crucified and risen again.

love,
signet

Larry,

I hide when there are people on the forum that really don't like me........I revert back to my childhood and say, "If you can't see me, you can't hurt me." But, I am trying to change in this regard. After a week, I have decided to come out into the open... So please don't allow anyone to shoot verbal bullets at me! (Just joking) And I have decided that with our Lords help that I will not shoot verbal bullets.

Gods Blessings,

Al

This is the way it is for most of us. I am once again plumbing the reasons I dare to post. Posting for everyone of us It is a thing that at it's deepest root is formed in pride and in ego. We all want to take a turn at the mike so to speak, and give an account of ourselves. And that is what we are doing when we post...giving an account of ourselves. We express ideas, and many of those ideas are "under construction." That is to say, we are not entirely set upon them and want others to wave the traffic man's flag to tell us to "slow down." Or if not that, we want basic approval. We want to be known as that special one who has a handle on all things spiritual. To be an advocate general of Christ and to rise up and be ready to testify of all the great things God has done in your life. But what is a "God thing" to me may be questioned. Example, I just posted somewhere hereabouts that God speaks to me in secular music. That is therefore being challenged. But in essence, all we really are doing is exposing ourselves. Wiith some it is lewd exposure. With some it is crude exposure. With others it is dude exposure. With some it is feud exposure. Maybe it is mood exposure...each day that changes...the drift is it is our hearts on display. You or I are trying to be resilient in that... or how we may be set in stone says much. Many have a stony heart. Many have a wayside heart. Many have a thorny heart. Some even have a good ground heart. But it still goes back to a desire to express ones self and that is pride of self. You can't win really. As soon as you write thus and so the heart is on display and the world reads the mail, for or against. If one does not want be at risk, why post? I am asking myself that now....Signet said a few things in defence of anonymous...but the thing is once you have posted under cover or not, the heart you carry is still there...and when going anonymous there is still a trail..I post many times only to get a rapid fire reply from someone who wants to defecate on me even while I am still hanging poised on my turf of a thread...so go figure....Now that I am a "new figure" on this forum, I see many so called freinds of the past see me differently.

I agree that it is wiser to not use your real name on any forum.

If you know someone's real name, try not to publish this fact to others who may not know it. Let's protect each other.

But I don't really understand the stealth mode psychololgy.

If we all lived in the same neighborhood and knew each other's identities it would be different. But what is the worst that can happen if you are under a secret identity? Another poster can not come to your house and hurt you.

That is one of the beauties of the internet. No one can intimidate you as if they had the ability to back it up in real life. Our wit and character is all we have online. It doesn't matter what you look like or how old you are here. Our printed thoughts are all that matter.

I am amazed at how many times I have actually personally been threatened by other posters here and other places. It just happened to me yesterday on another thread here. What are they going to do? Post me to death? Lol.

"Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurst me" Words can hurt our hearts. But words can not hurt our bodies.

Here are some tips to avoid getting out of line when you post:

1. Calm down before you "add reply."

2. Read over your post again and again before sending it.

3. Edit your post ASAP if it seems unclear.

4. Never post if you have been drinking anything alchohalic at all (not likely at a Christian forum but I digress).

5. Have mercy on others! God help us all. Jesus died for every one of us.

Several points here...first I like the smiley...it is mine now...and the fisty cuff guy...I have that in a larger view and that figure is "beating a dead horse." There are times that sends the adequate reply in and of itself....I know we are at risk in using a real name. My real name is Larry. If one posts for a time on a place like this it usually gets established anyways. Some posters maintain a distance that prevents intimacy. That is also a self protection thing. Intimacy spreads disease....physically and emotionally....but it spreads love also...and those who remain aloof rarely show the love for the brethren all that well...cloaked in mistique and intrigue and even at times alluding to an undercurrent of vigorous impetuosity.

Imagine that. We share the same mailman I think...The thing is, one comes trooping into a place of fellowship naievely believing in the good of mankind and a few hours of tip toeing through the tulips is enough to afford one the inescapable finality that it just is not so. Even among a crowd of Christians there is guarded ambience inclining towards the amoral. We just don't get it. That in order to be a man or woman of God we must decapitate self. We must be headless but not mindless. By "headless" I mean not our own head. He is our Head. Scripture declares that we have the mind of Christ. But where is it? But few come to that and the head of flesh rises up like Ichabod Crane and gallops through the dark nights of our soulish natures. We become flagellators of all that bear witness. Jesus is scourged all over again as we trample on His own. And some seem to feel it is a trampling that is to be accomplished under cloak of haze and fog. I have decided that if I am going to be in any slugfest, the duel should be in full view at twenty paces. A single ball of our own **** loaded in the gun and the steady hand of a well aimed missle to be launched from a field of extreme anticipation...not knowing which ball of **** will hit the target...for there are always two sides to every duel and the one who lies dead is not always the carnal entity...it is equally as often the soft soul of truth that dies. Bleeding the last drop of life into the soil of indignation and contempt. Buried in rancor and uncelebrated forevermore.

You are a really creative writer.
You paint pictures with words. They are a little bit abstract or psychadelic at times.

I see your points.

What does this mean? "even at times alluding to an undercurrent of vigorous impetuosity."

Some posters have a way of imposing their views upn the rest of us in an appearance of iron fisted will. I can name names, but then I am not anonymous....no names no pack drill.....

of, pertaining to, or characterized by sudden or rash action, emotion, etc.; impulsive: an impetuous decision; an impetuous person.
2. having great impetus; moving with great force; violent: the impetuous winds.

That is a good word to know. Thanks.

Its a good thing that you did not impetuously begin to name names.

I'm one of those. I've always been bossy, just ask my younger sisters or my kids. Yes, Sharon is my real name, I really live in the forest, clean houses and do commercial artwork for a living, have a black dog, a gold dredge, and two trucks. I'm only worried about the four-legged stalkers.....for several good reasons.....
