Full Version: What Is Heaven To You?

Good day all,

Ever wondered what heaven is like? Besides gold, pearl and precious stones which make it really "hard and rocky"; we could find some steppe-like area with a continous mountain range in the backdrop. The aurora in the sky... Was thinking about it after a chat a while ago.

Now, before the grilling comes, I know my thoughts are very much limited, very much human - naivety-laced.

Blessed be...

hi~

all shall be made new ~ good without evil, life without death, truth without lies, love without hate, sincerity without feign, righteousness without selfishness, joy without sorrow, peace without war, wisdom without idols, flesh without blood, the LORD without the devil - AMEN.

in spirit & in truth, heaven is to meet the LORD face to face - as our salvation, as our God, & as our brethren. smile.gif

The kingdom of heaven is now, and be experienced now. The universal kingdom of God is at a later time...when all other form of government is done away with. When one walks in the divine intimacy with the Lord in the Spirit, that is a heavenly experience. It really is a spiritual reality that exists at this very moment. In the next age, God the Father will come and dwell with men. Then there will be only one manifestation of reality. Until then, there are two. Kind of like the Matrix movie. As nPaul said...our conduct (citizenship) is in heaven.

I originally posted this in the bible prophecy section (because for some reason, I kept getting an error when I tried to post it in this section)...these are my*rambles (about heaven)...

I have a dream...that one day in the (near) future...I will be in heaven. I try to imagine what that's going to be like...and of course, my most favorite thing to contemplate is God Himself and our relationship together. Over the course of time, I've dreamt of ways which we will enjoy each other's company. I know that there is nothing I could give to Him which He hasn't already given to me...but the thought of surprising Him somehow, someway would really make my day! lol

Of course He knows the beginning to the end...and has my thoughts in His mind before I even speak them...but my own fantasy is that He would somehow be able to close His eyes and blot out His foreknowledge, so that I could surprise Him, LOL! And then, I contemplate..."how or what would I surprise Him with?"....with that in mind, reflecting on the fact that Jesus mentioned not drinking of the fruit of the vine until He returns, and that after He received His resurrection body; He still ate (and even cooked fish)...I think I'd be very happy to cook Him my best meal possible...you know, lay out the large banqueting table with the very best stuff I could come up with. Who knows, I may be able to do this...and who knows, maybe...just maybe, He'd close His eyes and let me come up with some surprises....hehehe.

Regarding heaven...I wonder what you all are looking forward to the most (knowing most of you probably have God at the top of the list, with beloved relatives and friends following...outside of this, what are you looking forward to as well?)

Besides my *surprise*, I really can't wait to see family of course...but I imagine all the animals I've always wanted to play with, like monkeys, penguins, dolphins....swimming with them and even Beluga whales...I absolutely love talking birds...and imagine having fun with them as they bob their heads up and down...cracking up in joy. The beautiful scenery...and I've heard that heaven has the most delightful smell....like roses. Crazy as this may sound, I imagine that God too has a beautiful aroma surrounding Him...and can't wait to smell that too. I also imagine God taking me aside from time to time and surprising me with things I've never seen or known about beforehand. I imagine the delight He'd have in doing this.

....looking forward to your*rambles!

Heaven is God's throne where God who is Spirit sits.
Heaven is where the rain and snow come from to water the earth.

Acts 7:49 'Heaven is My throne, And earth is My footstool. What house will you build for Me? says the Lord, Or what is the place of My rest?

John 4:24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

Isaiah 55:10 "For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater,

Revelation 11:6 These have power to shut heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy; and they have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they desire.

A place not a single tear will fall and no more pain shall be felt...

A place of peace and serenity...

A place of holiness and worship...

A place prepared for each and every believer...

2 peter 3 English standard version

13 But according to his promise we are weighting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells

this is what i see what heaven means to me i am weighting for a new heaven and a new earth were righteousness dwells were their is no more evil were we live in harmony and in peace

the earth as we know it is slowly fading you can see this just by the way people are behaving towards each other

when Jesus comes he is going to build his kingdom on this earth he is going to rule this earth and he is going to deal with the trouble makers who have taken on the mark of the beast the earth as we know it wil be gone and a new earth will form

2 peter 3 English standard version

12 waiting for and hastening the comming of God because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn

i could have given you the version everyone gives were he promises us a mansion and were the streets are covered in gold and were their is worship and praise and were we walk in harmony with the wild animals of this earth

so i decided to be the odd one just to see what reaction i get by what i have left of what heaven means to me

God bless from damo

My vision of heaven......

Completely filled with laughter, and giggles, and childrens/infants contagious laughter. And then, over all that laughter, is God's and Jesus laughter. Happiness abounding, and love and peace everywhere.
Children and babies running to and fro, giggling and happy.
Oh and singing, lots of singing, all praises to God. Hosanna to God in the highest!!!!

Oh and the breakfast eating table..... a really really long table, with everyone around it. Enjoying perfect fruits and vegetables. Again, more laughter and sharing stories of deliverance, and talking to God.

So many things God has planned for us, we just have no idea. But it sure is fun to think about and picture.

I can imagine all of us sitting around Jesus, as He tells all the children and babies and us adults the story of salvation, the gospel. How we'll listen in rapt attention as He recounts all the details, and all the things that were happening that only He and God could know. And He'll teach us so many things and we'll be so happy.

He'll walk with us individually, and tell us how much He loves us and how much He always has. And all the things that He did in our lives. To walk with Jesus and God, is going to be so amazing and so much happiness.

And we'll go swimming and diving and all kinds of things and there will be NO fear, no sin at all. Just perfect peace and happiness. And we'll do things there that were never able to do here.
And all the people that were sick or lame, or disabled in some way, won't be there. They will be running and jumping and laughing. no more pain or sorrow, or tears.

So many things..... I tell you, I can't wait to go home. I really can't. It is my biggest hearts desire, to be home with Jesus.

It's like life on earth now, except no one sins. People don't go whoring after false Gods. They don't steal from each other or hate each other or covet or break any of the Ten Commandments. The children don't get together and pick on one kid and beat that kid up after school.

Sin is what holds us back. In the new earth, people will all be one with God and live forever and nothing will hold them back from their pure ambitions:

Isaiah 65:21 And they shall build houses, and inhabit [them]; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
65:22 They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree [are] the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
65:23 They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they [are] the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.
65:24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
65:25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust [shall be] the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.

QUOTE
There, immortal minds will contemplate with never-failing delight the wonders of creative power, the mysteries of redeeming love. There will be no cruel, deceiving foe to tempt to forgetfulness of God. Every faculty will be developed, every capacity increased. The acquirement of knowledge will not weary the mind or exhaust the energies. There the grandest enterprises may be carried forward, the loftiest aspirations reached, the highest ambitions realized; and still there will arise new heights to surmount, new wonders to admire, new truths to comprehend, fresh objects to call forth the powers of mind and soul and body. {GC 677.2}
All the treasures of the universe will be open to the study of God's redeemed. Unfettered by mortality, they wing their tireless flight to worlds afar--worlds that thrilled with sorrow at the spectacle of human woe and rang with songs of gladness at the tidings of a ransomed soul. With unutterable delight the children of earth enter into the joy and the wisdom of unfallen beings. They share the treasures of knowledge and understanding gained through ages upon ages in contemplation of God's handiwork. With undimmed vision they gaze upon the glory of creation--suns and stars and systems, all in their appointed order circling the throne of Deity. Upon all things, from the least to the greatest, the Creator's name is written, and in all are the riches of His power displayed. {GC 677.3}
And the years of eternity, as they roll, will bring richer and still more glorious revelations of God and of Christ. As knowledge is progressive, so will love, reverence, and happiness increase. The more men learn of God, the greater will be their admiration of His character. As Jesus opens before them the riches of redemption and the amazing achievements in the great controversy with Satan, the hearts of the ransomed thrill with more fervent devotion, and with more rapturous joy they sweep the harps of gold; and ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands of thousands of voices unite to swell the mighty chorus of praise. {GC 678.1}
"And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever." Revelation 5:13. {GC 678.2}
The great controversy is ended. Sin and sinners are no more. The entire universe is clean. One pulse of harmony and gladness beats through the vast creation. From Him who created all, flow life and light and gladness, throughout the realms of illimitable space. From the minutest atom to the greatest world, all things, animate and inanimate, in their unshadowed beauty and perfect joy, declare that God is love. {GC 678.3}

I will talk to the prophets and saints and study God's computers and all His technology and will explore the universe with my friends and study all the organisms and learn to play every instrument and take up surfing for awhile and then rock climbing and study metallurgy and just keep on learning new things and experiencing new things and meeting new people forever.

It will never get boring.

That's God's original plan for mankind, just as if Eve had never decided to join Satan by eating the forbidden fruit. A 70 year life span is not what God intended for mankind. That's not nearly long enough.

There will also not be people suffering torment throughout all eternity. How horrible is such a thought. They will all be destroyed.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Malachi 4:1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

Matt. 10:26 ..fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Matt. 13:30 Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them

Jude 1:7 ..Sodom and Gomorrha, ... are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Matt. 3:12 Whose fan [is] in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire .

Jer 17:27 But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.

Ez 20:47 ...Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burned therein.

Heb 12:29 For our God [is] a consuming fire.

Num 16:45 Get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them as in a moment

Ex 33:5 Ye [are] a stiffnecked people: I will come up into the midst of thee in a moment, and consume thee:

2 Thes. 1:9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

Rev 20:9 ..and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

Obadiah 1:16 ...they shall be as though they had not been.
