For years I had dreams in which I was told that I had Jewish ancestery through my mother's ancestry. One of the dreams I have posted on this forum.

http://www.christian-forum.net/index.php?showtopic=10011I told Mom and she scoffed at that idea. Well she was researching the family sur name of her mother's family parents - AMOS and it turns out AMOS is very ancient Jewish surname that goes back several thousand years, around the time of the exodus. She was shocked. I wonder....

I would be glad to find out that this would be the case and you can see that my dream had very specific references that I had to research. In one dream I was shown the area in Israel where my Jewish ancestors were from. I drew a map. It was exactly the area of land occupied by the tribe of Mannasseh on the Biblical map. What do think is the signifcance of GOD showing me this? Why would it matter if I am descended from Israel or not (although it pleases me that I could be)? Any ideas? Does it mean I have to observe Jewish holidays / rituals? Or that I maybe entitled to promises GOD made to Israel long ago, perhaps one day returning to the land of my ancestors?
Here are some direct references to AMOS :

If you are indeed Jewish...then you are in good company and if I was you...I would consider it an honor.
One of my Jewish Professors told me this.....nobody today can tell by blood lineage if they are actually Jewish unless they are from the Cohen tribe. That is the Priestly lineage.
However....you could possibly take some DNA and see if it has any alleles that indicate Jewish ancestry.
Also....being Jewish depends on ones definition of it.
Now my Professor gave some very good arguments about why being Jewish is dependant on if one is actually PRACTICING Judaism.
I tend to disagree with her on that. And that particular interpretation also depends on who you are talking to.
Orthodox Jews do not believe that. The Orthodox believe that if your mothers lineage was Jewish...then so are you. But again...one does not know if that was ever broken through the centuries. Rather hard to say for sure...no?
And then yet another group of Jews will say that it does not matter.....one is Jewish if EITHER of the parents were.
So...you see how this could be a little complicated.
And it also seems as if God was trying to tell you something from your dreams. You very well may be Jewish. (I'm happy for you.)
But this is the main thing.....no...you do NOT have to start practicing any of the Laws. When the disciples NEW that the Messiah had come....they had a hard time with some of the temple sacrifices. They could not continue doing some of these because Yeshua had come.
HE was the ultimate sacrifce. Once and for ALL.
YOU are already a believer in Yeshua. You are saved. So...to go and start practicing Judaism would be....I hate to say it like this... but a step back only because you already know the Messiah.
Perhaps the Lord is showing you this because....and I will come back later with this scripture...but He promised to bring the Jews back to the land from whence they were scattered.
It is a very beautiful scripture....and one of my favorites.
I hope all this helps you.
Love,
Cindy
