i saw this on sbs world news i heard Bill clinton share what it was like for him Bill clinton said people also thought he was to young and un experianced he plugged a lot of support for obama and said he is the right man for the top job as our president
they are expecting over 75,000 people
i am from Australia so i am only going by what sbs world news is showing us i have been though following the election with great intrest but i tend not to take sides like what i have observed by whats been said in sevral posts on this forum
my Question is this with the plug Bill clinton gave obama wil the ones against obama listen to what Bill clinton had to say and give obama a fair chance or do you want to keep the tradition and have a white man fill in for the top job as your president all your presidents have been white obama is black will he get the chance to prove him self or will mc cain be voted in to keep with the tradition ?

Hi Damo,
I really don't care what race a candidate is. I am a white guy. I was raised with the whole "don't look at the color of a person; look at their character." So I really don't care about the color of a person's skin.
What I really care about is a candidate's stand of important policies such as abortion, immigration, defense, taxes and government interference. I will not vote for a pro-abortion candidate, period. I want immigration controlled properly. I want to continue a strong defense, especially now that Russia is back to it's old tricks. Obama wants to scale back the US Military, thinking that we will lead by example. But Russia and China will take complete advantage of that and we will have to kowtow to them for energy (if they get their way). I want to be able afford the taxes I pay, not more. Finally, I want the government to stop interferring with my life. But there are others who want the government to pay for everything. The problem with that is that most American's have forgotten that WE ARE THE GOVERNMENT! I don't think we need to go socialistic to make things better. I think socialist governments make things more difficult.
Skin color and slick speaking is not an indicator of a good leader. Character, good planning and putting the country's needs first is the signal for me of a good leader.
I get tired of the democrats claiming that people have been knocked down, used, are poor, can't get jobs, healthcare, and we can't win the Iraq war or the war on terrorism.
The truth is this: The average American still makes $48,201 per year (2006). The unemployment rate is still historically low at 5.7%, and that is up from 5.5% from last year. Still incredibly low. Some Americans don't have healthcare insurance because they don't want it and they don't have to have it if they don't want it! Most people still get their healthcare from their employers. I buy my own because I have my own business. I get to go to any hospital I want to go to. It pays 100% (after deductible). I don't have to wait for medical services like the Brits and Canadians ( no offense to them). Last, we are winning the war in Iraq and we will see our troops leave Iraq by 2011. But terrorism will rear it's ugly head time after time for a long time.
So if Obama wanted to stand opposed to same sex marriages and abortions, make sure taxes are kept low, ensure we maintain the top military in the world, protect ourselves against our enemies and stay out of my life as much as possible, then I would vote for him. But that would be the EXACT opposite of where he is now.
Blessings in JESUS name

thanks for pointing some things out we are the same when it comes to our Australian polaticans and prime minister
i tend to look at what change the person can bring to Australia instead of lying to us aussies just to get our vote
when i do vote i dont go in half hearted i take my time i pray
as i stated i am from Australia so i only get to see what the news gives us but i have been following this election from this side of the world
we have the same views
sadly people wil just vote with out using the brain god has given them
we do the same in the philippines and we warn our members i hate it when the polaticans come into the areas our members live and try to sway them my fiancee is a female pastor and with me soon to be heading off to the philippines i have been doing a lot of re search and luckly i have a good father in law who has been filing me in
i hate election time in canberra you get all the polaticans greeting the public and were i live i can see the parliment house and i drive past were our prime minster lives i love drilling our polaticans i dont even back down
i wil be praying though that you guys use wisdom and that god brings the right person for the top job
this is how us christians do things in australia when kevin rud one a lot of people were not happy the ones supporting howard wanted john howard to still be our prime minister i voted against howard the reason why i did not like him and i did not like how he was trying to scrap medicare he wanted what you guys have now
he wanted australia to be like america
he supported the private schools more then he supported the public schools the money the public schools use to get from this goverment was being given to the private schools and it was the same with the public hospitals he put more money into the private hospitals and ignored the needs when it comes to our pub lick hospitals
if he had his way we would have lost our medicare
so i agree but what i am trying to figure out is were is the proof i have heard some strange things concerning obama i did some re search on his pastor and the church he use to belong to he used his head and left his pastor
so this is what i am trying to work out weather what i have been hearing is the truth when it comes to obama
God bless from damo
