Hi everyone
Firstly I would like to say how blessed Littlefaith (who needs a name change methinks!) and I have been with stumbling on this forum. We have found that all the debates have really interested us, we are encouraged and we feel a lot of love from you guys, which has sadly been lacking in our experience of church since we moved to Australia - nothing against Aussies, our best mates our Aussies, but we had a lot of support back home and friends who mentored us as new believers. We felt strongly that the Lord opened the doors for us to come here but sometimes it has been a real struggle.

Now we are at a point where we have made a lot of changes and have been convicted of our need to be obedient to God and to seek him, to pursue holiness and be on fire for Him. I didn't know until recently that we aren't supposed to have any debts and now we are wondering if we should sell up and so pay off our debts, the market over here is slowing down and we are also renovating... so it's hard work to finish it before a possible crash.

We'd really appreciate some prayer on whether this is the right thing to do, I'm really confused - I try to live right before God and for whatever reason, I never saw the call to be debt free before. I feel very attached to where we are living and the kids do too, but we don't want to lose out if the market crashes and we'd then be left with a bigger debt. I also want to be obedient to God, I don't want to take out any other loans but we already have heaps... including student loans, the mortgage, a questionable buisness transaction that we have decided to put right because it was a "grey" area and we want to err on the side of caution. We have quite a modest house and Littlefaith works so hard, but with interest rates rising and house prices falling we are unsure if we will ever be able to get this chance to be debt free if we don't act soon. Another problem which arises is that there is a huge rental shortage, so if we sell we may not be able to get a house to live in.

I don't really have anyone else who I can ask for prayer, so I really appreciate being able to ask you guys. I know there are many other prayer requests and people in need but I just feel so sad about moving, we have moved half way round the world to be here and that was so hard... I am struggling with post natal depression and I don't mean to make excuses and I don't want to be stubborn but I just don't know what to do. We havealways tried to honour God in our giving and I have seen him provide for us in the past, but now I just don't know what to do.
Thanks for reading and God bless you all x

I will be praying for you! I know that the Lord wants to bless you in a new land and you will find His blessings... you are faithful to Him and though there are struggles going on all over this land, there is a way with God, as LittleFaith says (and you're right, I think a name change is called for here!)... NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD!

Only believe!

Love,
Rose

ahhh.. +Shine4Him+

The Lord honors the desire to be obedient and in doing so, He will provide!
I will be praying for you..
I read yesterday, If anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask the Lord who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed - A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

I will pray also that your faith in the Lord will be great and honoring to Him..

Blessings to you!

P.S. .. +Shine4Him+ ... I just noticed your name was Bessie, before.

Did you move from the USA? and if so, by chance did you live in N.C.

Silly me.. but a (used) book I just bought online was previously owned by somebody named Bessie.. and you were who came to mind.. I searched for your name on the forum and couldn't find you.... but now have come across it, only because I frequent this part of the forum to see who needs prayer..

Anyhow.. I know there must be hundreds of thousands of Bessie's.. but I just thought.. wouldn't it be kewl if it was you?! smile.gif

Thanks Cheryl and Rose... I am asking God for wisdom and taking all my confusion and questions to Him. Ooops I have a 2 yr old climbing on me and hitting the keyboard with her rubber duckie!
Cheryl, I'm British and Bessie was a pen name! My own name is unusual and I have had problems with my anti-Christian brother finding me online, so I prefer to be anonymous. x

Thank you, for sharing your experience in the real world of everyday affairs.

It is refreshing to read !

In a economic crisis, every one is in debt.

Even if you are not a home owner, you owe a monthly debt to live one more month
in a rental home/apartment. Paying month-by-month.

And when American's finance a home for 20 - 30 years, they owe a debt to the mortgage
company.

With all the Georgia foreclosures, thousands of families monthly, have unsatisfied
mortgage debts, that will keep the crisis in continuance for the big banking failures and
stocks, oil, wheat/food supplies, etc.

My advice to you, is common sense.

Do not start liquidation of cash and assets. Keep the system that has worked to house, feed
and cloth your family, just the same.

() Secure yourself, by paying the mortgage first.

() Then the utilities next.

If you have to file a chapter 13, it pays all creditors back 100% with court ordered
payments distributed over 36 months.

This eases the burden on families to keep the homeplace, and pay the creditors
100% on secured debt.

Unsecured debt, is another subject.

It looks better on credit, to have vehicles under repo, than mortgage/real estate foreclosures.

American public is in a crisis.

And the world, will not be changing this cycle, until Beast/anti-christ comes into the scene
with the answer's to deceive.

The Biblical study of being debt free, is very interesting and is not a quick understanding
topic.

Hold to your faith.

Stick with your financial pattern, that is working for the benefit of the family unit.

Blessings !

Now go out and tell everyone that Salvation is at hand!
Tell them it is imminent!

In Leviticus we are told not to lend to our brothers upon victuals of usery or with interest. To say we are to have no debts is not necesaarily true for to owe no man anything implies defrauding someone as a lender of debt. It does not mean one can not take out a loan, as long as you pay it back without missing payments or without paying.

Continue giving to God. God loves a cheerful giver. Take it day at a time. Do not make any drastic changes, Especially right away.

Tear up any credit cards and save money. Hopefully, you do not have a flexible interest morgage, but a fix one. Pray for God's grace.
