Last night during prayer, I received some words in the Spirit of the Lord.

First, I received Iran; twice.

I asked the Lord "what does this mean?".

His response......."Soon".

I continued praying and received the word "Russia".

I asked the Lord "what does this mean?".

His response...."a little while".

(as in, they will also get involved, but not immediately...in a little while)

I was not given specifics of who will start this or how this will take place, but during continued prayer (not sure if these were my own thoughts or the Lords; August and September came to my mind).

I went to the Current events section of the forum and saw an article posted by Lois Faith which mentioned the title of another article "Curiosity about U.S. Naval buildup in Persian Gulf". I went online to find the article itself and believe that this is a confirmation to the words I received. Please be in prayer everyone.

Here is the article...

Curiosity about U.S. Navy buildup in Persian Gulf
Chad Groening - OneNewsNow - 8/18/2008 4:00:00 AM

Senior Army strategist Bob Maginnis says he doesn't know if a huge U.S. Naval armada gathered in the Persian Gulf is conducting an exercise, displaying a show of force, or poised to do something bigger.

In recent days military sources have revealed that three new American flotillas have arrived in Middle Eastern waters to join two other carrier groups already there. The marshalling of such a vast armada of more than 40 carriers, warships, and submarines has not been seen since just before the 2003 U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.

Lt. Colonel Bob Maginnis (USA-Ret.) is not sure if this means a major operation may be coming. "Whether or not the current scenario is to participate in an exercise, show of force, or is involved in a future operation, that's to be determined," he contends. "But clearly it's a lot of combat power in one area."

Whatever is going on, says the Pentagon advisor, appears to be connected with Iran. "Given what has been going on between Iran and the United States and the Western World, one can't help but wonder whether or not Israel or the United States or perhaps both are planning to do something other than watch the current situation with Iran," he adds.

Maginnis does not think the crisis in Georgia will have an immediate impact with what the U.S. is doing in the Gulf.

how exactly did you receive words? i don't understand this concept. did you hear whispering? or did you daydream something random and come up with this?

This has been a gut feeling of mine. Israel is bound to strike Iran soon (within a year, I think sooner). Israel is a position to do something soon to hinder Iran's nuclear program. For sure by Spring/Summer 2009. I think late 2008. We'll see.....

I feel this has high capabilities of bringing about more bigger problems------Russia.

Just pray...............

Ok- I should have NOT said "for sure". But I trust my gut.

Isn't that what the Bible says all the time: without God problems will multiply?

Iran War Soon?

Hmmm.....came across this just now.

John Bolton, former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, recently predicted that Israel has an “optimal window” in which to attack and destroy Iran’s nuclear enrichment facilities. The window opens the day after the November 4 presidential election and closes with the swearingin of George W. Bush’s successor on January 20. We believe that a brief geopolitical assessment of the Iranian nuclear standoff suggests Bolton’s view may well be correct, as Israel’s options are plainly running out. Signs during the weekend of July 1920, when the U.S. joined in direct talks with Iran, suggest that a confrontation may be avoided, but it wouldn’t be the first time that hopes flared up, only to be extinguished by intransigence.

all this Iran talk is very old news.

Yes, I've heard of this too. I'm also in agreement with you that Russia will not stand on the sidelines too long if and when this conflict arises with Iran. Iran and Russia are allies. (Not to mention China as well).

I'm very cautious about *dates*...and I want to also reiterate that those months which came to my mind...August and September, I am unsure about that; those could have been my own thoughts....but I do have confidence with those words about Iran being soon and Russia in a little while as coming from the Lord. I found it no coincidence to find that article detailing the Persian Gulf buildup.

Where many people may disagree with me however is this...I do not believe that God would be pleased by the US or Israel striking Iran. BUT these things are being allowed in fulfillment of prophecy; certain things must happen in order for prophecy to be fulfilled. Similar to the antichrist; this is not God's will for the antichrist to come on the scene; but we know it will happen according to biblical prophecy.

God bless you all,
Kim

I get this sort of thing from time to time. I'll feel drawn to a bible verse, a Tv show, or even a post on a message board or even hear a song in my head, and a word will just stand out, and a few days later... blink.gif It still sends shivers down my spine. blush.gif

Yes....that sounds like how God's Spirit works. I know of a person who although they didn't share this immediately with anyone, nonetheless kept getting the word "tsunami" for approx. a month before the great tsunami hit. It was just one of those odd little thoughts that would come to their mind out of the blue...but when it came true...talk about being dumbfounded.

And although I do not believe God misleads us by approving of certain music, He can still use lyrics as a way to get a point across as well. One time in particular was a dream I had about His return...towards the end of this dream a song was playing (yet without heavy guitar emphasis....the lyrics were emphasised)...."Now the TIME has come! NOWHERE TO RUN!....TIME!... TIME!".

I find the most reliable way I've heard anything from the Lord is when a thought pops into my mind which runs contrarily to my normal train of thought....it's like He's interjecting His own thoughts into my mind and they stand out this way.

God bless you,
Kim

Hi Hyacyphilia!

Welcome to the forum! I thank you for your candidness. In order for you to experience the baptism in the Holy Spirit; you must recieve our Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior first. I'm not sure how much of the gospel message you have already heard or no...but part of that message is that we are all sinners in need of salvation. When we confess our sins to Him and repent of those sins (not mere lip service, but a determination to turn away from those sins)...we can rest assured in His forgiveness.

The barrier between God and man is broken through the sacrifice Jesus paid for us upon the cross. Without receiving this sacrifice, we are still separated from God. This is a foundational truth....without acceptance of this and obedience to that truth you cannot expect to receive God's Spirit in your life.

Satan is a great mimic of the supernatural ways that God works. Psychic's, tarot card readers, mediums, etc...these are all receiving supernatural experiences apart from God's Spirit. But God is the orginal. By His Spirit, believers can experience speaking in unknown tongues, gifts of healing, prophecy, words of knowledge (discernment for a given individual or situation...also known as a word of wisdom). The way in which God accomplishes this can vary from believer to believer. Sometimes a word can come as an audible voice...but most times it is more like a "still, small voice" (which gently interjects upon your mind...you can tell these are not your own thoughts...but yet it is not overbearing).
Other ways could be through dreams and visions.

There are differing views concerning whether or not God supernaturally intervenes in His children's lives...some believe that He stopped shortly after Jesus came to the earth, I disagree with this...I believe God's Spirit is readily available to those who obey the gospel message. Also, there are people who claim they are christian, yet claim to have the gifts of God's Spirit and use those to mislead God's people. That is why it is very important to study the bible because in it, we have the truth revealed to us from God.

I find that I am most open to hearing the voice of the Lord during my private prayer/worship time...usually before bed. Worship is a beautiful way of experiencing God...it is not a one way expression. Those who seek Him can expect to find Him...knock, and the door shall be opened...ask, and it shall be given.

I'm more than happy to answer any of your questions....hope that helps,
God bless you,
Kim

Well, that depends...upon God's will. Most times I receive visions from the Lord...and sometimes those visions will be accompanied with a *voice*...which is sometimes audible, other times it's like the voice is speaking directly to my mind. Other times I have received dreams from God and He has spoken to me in those dreams as well.

These words which I shared in this posting came as an audible voice (yet within my mind)(but the words about the months, came more as mere thoughts, rather than a direct voice).

I will say this...it takes time to discern the voice of the Lord, and we don't necessarily need to be christian at the time when God might speak to us. I started receiving dreams when I was a child, which later on after becoming a born again christian, I received the understanding to those dreams. In the book of Daniel, King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream (he was not serving I AM THAT I AM, at that time either)...and the Lord used Daniel to interpret that dream for him. In the book of Genesis, God gave Pharoah a dream which God used Joseph to interpret...and by that interpretation; God spared Egypt and the surrounding lands during seven years of famine...it was a great deliverance. God can send dreams to non-christians to draw a them closer to Him; and also as a proof of His existence.

We must be careful as well, because we can hear from more than one source, either ourselves, God or Satan. So we should pray over our spiritual experiences and seek understanding as well as confirmation/discernment that this experience is genuinely from the Lord. It takes time and practice.

I hope this helps you, and God bless you,
Kim

LOL ces...I'll tell you one of my funnies...I have a tendency to get pessimistic from time to time and several times I know this is the Lord...He has brought a commercial-jingle to my mind..."Keep on the Sunny Side...keep on the Sunny Side!".......LOL

thanks, that answered my question =]
