Mention of the Fig Tree runs through the Bible from the beginning to the end....Genesis to Revelation, with many references throughout. We are to understand what is being said! The first mention is just after Adam and Eve were seduced by Satan.....

Genesis 3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Something monumental happened between them and Satan (the serpent) if it caused their eyes to be opened. Notice too....this was not an apple tree. There was no apple for Eve to take a bite of. That is just more of the fairy tales we have been taught...right beside Santa Claus and the easter bunny. They were in a grove of figs. And, Christ wanted us to learn about those figs!

Matthew 24:31 And He shall send His angels with a sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

24:32 Now LEARN a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

24:33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

"Summer is nigh," meaning....it is almost time for harvest! The harvest of souls is at the end of this age when He sends His angels. Learn the parable and know when it is almost time to be gathered.

He instructed us to learn the parable. We find it in the Old Testament.....

Jeremiah 24:1 The Lord shewed me, and, behold two baskets of figs were set before the temple of the Lord, after that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the carpenters and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon.

24:2 One basket had very good figs, even like the figs that are first ripe: and the other basket had very naughty figs which could not be eaten, they were so bad.

24:3 Then said the Lord unto me, "What seest thou, Jeremiah?" And I said, "Figs; the good figs, very good; and the evil, very evil, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil."

24:5 "Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel; Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for their good.

24:6 For I will set Mine eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up.

24:8 And as the evil figs, which cannot be eaten, they are so evil; surely thus saith the Lord, So will I give Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the residue of Jerusalem, that remain in this land, and them that dwell in the land of Egypt:

Two baskets of figs. One basket of very good figs, fruit fruits, and one basket of very evil figs. Now we know figs aren't evil so this is speaking of people.

Two of the twelve tribes of Israel, known as the house of Judah which consist of Judah and Benjamin, were taken captive by Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon. The other ten tribes, the house of Israel, had been taken captive some two hundred years before that time and they never returned to Judea. They are known as the lost tribes and I believe they are the Christians of today. But, this parable concerns the house of Judah (Judah and Benjamin).

When did God, "bring them again to this land?" In 1948! That was the year the Nation of Israel was established. That was the beginning of the generation of the fig tree when both good and evil figs were set out. That is when they began "putting forth leaves" so we know that the end is "even at the doors."

Matthew 24:34-35 Verily I say unto you, "This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away."

What is meant by "this generation?" It is the generation of the fig tree. It is our generation, the generation in which all of this takes place. Biblically, there are three generations. Forty, seventy and one hundred and twenty. We passed the first marker in 1988 and are quickly approaching the next - 2018. The end doesn't have to be on that date but during that generation.

We began with the first Biblical reference to the fig tree....now for the last:

Revelation 6:13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

The mighty wind is the Holy Spirit shaking the "untimely figs" - Satan and his fallen angels, out of heaven. They're coming to earth to try to take us "out of season"....before the true Christ arrives at His 2nd Advent. Notice that in [Matthew 24:32] the fig tree is a "him." Here the fig tree is a "her/she."

One fig tree has the good figs while the other....the "her/she" grows the evil figs. Is that female "Mystery Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth?" Is that tree the tree of knowledge of good and evil from the Garden of Eden? We know that the parable is telling us the figs are people....who are the evil figs from this tree and how did they make their appearance? The answer is found in the garden and what really happened to cause them to cover themselves in fig leaves.

Maybe the parable of the fig tree pertained also to AD70.

The good figs of Jeremiah's prophecy were those sent into exile,
the bad figs, those left to rot in Jerusalem.

Jer 24:8 ¶ And as the evil figs, which cannot be eaten, they are so evil; surely thus saith the LORD, So will I give Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the residue of Jerusalem, that remain in this land, and them that dwell in the land of Egypt:

The same principle applied in AD70.

The rotten stayed,
the good got out as quick as they could.

But the key to the prophecy is about Him bringing them back. That is when the time is set...the time of the last generation begins when they are back in the land. When both baskets...the good and the evil are in Jerusalem. That wasn't 70AD.

You are going to find out now why these people in southern Palestine had such a problem with the people in northern Palestine. It is all going to come out in this sermon you will find as we go along. Also, there remained a contingent of Judah left behind called the bad figs. These people became known as Jews. This is not a derogatory term as it is used today when some people spit out the name Jew perhaps, there are some of us who might have a problem in that respect. The word Jew here only meant little Judah or remnant of Judah. This is when it began to first be used as a term recognizing a nation. If you go to Jeremiah 3 Ezekiel 37 and Ezekiel 23 you will find that God always referred to Israel and Judah as nations. It wasn't until after the Babylonian captivity that he began to refer to these people as Jews.

True Jews : Good Figs/Bad Figs

Hi Betty,

The writer isn't accurate or doesn't understand. The word Jew means the two tribes of Judah and Benjamin....they are the house of Judah, properly called...Jews. They split from their brother tribes, the ten northern tribes called...the house of Israel. All together they are Jacob/Israel but the two houses split and remain so today.

They weren't a nation until 1948. The writer tells us to go to Jeremiah 3 to find "that God always referred to Israel and Judah as nations." Jeremiah 3 talks about the split in the two houses and their future reconciliation:

Jeremiah 3:11 And the Lord said unto me, "the backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah.

3:18 In those days the HOUSE OF JUDAH shall walk with the HOUSE OF ISRAEL, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.

It isn't that true Jews are the bad figs. It is rather those Christ teaches us about:

Revelation 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

Those that "do lie" are Kenites....sons of Cain.

Why ?

Cuz' I needed to see the difference in Jeroboam (House of Israel) versus House of David.

Question, for you ?

Hey, can you put a mini chart of the theme of good figs/bad figs and parallel it

I agree they were in a fig orchard.....Figs leaves represent that which is hidden,,,after satan came in Eve,,,she new immediately what had happen,,,,im not sure but maybe she had the ability to know exactly when she was impregnated(99.9% sure) She then took fig leaves (represent that which is hidden)
and covered her private parts,,,,,,why? because she knew what was inside her,,,,,there was a evil inside her growing a evil that is still here today (kenites)and she had the first one in her.......

Just a couple of footnotes to WW's post,,,,when figs are ripe they come off the tree real easy,,,,,

These are the "untimely figs" which are harvested out of season. Many who say they are christians will be taken out of season, thats because they will be taken by the antichrist . God's elect will not be taken out of season, but will stand all events and allow the Spirit to give answer for them.....

These are the "untimely figs" which are harvested out of season. Many who say they are christians will be taken out of season, thats because they will be taken by the antichrist . God's elect will not be taken out of season, but will stand all events and allow the Spirit to give answer for them.....

O yeah WW you might wanna look into this but I havent had a chance to dig in it,,,,,,,but i believe when you look at the horticulture of figs,,,you will find out that these figs spoken of are "goat figs" and thats the male tree...

Thank you Nightmare....I did as you suggested and add the following here:

We saw that there were two baskets of figs...one very good, first fruit figs and the other...very evil and naughty.

There is a very good fig tree named a "Smyrna Fig Tree" and there is an unedible fig tree named "Capris" and it is often called Goat Fig.

The fruit of the tree are figs and they contain their blossoms inside the fig. There is a tiny hole in the end of the fig and the fig wasp enters that and pollinates the fruit. The wasp goes from the goat fig and carries pollen to the Smyrna fig. Without the wasp neither fig tree would live.

Now, what does all that mean? There is so much symbology here and remember....this is for us, the final generation. We are in the generation of the fig tree. Actually, we are nearing the end of this generation that began in 1948. First, a good fig is a Smyrna fig. Where else did we see that name?
Revelation 2:8-9 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; 'These things saith the First and the Last, Which was dead, and is alive; I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty (but thou art rich), and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

Those that "say they are Jews and are not" are the goat figs, the basket of very evil figs. They are Kenites, sons of Cain. Satan was the father of Cain and this connection to figs began in the garden when Adam and Eve covered themselves with.....FIG leaves!
Matthew 25:32 And before Him shall be gathered all nations: and He shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

25:33. And He shall set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.

25:41. Then shall He say also unto them on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

So, that tells us who the good and evil figs are....what about the wasp that keeps both alive? In this generation we have the term....WASP, which stands for White Anglo Saxon Protestant. They/we keep the good and bad figs going. Those of us that don't know any better, don't "test the fruit" and just listen to every preacher and new doctrine coming along and we keep the evil fig well financed. We also finance and keep alive the Word of God....the good fig and the best of that is Smyrna which teaches how all this fig business got started!

Except those times be shortened there will no man be saved alive.

Mat 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Mar 13:20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.

The time to the end can be anytime, any day. This generation began in 1948 but can end anytime in the parameters given.

I believe the days being spoken of in the above scriptures, the days that will be shortened, are the days of the tribulation. There are two tribulations, actually, just one and then the wrath of God. The first one is the one Christ shortens. That is the "great tribulation" which is the tribulation of Satan. However....it is not one of mass murder and mayhem but rather of great spiritual deception..."such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be." [Matthew 24:21]

Those days have been shortened and we are given the time in.....

Revelation 9:5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months; and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.

The torment is deception. He wants us to believe he is the true Saviour but he is the fake. We must know that the fake comes first pretending to be Christ. We must wait and not take the mark (to believe him.) Where it is written "no man be saved alive," it means their souls.
