Tonight on the CNN church debate Mcain said that the best days of America are yet ahead....who can agree? Will it be gold and glory? Or old and sorry?

Must the USA be measured against a world backdrop either as something to be attained or something to be disdained according to taste? Other countries seem to stand upon their own ideas and infrastructure of belief...why does the USA have to be a type of something?

I think He will come back right when things are at their worst

Currently we're the best hope though, in terms of hope for freedom for the world.

The end will play out between charismatic political leaders, and a few wars.

when i think of America i can see how lucky the Americans are compared to some who live in poor countrys were dictatores run the countrys like north korea and china for example

when i think of America i can see the wealth this country has and i can see why so many flock to America


America has what most countrys want but as i look at the history and how America got to were it is know


i can see why many look to America


this is what i have observed from my side of the world america has grown i like the forests and i like the rocky mountains i like the towns that i have seen when watching national Geographical channel



But i would not handle seeing tornadoes and twisters and having to put up with what you guys are so use to

I think there are many believers in the US, that at times in history they have sought to establish their country according to God's will, that the country has prospered over the years... but there is a malignant sickness, a cancer, eating away at it's heart. America great exports at the moment are things like entertainment and pornography, there are many people profitting from this, while other cultures can't cope with the onslaught on their values.
You have a president who says he is a Christian but lies so that he can go in and invade other countries for oil, where are the weapons of mass destruction?
No wonder the arabs look at the US and think Christians must all be liars.
I think the rich have grown richer while the poor can't even afford hospital treatment. Why isn't there medical care for all Americans?
There's gangster rap, all that anti-woman stuff... starting to pervade other western countries.
Some horrible things have come from the US and for us living in other countries we sometimes brace ourselves when we find out what the next new fad is.
There's also all the fast food stuff, rich corporations, suing each other over ridiculous things lol, crazy sitcoms and white picket fences. We get Oprah, Ellen, Dr Phil, CSI, Desperate Housewives, The OC, Ghostwhisperer etc. and we end up thinking that these things are "Americans". Oh and Judge Judy, she has got to be a very funny American to watch.

Having said that, I believe there are many good Americans. (Like you lot!) But its the bad stuff that gets our attention, but unfortunately it's also the bad stuff which gets assimilated into our cultures.
I hope that the US has revival and gets back to the way God wanted it to be. I have friends who went to IHOP and came back very fired up so it looks like it's happening and I am greatly encouraged by this forum, in which I see many people who are seeking what God wants and debating the word... although they may disagree a lot theologically I think that it is great to look into these things and keep going back to the Word of God. Unfortunately we in Aus don't seem to have as much rigorous debate going on.

I am so sick and tired of reading excuses about why the little Arabs think we are so bad. So you think that our President is why they don't believe us? You have no clue do you?????

They believe the garbage they do because first of all...they are in league with the Anti-christ and will follow him.

Also....the two finger salute is for the Longhorns which is the Univ. in Texas that one of their daughters went to. Univ. of Texas students do that salute all the time. Texas is also known as not only the Lone Star State...but the Longhorn State as well.

When I think of America....I think of America from the begining was a courntry for a "new start".....and for "freedoms"......she is a "baby" compared to Europe, China, Africa and other nations concerning its "birth" and "growth".

We're just over 200 years old.....give us a "---" break. Give us time to mess up like the rest of you....

America has been blessed, but it has not been without blood, sweat and tears. America is like a person. It has a heart for God and counry. It understands how precious "freedom" is....and why we are willing to send in our troops to help others who want "freedom". Just like a person, it maybe a new creation in Jesus Christ, but it still fights the "sin" factor. Where once it walked, in the Spirit, it is now walking in the "flesh".

No other country gives like Americians to "help" others. Her people, give to charities to help people all over the world.....to build water well, hospitals, schools, and etc for people they don't even know. We give to help feed children, to fly Jews to Israel, hospital ships and groups of medical doctors who do surgeries all over the world. We give here at home to the poor and needy. Aliens, come and get free medical, education, and help that even Americans can't get! You can come here and work and have "your own home", "cars" and etc, if your are willing to work! Many counties it takes both parents each having two jobs each just to make $400 to $700 dollars a month!

America is not made of gold, our streets are no paved with gold, and the average person has to work very hard to have a "good life". Our internal structor was not made to have such a high demand from Aliens being here, and taking from the system. We are by nature a generous people toward others. But, we are getting feed up with those who "take" and "do not give" and scream and yell for "more".....We have dropped the "debts" of nations and some nations just have never payed us back.

With the influx of many different people comes with it the "good" and the "bad"......good people who want "freedom" and want a "better life"......and we get evil people who kill and mulitate our loved ones, who have come out of prisions, and are involved in gangs and drugs. Who have come to plunder, and take and kill.

America is changing by all kinds of infulences......and Americians are still shocke by the "evil" it sees here and abroad. Many Americans don't like what Hollywood "sells" to us here and abroad. We don't like the evil and smut....that is becoming a "norm"......we don't like the "Marxist" take over of our schools, universties, and this country by the "far left"......we don't like the break down of morals and respect of others we are seeing here.

Christians here are "soft"......they talk the talk.....but don't walk the walk. Churches have become an Entertaining Center not a place of Worship. Churches have become "big business"....using Wall Street Marketing Companies to get more money from their people. The Churches care more about what the world thinks than what God thinks! And now the Churches are saying "you can have your cake and eat it too".....you don't have to "change".....just tag Jesus on to what you believe. There is no hell....

How many Churches and Christians are down on their knees praying for this country and our President.....no matter who the President. Many Christians that I know of....won't pray for the President if they don't like him. I prayed for Presidnets I didn't like.....but he still needed our prayers.
God doesn't ask the unbelievers to get on their knees and pray for their leaders....He asks us, believers!

And God will not be "mocked" much futher.....it is God who has Blessed this country.....it is God who has made us "a becon" on the Hill to futher His work. But, America will lose her blessings if she does not turn from the "lustful" ways and following after "other gods"....

The Muslims have taken over the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Indo-China, and it is working on Canada and the US......we all need to wake up.......our way of life depends on it. I don't care what Arabs think of us!!! They want to rule the world! America at her worst is still not as bad as the Muslim world.....who control, manipulate, and mutilate their people....for not obey religious rules! So give me a "frigging" break.....

I may not like what is taking place.....in the US.....but I am not into "bashing it to pieces".....go live in a Muslim country and act as you please.....dress as you please.....read your Bible or witness to others.....and see how far you will get away with it.....

America has a lot of things "wrong" within it.....but she also has a lot of "good"......we need to stop "bashing" and get down on our knees and start praying.....for her. But, most would rather "bash" than "pray"......

It's not to say that we think the United States is flawless. It most certainly is not. But we are far from being the worst.

And it is those from Europe and nations around the world who like to point the finger at us and greatly forget just how much evil is in their own nations.

I agree Chole.....it is a lot easier to point fingers at the US instead of themselves. Most of Europe would have been under the Nazi boots if it wasn't for the USA....for our men and women died for their "freedom". All we (the USA) asked for, for our loved ones who died was for a small burial plot in France...How soon, one forgets! I am sure there are many in France and Belgium who do not like the way things are going....and have to stay in their homes at night due to Muslim violence. That's one reason why they speak with a gag in their mouth.....not to inflame the Muslim population.

I met some Aussies.....and New Zealanders.....and the first thing they told me was that, they did not forget Americans coming into the fight in the Pacific.....and help them from being over run, by the Japaneese. You Assies and New Zealanders.....three cheers for you! And God Bless you! And I like the way you handle the Muslims in your country.....we here in the US could "learn" from YOU!!!

We had some Russian young people over for dinner last night. They work with my husband at the Port.
A program between Russia and the US, with building business in shipping in area of the USA. I asked them what they thought of the Russian Orthodox Church in another city, and they grinned and laughed. That's not worship....it's entertainment and wanting more money. Sadly, but true.....many churches behave the same way. We talked about Israel, the Rapture, the Anti-Christ, and Jesus' return. I hope I got a chance to plant "seeds"......they do read the Bible. They spoke of their police being very corrupt, no one goes to them, because they are just as bad as the bad guy......they speak of a lot of corruption. These are students from University....two girls and one boy. I truly liked them, and felt close to them.

Osha (one of the girls) made us Borsh....we never had it....it was wonderful ......yum! Not at least what I expected. We will keep in contact with them when they leave. My husband is "grandfatherly" toward them....he teases and laughs with them. They love to tease and laugh. We've made extra sandwiges for lunch for them, give them extra food they are saving their money to visit more of the US before the go home in December. I made them "biscuts and gravy and sausage" for breakfast and told them that it was more of a pioneer type of meal....that we still like to eat....and made them an "apple pie" for dessert after we had dinner.....which they really enjoyed.

We are so blessed here......so many Americans don't realize how much we do have.....and the freedoms that we have.

I agree that all pornography is evil, I don't believe the European Union allows child porn though. I believe that governments co-operate internationally to catch child porn users.

As White Knight says, there is good and bad in all countries. I could be quite frank and tell you what I think of my own country and the one I have chosen to live in, but that would be another thread.

I'm not sure about arabs being "little" ??? Yes they are deceived by Islam. Its sad that so many of them don't hear about the Lord.

But anyhow, take care. I was just being open, I would say that most people in Europe and Australia would be a lot more negative though. Do you not see yourself that America (and any other country for that matter) has stuff wrong with it? That the way countries can be perceived by others can also be a whole other thing? That opinions are based on things like the TV, the latest news, how leaders react and gossip on the internet?
I think the safest thing to be is a sojourner, we are citizens of heaven, this world will never satisfy us. It will never live up to what we want it to be.... our home is heaven!
To that end, I will leave any more comments. I know my opinions have been coloured by what I see in the media, I try not to do that and I am sorry for offending you. I am sure America has many good points and that you are grateful to live there.

As far as the porn industry goes.....from what I understand....European pornography is known to include children. Not all of it...but if someone wants to buy that...they can.
