DOHERTY: NEW SCIENTIFIC DATA JUSTIFIES REPEALING GLOBAL WARMING RESPONSE ACT

URGES STATE TO HOLD OFF ON DAMAGING NEW REGULATIONS AS CLIMATE CHANGE THEORIES CLASH

Responding to various new scientific reports questioning the concept of global warming, Assemblyman Michael Doherty today called on Governor Corzine to hold off on proposing any new regulations associated with the state’s Global Warming Response Act and urged the Legislature to repeal that act when it returns to legislative business after Labor Day.

“There are many credible members of the scientific community who have questioned the theory of global warming, and now we have some scientists actually suggesting the earth’s temperatures may be entering a period of dramatic cooling,” said Doherty, R-Warren and Hunterdon. “With this growing level of scientific uncertainty, it makes no sense to enact a new set of economically damaging regulations prompted by the global warming hysteria of recent years.”

The Global Warming Response Act was signed last year by Corzine, which requires the state to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 20 percent by 2020 and 80 percent by 2050. The law required the state Department of Environmental Protection to release a report detailing how the state would meet the goals, with recommendations now expected to be issued this fall.

According to recent news reports, a top observatory that has been measuring
sun spot activity predicts that global temperatures will drop by two degrees over the next 20 years as solar activity slows and the planet drastically cools down. They suggest this could potentially herald the onset of a new ice age. Following the end of the sun’s most active period in over 11,000 years, the last 10 years have displayed a clear cooling trend as temperatures post-1998 leveled out and are now decreasing.

Earlier this year, John Coleman, the founder of The Weather Channel, stated that manmade global warming is “the greatest scam in history,” adding, “I am amazed, appalled and highly offended by it. Global Warming; It is a scam.” Coleman said the theory of global warming is based on fraudulent science.

“New Jersey’s tax and regulatory climate is already chasing jobs from this state left and right and these new regulations will make matters worse,” Doherty said. “Rather than conforming our policies to questionable scientific theories, we should be looking at the concrete economic indicators that show our state’s economy is in trouble. And we should be taking steps to help people who are losing jobs and being forced out of their homes by this state’s anti-economic growth agenda – not making matters worse.”

It's a fact that we have a major hole in the Ozone layer.

It's a fact that all this pollution from vehicles and factories is not good for people or plants to breath and causes terrible diseases and acid rain.

And I have a hard time believing that these chemicals are not harming our planet and playing a part in the heating up of our planet.

In Revelations...it talks about the sun scorching men. This sounds very much like Global warming to me.

However...here is something very interesting.
............................

The Two House Story....

House #1 A 20 room mansion (not including 8 bathrooms) heated by natu ral gas. Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest
house, all heated by gas. In one month this residence consumes more
energy than the average American household does in a year. The
average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2400. In natural gas alone, this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not situated in a Northern or Midwestern 'snow belt' area. It's in the South.

House #2 Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university. This house incorporates every 'green' feature current home construction can provide. The house is 4,000 square feet (4 bedrooms) and is nestled on a high prairie in the F ONT face="Eras Medium ITC" color=black size=4>American southwest. A central closet in the house holds geothermal heat-pumps drawing ground water through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground. The water (usual ly 67 degrees F.) heats the house in the winter and cools it in the summer. The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas and it consumesne-quarter electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Wastewaterf rom showers, sinks and toilets goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the & amp;nb sp;cistern. The collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Surrounding flowers and shrubs native to the area enable the property to blend into the surrounding rural landscape.

~~~~~
HOUSE #1 is outside of Nashville , Tennessee ; it is the abode of
the 'environmentalist' Al Gore. (An 'inconvenient truth'. )
HOUSE #2 is on a ranch near Crawford ,
T exas ; it is the residence the of the President of the United States ,
George W. Bush.
P.S. The first man received a Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts related to so-called 'global warming' and thinks he is a 'leader'.
The second man is broadly reviled by so-called 'liberals' as being dumb and not a good leader.
I believe the story of two houses proves that both men have been wrongly judged.
Snopes.com confirms the accuracy.
i'm very concerned about chemicals, oil, antifreeze, etc going into our land , streams,
and acid rain, the ozone problem, erosion of topsoil,
farm herbicides going into our streams,
sediment (dirt) going into our streams,
depletion/pollution of groundwater,
air pollution
possible radiation fallout from a nuclear plant
many people have ruined their health and fitness with junk food and no exercize,
(who will fight our wars ,,,,,,,,,if we're all fat and weak?)
the nation is financially weak
spiritually weak and depraved
spiritually corrupted
and i could go on
but i think the satanists have abused the FEDERAL WETLANDS PROTECTION LAWS to stop us from using our land,,,,,,,they want to move most people into big cities, where we'll all ride the subway (no cars), we'll have no freedoms,
the satanists will control the land and people...........and i think the GLOBAL WARMING scare is just another tool in their toolbox to accomplish this purpose
it's far easier to limit our freedoms and knowledge if we have no mobility (no cars)
only the satanists would have mobility around the countryside,,,,,,,,that is their dream
carbon dioxide in the air does not cause GLOBAL WARMING.........water vapor in the air is far more effective as a greenhouse gas............a CLIMATE EXPERT said so
most scientists have destroyed their credibilty with the evolution-preaching,,,,,,,,so i don't know who is telling the truth..........i don't have a college education in CLIMATE
remember, we're in the ENDTIMES............good is supposed to be suppressed............evil is supposed to flourish............that is the DEFINITION of the endtimes
it will be worrisome,,,,,,but we were warned afore-time
let's let our little light SHINE!
Most-serious greenhouse gas is increasing, international study finds
Vince Stricherz vinces@u.washington.edu
Scientists know that atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide have risen sharply in recent years, but a study released today in Paris reports a surprising and dramatic increase in the most important greenhouse gas -- water vapor -- during the last half-century.
The buildup of other greenhouse gases (those usually linked with climate change) is directly attributable to human activity, and the study indicates the water vapor increase also can be traced in part to human influences, such as the buildup of atmospheric methane. However, other causes not directly related to humans must also be at work, said Philip Mote, a University of Washington research scientist who is one of seven lead authors on the report.
"Half the increase in the stratosphere can be traced to human-induced increases in methane, which turns into water vapor at high altitudes, but the other half is a mystery," said Mote. "Part of the increase must have occurred as a result of changes in the tropical tropopause, a region about 10 miles above the equator, that acts as a valve that allows air into the stratosphere."
Readings of water vapor increases 3 to 10 miles up are more ambiguous, Mote said.
The international study, produced by 68 scientists in seven countries as part of the World Climate Research Programme, examined only the changes at higher altitudes, 3 to 30 miles above sea level.
Although carbon dioxide has been relatively easy to monitor and increases have been observed since the 1950s, water vapor has proven much more difficult to monitor. The new effort for the first time was able to draw conclusions about the behavior of water vapor based on a large number of measurements during a long period of time. The report covered both the upper troposphere (3 to 10 miles high), where trends are harder to detect, and the stratosphere (10 to 30 miles high).
"A wetter and colder stratosphere means more polar stratospheric clouds, which contribute to the seasonal appearance of the ozone hole," said James Holton, UW atmospheric sciences chairman and expert on stratospheric water vapor. "These trends, if they continue, would extend the period when we have to be concerned about rapid ozone depletion."
Atmospheric heating happens when the Earth's atmosphere and surface absorb solar radiation, while cooling occurs when thermal infrared radiation escapes the atmosphere and goes into space. If certain key gases that absorb and emit infrared radiation, the most important being water vapor and carbon dioxide, were not present in the atmosphere, Earth's temperature would cool to minus 19 degrees celsius, or minus 2 degrees Fahrenheit. The global annual mean temperature is 14 degrees celsius.
Key findings of the water vapor assessment are:
* Ground-based, balloon, aircraft and satellite measurements show a global stratospheric water vapor increase of as much as 2 parts per million by volume in the last 45 years, a 75 percent jump.
* Modelling studies by the University of Reading in England show that since 1980 the stratospheric water vapor increase has produced a surface temperature rise about half of that attributable to increased carbon dioxide alone.
* Methane, which has been increasing in the atmosphere since the 1950s, could be contributing to the water vapor increase. Chemical conversion of methane to water vapor occurs in the stratosphere but can only account for at most half of the water vapor increase.
A satellite record of relative humidity data for the upper troposphere shows a 2 percent increase during the last 20 years in the equatorial region. However, the uncertainty in this determination is too large to allow a clear conclusion as to whether this is part of a long-term trend.
Among other things, the report recommends continuing to launch balloons monthly from Boulder, Colo., as a means to measure water vapor, a low-cost effort that nevertheless faces possible discontinuation. The balloon measurements, dating from 1981, are the only continuous record of water vapor.
Holton said the report is significant because, by careful comparison, it largely has resolved contradictions in measurements among a number of instruments.
