Full Version: God's Gift Of Love

I used to think the gift of love was when God gave me someone who loved me.
I was wrong. The gift of love can be a passion for someone, we cannot even see.
No hope or expectation of love returned. Don't even know the next time we'll meet.
Not seeing with your eyes, does not make the fragrance of love less sweet.

It intensifies it!

Where I live grows a flower, simple white and beautiful.
I do not need to hold in my hand or see with my eyes to enjoy it, for it's fragrance is heavenly.
It only visits me for a short time, but the memory of it's fragrance stays with me, till it visits me again.

Thank you Don. Sweet words of TRUTH and the TRUTH is we all needed to hear this!

It is a balm to my soul.

Thank you Susan, it blesses me to know that I was able to bless you. 1dsz5e4.gif

Here's something else that I wrote about the gift of love, a while back when I saw a young couple with a baby.

I saw love with my own eyes, it was real, beautiful, sweetness and light.
As sweet as it was, it was not mine, but it gave me hope.
Love is a gift of God. Do we cherish that gift when it comes?
Do we hold it close and thank God for his blessings.
He freely gives the gift of love, to the lowest of the low.
Who has not received, the love of brother, sister, friend or best of all a lover?
They comfort us when we are sad, strengthen us when we are weak.
The highest joy is in creating a new life, a joy that lasts a lifetime.
Grandchildren, great-grandchildren you may never know bear witness to that love.

Don,
Beautiful thoughts to contemplate, thanks for sharing. My father was impressed by Mother Theresa (although he wasn't catholic and neither am I, we can still benefit from her righteous example)...he told me a story he once heard:

A lady was so impressed by Mother Theresa, that she spent her last dime for a plane ticket from the US to Calcutta. When she finally met her at long last, she shared with her that her greatest desire was to do the things she was doing. Mother Theresa responded, it's not necessary to carry out great or grande missions, but whatever things you do, even the smallest things, do those with love.

God bless you,
Kim

I agree, when we show love to one another, we glorify God, for God is love.

And again, "where there is love, there is God".

God bless you Kim,

Don

I do appreciate the beauty of a simple dew kissed rose. I love all the flowers, plants and trees that God so graciously gives us and the delicious fruits that come from them. He is taking me back to the Garden, physically and spiritually.

Blessings to you signet,

Don
