If you are a Christians, what do you make of other Christians who do not share exactly the same Christian tenets as you? For instance, if you are evangelical, what do you make of Catholics, Baptist, Seven Day Adventists, Mormons, Full Gospel, Presbytarians, Jehovah Witness etc?

Would you evangelise or witness amongst people from other Christian denominations.

What would you have made of Arianism, gnosticism, docetism?

What do you make of a Christian who believes that evolution is responsible for the diversity of life on the planet?

I cannot chose anyone's path in life but my own pointus. And I can hope others give me the right of choice also.

Actually, what is going on is devolution. God makes it right the first time, and then we mess it up. It's just our way of contributing something. wink.gif

Dear Pointus,

You have many deep and difficult questions. I don't think they must all be answered before one becomes a believer, because if they were all answered before believing, where would faith come in? And if we were not saved through faith, wouldn't we be relegated to being robots (we must believe because there is no option not to (all the questions are already answered)? See my other reply to you about law/grace, but no one has the wisdom to answer the types of questions you are asking if not in dwelt with the Holy Spirit. Nor do I think people should use precious time to answer them when the real priority issue that should be discussed with a person that is not indwelt by the Holy Spirit is the gospel means of salvation. Once you choose grace over the law, then is the time for the renewal of the mind and Godly wisdom to deal wth the questions you asked.

The questions you asked are delt with in one's walk with the Lord (He answers them for us by renewing our - (our = those who believe) - minds).

The Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

--Reinhold Niebuhr

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will direct your paths.

Around 35 years ago, when Jesus converted me from atheism,

what you point out was one of the first things that struck me.

Nevermind the many openly anti-Christ "isms".

Plainly the many "Christian" groups can't all be right.

All claim to teach truth, but they often contradict.

Clearly someone must be wrong about something.

I concluded the diversity meant I could not safely depend on any man to be my leader.

That I could not safely join any existing name brand "Christian" group.

Yet all the "Christian" groups claim Bible justification for what they teach.

The New Testament is THE ONLY consensus accepted record of Jesus Christ.

All translations/versions of the New Testament proclaim Jesus is presently alive with power.

That God the Father made Jesus THE Lord of the universe.

I concluded that since I could read, I had to read it for myself.

What is says is what it says and either one believes it or one doesn't.

CAN the different church groups and peoples predict the future?

can the pope predict the future?

can the evolutionists predict the future?

no

ONLY the bible (the Christian God ) can predict the future the way the bible can..........He predicts the rise and fall of nations , thousands of years in advance,,,,,,,,,,,,,He predicted the end from the beginning

He predicted our free-will decisions, before we were ever born

He wrote the name of Cyrus in Isaiah, 150 years before Cyrus was born

so, ONLY the bible is reliable

if anyone teaches, we must check his words against our Bible

many oppose christ by twisting the scripture

many have not adequately studied the scripture, so they have a defective understanding of the bible

many want to indulge in a certain sin, or they love flashy show-biz, so they twist the scripture

many preach just for money ONLY,,,,,,,,,,,,,,that's a sin

many "christians" are fake

but
there are a Few who love Christ and bible, and they earnestly love the True Scripture

Jesus wrote the bible so that we can understand it............there is no "private" interpretation of scripture

all people know what the bible says.............but many hate what it says, so they twist the scripture

Paul said

show me a

evangelical, what do you make of Catholics, Baptist, Seven Day Adventists, Mormons, Full Gospel, Presbytarians, Jehovah Witness etc?

and

Arianism, gnosticism, docetism

I would ask them to prove to me that God gave the word to you.

1Thes 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

then I would show them that God gave is word to Israel.

Israel job is to teach the son's of Adam.

God did not give his word to evangelical, what do you make of Catholics, Baptist, Seven Day Adventists, Mormons, Full Gospel, Presbytarians, Jehovah Witness Arianism, gnosticism, docetism etc?

never have never will

Rom 3v
1: What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?
2: Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.

Rom 9v
1: I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,
2: That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.
3: For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
4: Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;

where is the above denominational at in these verse?

Mar 12:9 What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.

many Jews rejected christ,,,,,,,,,,and Christ gave the vineyard (the ministry of preaching God's Word) to others (the gentiles)

10 Brothers and sisters i encourage all of you in the name of our lord Jesus christ to agree with each other and not to split into opposing groups i want you to be united in your understanding and opinions

11 Brothers and sisters some people from chloes family have made it clear to me that you are quarreling among your selves

12 This is what i mean each of you is saying i follow paul or i follow Apollos or i follow cephas or i follow christ

13 Has christ been divided ? was paul crucified for you were you baptized in pauls name ?

18 The message about the cross is nonsense to those who are being destroyed but it is Gods power to us who are being saved

just as what pointus has put up with out looking or reading for him self we see this today with in the broader christian community

i like how paul dealt with this and we also looked at how paul delt with this

christ cant be divided tho division is ripe with in the body to were christians cant get on with each other some say we have it right while others say we have it right

also seeking the gifts and walking in the gifts and speaking in tongues is off the devil but i hear many chrsitians putting fear into new believers and say speaking in tongues is off the devil

as i said i like hearing the prophetic word being preached i like ussing the gifts god has given me and i speak in tongues and gods spirit moves freeley among us

i tend to also stick to John 17 and try to walk in unity with my brothers and sisters in the lord

sadly this cant even happen on this forum

you are smart enough you do have a brain you dont need us always responding as i feel you are not seriouse by what you leave in this forum

though i wil pray that god opens your eyes and i will pray that he reveals him self to you

i think it is rick joiner, who had a vision called the hordes of hell are marching. in that vission he saw a lot of things, but the thing that struck me the most, was the mountain he and the other christians had to climb. it represented basically their growth in God. there were different levels on the mountain and many people stayed behind on each level. when he reached the top Rick spoke to whom he believed was Christ. Christ explained to him later on that every person staying behind on the mountain are still going to enter the Kingdom when the battle is over, but if it were not for them, he and others would not have reached the top. these people staying behind on the different levels where people who held onto their believes even though others might have tought that they were out of line.

that made me realise that even that mormon priest that i know, that seventh day adventist family, those couple of roman catholics, that tradition bound family, holding onto their faith, might have deposited truths into my life that brought me to where i am today. if it weren't for them, i might have still been in the world and in the dark.

the church is under constant attack, and if satan could cause discord in the body of Christ, he does not have to do much else to cause chaos. remember, many church members truly believe that, what they believe are right and they have the way heaven. the basic that we need to agree on is that Jesus, the Son of God has died for our sins and He is the ONLY way to heaven. secondly that the Word is the only true Word of God, and that The Holy Spirit has to be acknowledged in our lives.

please try not to judge others for what they believe, rather pray that God will deepen their relationship with Him and take them into the Throne Room for that life changing experience.
