Miki....

Is that your greenhouse?

I have always wanted to build one. I loved these photos.

What a pretty backyard.

If I can figure out how to get pictures from my cell phone onto the computer....or if my digital camera is working...I'll take some pictures of my flowers (and my one tomato plant that I'm looking forward to harvesting the tomatos from) and post them here.

I just don't know how to do that.
Pamela
Miki that is a peaceful scene in your yard...

The colors are so beautiful!

Saw a pic from you like this before Miki...indeed you do have a nice arrangement....love it...no offence..the stand in the left foreground reminds me of King David's throne...ha!
IrishRose
Maz, I just noticed that now that you mentioned it. It really does.. like there should be the Ark of the Covenant there, but where is the Holiest of Holies?? Miki, is there something you aren't telling us?? wink.gif

When I was in the army they gave me "the whole nine yards" I think I have them somewheres still....

Isn't the Lord's creation good. I have every color there even if it doesn't show...And the smell!!

Nasturtiums and the fragrant purple petunias..also lavender..I get to see it out my Kitchen window and when there's a breeze the fragrance drifts throughout the house. What more could anyone want from a yard... except fresh veggies...

That set up does look a little like a throne...It's just an old piece of a church gate l found at a thrift store once.. Google greenhouse chloe...The best ones are the small homemade ones. I've seen them constructed out of old windows. Researcher...You have a friendly looking tree..A couple of bamboo screens and you're good to go..And Linda my sunflowers are planted in containers too.
They're the giants also but stunted because of the containers. They drink about a gallon a day. Not the sunflower to the right of the church gate though...It came up from birdseed l'd thrown.

I was thinking of the housing crisis and how so many are root bound in their homes right now. Forced to grow and bloom where they're planted. That's the thing l realized about container gardening this year. You have to water and feed constantly or you lose them. But a good gardner tends his plants...And if you keep them close to the house it's easier to tend them...

The Lord replanted me a few years ago and told me "Your personal convenience is not my immeadiate ultimate will for you, but that you should grow where you are planted." Sometimes I wonder if He planted me close to His house or not.

We reap what we sow. But he's with us

and for our own good

he molds our circumstances whether we see it or not...but l know you know that.

Hang in there. We all sit on the edge of our beds at night wondering at times...

Eliyahuzion...What do you bet... the Lord has a cool yard...

Oh Miki, I am not a good gardener. I try. But every year- my garden gets away from me. Even my "yarden" seems to get away from me.

Your pictures are beautiful! What a lovely place the Lord has blessed you with. May you tend to it and glorify Him in doing so.

Miki....

You are doing a fabulous job of keeping yours growing. But the heat where I am has been really hard on mine. I come home from work some days....and I've watered them the previous evening....and they are droopy.

Do you use Miricle Grow on all yours? I use that all the time...but this year I tried something else. They didn't do as well.

Anyway....I love the look of them. I really like the hot orange looking ones on the table.
Miki
Nasturiums...The aphids like them too.

I do fertilize regulary. Container growing is only for people who are home alot. I water 2 and 3 times a day. I wonder if my giant sunflowers will make it. I've never grown them in containers before.
happy2Bfree
Yes....I've seen them. Yours are just beautiful Miki.

I usually stick with the ones that do so well for me, and that is Impatients and Begonias. I need to branch out and try more.

I also like Hostas. They do very well here in Missouri.

I did plant some purple Tulips and a white Rose bush and another flowering bush and a tree, this spring.

I hope they live. This heat has been very bad.

My girls laugh at me when its Spring time. They know I would spend my whole paycheck on plants if I could.

(Laughing) My oldest was taking me by the arm and saying...."come on Mom....you don't need anymore flowers....lets go this direction.."

Miki,

Absolutely beautiful and peaceful. One of the joys of spring and summer are the wonderful aroma's. I really enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of summer. Ah, one more thing? That Cat is a lucky fellow who appears to be enjoying a kat nap. What a life.

How God harmanized everythng to fit together perfectly is absolutely mind boggling.

Thanks for sharing.

Nasturtiums are easy to grow by seed as are Marigolds... and they reward all season. One seed head from a Marigold will give you all you need for the next year. Thanks thrice HeReigns..

My cats like the protection offered by a full patio..and a door that's always cracked to run to safety in the summer.

BEAUTIFUL GARDEN/YARD! What a gift!

I flushed this fellow out of my plum tree while mowing the lawn this afternooon. I thought it might be a barred owl so l looked it up. Sure enough.
I thought the write up was interesting...

QUOTE
DESCRIPTION, SENSES: Barred owls are large owls with round heads and NO ear tufts. They are brownish-gray with brown and white bars across their chest. (That’s why they’re called "barred" owls.) Their legs are covered with feathers. The barred owls’ eyes are dark brown, while most other owls have yellow eyes. Their beaks are sharp, but very small, so they are almost covered up by facial feathers. Owls can see very well at night, but they can also see during the day. They have a special inner eyelid which blocks bright sunlight - owl sunglasses!

Nasturtiums are taking over the world...at least mine seem to be. A couple little seeds and they crowded out my tomatoes and grew over the sidewalk.

I imagine heaven looks like Miki's yard, and each of us gets one! (At least I hope so!) Containers. . . frequent watering . . . fertilizing . . . I'm learning a lot here, and I'm going to try one of those plants (not sure which to start with) and see how it goes. But what do you recommend for fall/winter? Pansies? I'd love to have something all year long. Right now what I have is my children, but surely I could find time for 3 or four large pots. Thanks so much for sharing the beauty and inspiration, Miki!
Miki
This Barred Owl sat in this American Ash Tree for over 3 hours.

He flew from my Plumb Tree across the fence to the neighbors yard. This picture is taken across that fence. Being this close l was able to see the fear in the eyes of this bird at the sound of the mower.

Interesting to be able to observe the facial expression of a bird.

I spelled Plum Tree wrong in the previous post and wouldn't have gotten the picture had l not noticed it and gone back to change it...He flew across the fence...God used the American Ash a season ago with me to Show that the fruit was ripe and not a single berry was on the ground. In this image most are on the ground.

7Thus he shewed me: and, behold, the LORD stood upon a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in his hand.

8And the LORD said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the LORD, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more:

Visions of judgments to come upon Israel.

God bears long, but he will not bear always with a provoking people. The remembrance of the mercies we formerly received, like the produce of the earth of the former growth, should make us submissive to the will of God, when we meet with disappointments in the latter growth. The Lord has many ways of humbling a sinful nation. Whatever trouble we are under, we should be most earnest with God for the forgiveness of sin. Sin will soon make a great people small. What will become of

Israel, if the hand that should raise him be stretched out against him? See the power of prayer. See what a blessing praying people are to a land. See how ready, how swift God is to show mercy; how he waits to be gracious. Israel was a wall, a strong wall, which God himself reared as a defence to his sanctuary. The Lord now seems to stand upon this wall. He measures it; it appears to be a bowing, bulging wall. Thus God would bring the people of Israel to the trial, would discover their

wickedness; and the time will come, when those who have been spared often, shall be spared no longer. But the Lord still calls Israel his people. The repeated prayer and success of the prophet should lead us to seek the Saviour. (Am 7:10-17)

Is what's good for the Goose good for the Gander? I say yes...
