I always pray for my wife before she goes to work. Part of that prayer is always for her safe passage in her car drive to the hospital and home again. So yesterday whille I was at work she was due to head off also and when she attempted to start her car it would not start...not even a groan...totally dead. She attempted to start it several times to no avail. Luckily, my mother lives next door and she was able to borrow her car to go to work...but she lost a fair amount of time and that caused a delay. She called me at work to tell me of the situation and so I came home expecting to have to lift the hood and investigate. I thought I will just attempt to start the car first, and when I got in and gave it a crank it fired up straight away as it always has in the past. No one had tinkered with it at all. It just sat there waiting for my professional ministering of a booster cable or a screw driver...yet I needed none...it started...and after several attempts at reveres engineering the situation, it still started as always. Today I had an inner witness that the Lord had prevented the car from starting in order that a situation she would have encountered had past. I think she was saved from a serious accident in that delay that came. I thank God for it....
On another note I have had an expensive kitchen faucet that had started to act up on the weekend. It had never given us trouble in the four years it has been installed. But it began to drip and then to pour a steady stream of water and it was very annoying...I got out the screw driver and hammer and skill saw and every widget known to man and tried to fix the faucet...a Moen...and I had the schematic for the complex inner parts...but I could not loosen the inner parts and was creating incipient damage to the brass fitting...especially with my skill saw...(ha!) I had to just put it all together as it was rather than fix it...I figured a plumber would save the day at a fair cost since they want $169 to just show up...but we left it for later. So when I got up on Sunday morning it was dripping...and dripping and dripping...and kerplunking in the sink with that Chinese water torture kind of sound. I said a prayer over it and asked the Lord to make it stop. My wife said a prayer over it also a short time later....about noon we went to the kitchen and realzed the tap was no longer dripping...it was quite snug and working just like new...and it still is...my skill saw remains in the box and my tap got fixed by God... I have to think out loud...God is a better plumber than me....but I can take that....
