My children and I participated in a community service camping trip to help a Christian couple who are opening a retreat for ministry purposes.
Thier lodge is very high in the mountains, very secluded.
We (our homeschool group of about 35 people, mostly children) were doing various jobs.
Sealing the wood lodge with water sealant (painting it on the wooden building) putting insulation under the structure and sheet rock inside.
The woman who owns the property was on a very high ladder helping with the sealant.
The ladder began to slide. She rode the ladder down about 15 feet and hit her head.
She was unconscience for several minutes then couldn't not remember what had happened.
We treated her for shock and managed to make a call to 9-1-1 .
Her husband had to ride an ATV about a mile or two to get a signal. It took the flight for life about an hour and a half to find us.
They air lifted her out .
It was very scarey to all of us.
She was diagnosed with a serious concusion and brain swelling. She was released from the Hospital and is being closely monitored.
Please pray for her full recovery.
Pray for me also, I feel so quilty. I was right there. It happened so fast. I was planning on holding the ladder for her, but briefley grabbed something. I also could not get to the ladder in time to stop the slide. There was a small child between me and the ladder. My son also feels guilt because he positioned the ladder for her. It was on the lower deck, propped against the shorter upper deck.
It is a miracle no one else was injured and Praise God Sue was not hurt worse.

I'll lift her (and you and son) in prayer!
Just know - the Lord knows everything before it happens - the end from the beginning. Good will come out of this.

Miche,
I will be lifting this woman up to our Lord in prayer.
Miche, please try to throw that guilt chip off your shoulders and speak with your son about doing the same. Accidents happen! Things happen for a reason and only the Lord knows the why's. Instead of feeling guilty, feel grateful. Thank God for allowing this woman good health in spite of the fact that she fell off a ladder.
Miche, you will all be in my prayers.
In Christian Love,
Al

A heavy concusion will heal with rest, normally 4-8 weeks. No labor or it will lead to permanent damage.
A ladder has to be held at all times, and must stand perfectly horizontal at the base.

Update. (thanks Bob for asking)
Sue is feeling better. She is unable to work because she continues to be dizzy and nausiated. I am still praising God that she was not hurt worse and that no other person was injured. (apart from many bug bites)
Thank you again for all of your prayers.
Hugs to you all

Thank you for asking.
I spoke to Sue yesterday.
She is still feeling the effect.
Dizzy spells mostly.
She has had trouble returning to work.
However, she was blessed to tell me that she has been able to begin working with the two girls from the care net pregnancy center. She ministers to pregnant women who have contemplated abortion. She has two girls that she is working with who are keeping thier babies. PRaise God.
We have to believe that God works all things out for our good for those who love the Lord.....................
Sue loves the Lord.
