Full Version: Rough Day At The Office: Co Worker Blows Up

Today at work I got a call for another dept and since we were busy and I could clearly this individual was not in the least busy, I turned around, talked to him, explained the reason for the call and asked him if he would like to take the call. He snapped at me, yelled at me loud enough for everyone to hear and wonder what was the yelling about, and told me to drop the call he the queue. Well I went back to the call to help the patient nice fellow who was calling and the phone system dropped the call so he called back. I did exactly as my co-worker instructed me and put the call in the queue. In this way, the phone system decides who gets the call. Well, Andy, the guy who yelled at me screamed at the caller on his line that She (meaning me) should never have transfered the call to him. When I tried to explain to him, hey I was doing what you told me to do, he would even let get three words out when he got and started screaming at me so loudly the whole building could hear him, DON'T TELL ME HOW TO DO MY JOB! And screamed this at me no less than 10 times rapidly. I would quietly and politely try to say hey lets be civil and I would open my mouth and to begin speaking when he would start screaming at me again. Then on other calls he makes mention over and over again as if to emphasize the point for my sake, that he's ex-military and knows how to hurt people. That is why he's been a bouncer before.
First of all, I never have a had a problem with this guy, he has lost his temper often, screaming at people who call in that I know were nice. Now two other co-workers who normally are with me would usually step in and calm this guy down when he would start to blow his top but I was a one woman dept today being that the rest of my co-workers are scheduled off. Of course everyone else was busy and though every one witnessed this, they could only watch. So I went looking for a supervisor and all were gone. Then when this guy saw me looking around he made the comment to me, OH AND I AM COMPLAINING TO MY SUPERVISOR ABOUT YOU!! I AM SICK OF YOU! I do the same job he does, get 100% performance rating in atitude and productivity, and I answer far more calls and have far more many frustrations yet I've kept the cool because the Spirit gives me such a serene peace nothing bothers me. Something in my spirit tells me that this guy has a tendancy toward violence and I know that someday, he will hurt someone, it's a matter of time. After all he has 15 other people in his dept helping him and he gets far less calls then I do and he can't stand getting one call? How about the 80 to 100 I get a day and by myself!

I called a brother in Christ and he offered up encouragement. He is also a co-worker. He said there is no way that this can be ignored by management but what he did was an act of imtimdiatation that has no business being in a work place that is supposed to be team effort and be almost family. Please pray for me. I feel for Andy. I know its a tough lot to be born with a hot temper but if you are that irrate, the supervisors will support you if you act appropriately and come to them asking for help or for a break and they are more than willing to do whatever they can.

I think part of his issue too is he has a lot of negative things to say about women, and he just wants to feel powerful because he can over power a woman, but he can't stand up to my male co-workers.

Please pray I present this to my supervisor and he lestins to me and fixes this in such a way that I don't have to afraid to come to work. Please pray for me too that I can stay calm and act wisely throughout this whole thing.

I sent a detailed account by e-mail to my imediate supervisor.

I think that the demonic is in him and I think that you need prayer for protection. Trust your feelings you mentioned that

In these end of days the tares will become evident more and more. Evil will be more evil and will hate the light and you are a light! But God is our protector so we can go forward in His name!

Abba I lift up flyingsquirrel and ask that you surround her with Guardian Angels and Warrior Angels and keep her safe and we ask that the demonic be bound in Jesus's most precious name! We thank you Abba for hearing our prayers!!!

I think he's probably on the way out. If he really talks to customers as you have described, they will call his supervisor too. He's got some kind of problem....but it shouldn't have to be yours. Emailing the boss was a good call.

if this was done in australia he would have been sacked if he ignored the warnings that where given to him by his suppervisor

this is how things are done hear when a co worker behaves like this

no one should be bullied or talked to like that by a co worker and i pray that his suppervisor removes him

this attitude is not needed and if he cant handle the job he should not be there

please dont let him walk over you tell him that what he said had up set you and you are not going to put up with his behaviour

you should have the right to feel safe in your work place you should be able to do your job with out having to deal with what you just went threw

so sorry to hear this

God bless from damo

Amen to this.

I was in a similar situation once, where a supervisor was really getting in my face and threatening me, I was afraid we were going to come to blows (and I'm a very peaceful person). I prayed, "Lord please remove this situation" and I put it in his hands. The supervisor was transferred the next day. Never underestimate the power of prayer. I am praying for you. Do not be afraid, be strong and courageous and put it in God's hands. We are not called to fear men, only God. If God is for you, who can stand against you? No one.

Flyingsquirrel,

I will be in prayer over this situation. I am really going to be praying for you as well as your co-worker that blew up! As I read your thread I kept thinking: "What kind of emotional or/and physical misery is he going through"? But, with this much pent up anger and bitterness he could prove a danger to others in the workplace.

Gods Blessings,

Al

Flyingsquirrel, I lift you up as well as your co worker. Both of you need prayer.
Please God watch over these two persons and bless them and provide for them in the areas they need help until their cup flows over.
Lord, you know what they are going through, so please help them and if that person is not saved, please God save that person.
Also I pray that you would restore the co worker relation between the two. Heal whatever ills is/stands between them, so that can become friends and work together in harmony.

In Jesus name, I pray. 1dsz5e4.gif

Dear Father, render the evil spirit in this male co-worker powerless so that it flees into the next avialable plant. Our squirrel will not be touched or shouted at, in the name of Jesus.

Also, if there is going to be a next time, make sure that our squirrel is prepared with a recording device.
Here Am I
Praying for peace in your spirit, and that this situation would be resolved. I know how upsetting this is for you FS.

God Bless You,

God sure did intervene, he ended up confessing to my boss's boss, taking responsibility, apologizing, and agreeing that this would never happen again. I was praying that he would reform because in the long term, a hot temper hurts everyone. Thank the LORD! Thank you so much for your prayers and your encouragement, I know I can count on my friends here smile.gif
