I studied a bunch
But did not have a hunch
What I was called to do
Go this way or that?
Be a dog or a cat?
Song of Songs was the last clue.
I read Revelation
And encountered frustration
While eating my curds and whey
But it really is true
That it’ll bless you
If unveiled while you’re still on the way
Our minds can be molded
Or stuck shut with glue
They copy like silly putty
Take care what you read
And the things that you see
Turn your nose to His Word and study
To whom do we dance?
With whom do we play?
Who gets the stamp to lead?
Some leave it to chance
And fail to obey
True followers can’t be deceived
They call it faith
They call it belief
Some say they have their salvation
If they fail to obey
Thus causing much pain
They end up with deserved frustration
Some go this way
Some go that
Always embracing the task
They follow the road
And carry the load
And end up abundantly blessed
Some go this way
Some go that
All just avoiding the task
Lay down control
Don’t be so bold
Take the light instead of the mask
Some go this way
Some go that
Some even refuse to step out
These are the ones
Whom it’ll be over and done
Where are they headed, no doubt?
Paul’s words are sharp
And John’s are love
Peter is enthusiastic
Tim is so sweet
James moves the feet
But God is utterly fantastic!
What can I say?
These poems do play
Two roles instead of just one
They’ll be sweet to the real
Yet also reveal
Those straying away from the sun
These are daily devotions
Not the usual motions
They start with some poetry
What He wants you to do
Is eat His spiritual food
By comparing the scriptures to
To God be the Glory
Not ever to me
That’s why anonymously given
I hope it blesses you
As much as did me
Through it some may are called into liv’in
One warning to make
One thing I must ask
Does your leader just take?
Does he fulfill his true task?
Some advice I received
Straight from my maker
The only ones deceived
Are probably fakers
Another way to tell the truth
Check the action
Check the fruit
If the action looks good
But the fruit doesn’t ripen
The leaders in charge
Might be focused on stipend
Some might think
These poems do stink
With that I am clearly okay
It’s not really with me
That they are angry
He’s the one calling the play
Might I ask?
Might I inquire?
To whom you belong?
To whom you desire?
If you say to Him
Yet your sight is still dim
More study might be what is still required
His love is so sweet
It knocks you right off your feet
The Spirit will completely fill you
Emotions will rise
And double your size
The experience with Him proves true!
AMEN
Oh look someone new
What color are you?
In the rainbow glowing above
Fast take your place
Show him your face
Your answer will come from the Dove.
There is a feast
Of heaven’s fine treats
And you are duly invited
But if you delay
Or stray off the way
What will then be decided?
He sends them out
He calls them in
He washes them all about
Who can fathom His ways
During each of the days
Only He cleanses them of their sin
Adam is fission
Jesus is fusion
Fusion trumps fission’s great power
Which side do you take?
As you continually stake
Your life by each moment or hour
I beg you to come
I beg you to stay
Please without a delay
The Garden is sweet
And has lots of treats
For those who care enough to obey
He is up there
And I am down here
Doesn’t everyone seem to believe?
The rapture is true
And removes all that is blue
Once His action is funneled to land and to seas
The Garden is calling
And fire is falling
Do you desire to come?
If now’s not the time
Keep renewing the mind
It’s truly the only way home
Jesus loves me this I know
For only His children can tell me so
Those little ones to Him belong
Liv’in the beatitudes
Is their song
Yes, Jesus loves me
Yes, Jesus loves me
Yes, Jesus loves me
For He lovingly lets me know!
AMEN
Where do you live?
Where do you find shelter?
Where do you abide?
How bout the Garden?
Or does sun make you swelter?
Read His Word and decide…
Those who have struggles to see
Have a veil o’er their face
Might be idolatry
Here’s a suggestion
I simply must make
Rip off the veil
Prove that you’re not a fake
These poems are written
For those who are smitten
With Him as their great big love
1000 pieces of silver
Are promptly delivered
To those who stick to Him like a glove
Where are my friends
Where are they at
I know them when I see them
They are so sweet
And such a great treat
Are they angels or men?
The adversary strikes the feet
The Savior strikes the head
If you tend to be lazy
Or know too much
You’ll surely have something to dread!
Amen
If you think about Noah
If you think about Lot
You’ll see the clues the mystery’s got
Noah floated in the boat safely on the water
While Lot just barely escaped with his daughters
Two clues I’ll give you right at the start
Stay away from the fire
Don’t play a part
And embrace the boat
It’ll keep you alive
As soon as the waters begin to arrive
He is the Lion
And He is the Lamb
His eyes are just like the eagle
You’ll be he feet
That call them so sweet
Into a life that is regal
He is the Lion
He is the Lamb
His eyes are blazing like fire
If they get burned by the heat
They’ll come down the same street
Once they have the desire
So don’t bother to fret
Don’t bother to worry
That’s all a waste of time
Continue in love
And continue to study
He’ll help you to walk the straight line
So why all the fear?
Why all the us?
Over embracing faith, hope and love?
If you’ll let Him just steer
And control the whole bus
Rainbows unveil up above
Obedience hurts
When we see as the world
Ironically only death brings forth life
If you’ll purchase new glasses
The pin soon passes
And pleasure comes from the strife
AMEN
If you want to eat
Sit at His feet
And let go of the world around you
When you are through
They’ll be plenty to do
And your work will eternally continue
Where, then, can love be found?
Below the hill?
Or on top of the mound?
If I look hard
I’ll eventually see
Love is completely encircling me
AMEN
When the candle is lit
And the servant made fit
Through hours of diligent study
The credit should go
To the One who is owed
Otherwise the waters get muddy
Strangely enough
The One who owns all
Responds very generously
Once you let go
It doesn’t fall
Seems to defy gravity
Now to those who are wise
And have clear sighted eyes
Loved ones cause the most pain
Here is the key
Obey faithfully
And He’ll surely be removing the stain
Moms when you garden
In your own backyard
Have been faithfully plucked for the weeds
Then is the season
To begin your pleas’n
By giv’in away all your seeds
But remember on thing
That the Sword does so swing
Actually both of the ways
One side is sweet
The other brings heat
But shuttles them back, no delay
AMEN
Never hurry the plan
And force love to grow
Before it’s predestined time
When you stand on the throne
You’ll end up alone
And they’ll likely end up blind
AMEN
The system is set
And continually met
With those who think they can break it
But those who are wise
Yet appearing small to dim eyes
Prosper right through it
Some climb to the top
And fail to stop
That is the biggest shame
Others decide
That it is really not wise
To even enter the game
But there are those friends
Who study faithfully
And are shown the traps on both sides
The avoid both ends
Ever so diligently
And are rewarded their efforts likewise
What can one say?
About those who relay
The concept they’re already saved
If one doesn’t obey
Life dwindles each day
As they surrender, like slaves
Eyes to see
And ears to hear
Are very special to Him
Some do not hear
For they hold the world too dear
And others can’t see
Because it’s all about me
Yet either way it’s only their sin
That holds down their senses
And keeps them so dim
If you’ll take the straight road
And embrace the full load
You’ll find it’s really most wise
For those who endeavor escape
And don’t continually wait
Their burden is increased a like size
This is the truth
And if you’ll work for the proof
You’ll see it’s impossible to fail
This is His gift
And will give a lift
To those who embrace the tale
There was once a gal
Half Gentile, half Jew
Who reflected on life
But did not know what to do
She inquired of her maker
Who said He would take her
And pour through her
Something lovely and new
He said:
Friends would listen
And tears would glisten
As He confirmed those laboring in pain
His wisdom is enduring
And fully reassuring
Only to those who toil for the gain
The poems are over
I hope they delight
Get His word in the morn’in
Read it at night
One last thing
That I must say
Jesus is the one
Who shows us the way
