This morning I was given a set of numbers, to contemplate : ( July 7th, 2008, Monday )

About the meaning of 42 . . . .
Several years ago, I was under a specific requirement to locate some artistry work, of the `Star of David.`
I found a stain glass expert, who designed four (4) stained-glass-round-oak-wood hanging stained
glass pieces, for four windows in the front of my house.
She designed each of these four (4) stained glass art items, with my color selections
of : Van Gogh yellow and avocado green, with clear glass snowflakes.
12 glass panels are yellow

Many hours of enjoyment I have experienced from seeing these four (4) art items, hanging
in the four (4) windows of the front of my home.
Specific focus, was the center stained glass area of the clear glass with snow flake design,
of the `Star of David`, in the middle of the surrounding yellow and green outside, glass panel's.
Neighbors enjoyed seeing these from the road front, the sunlight was perfect to bring
these four (4) `Stars of David' . . . to be viewed by passing motor vehicles.
I always knew, that the 42 panels, the artist selected for each of these round oak items,
was going to be brought to my attention in the future.
I am sharing how, the 42 is very much a encoded theme of Jacob :
How does the 42 months ( 3 1/2 years) X ( times) 4 = 168 months parallel the 14 years
Jacob labored for his wives ?
The answer is, that 3 1/2 years + 3 1/2 years = 7
7 years of Leah, 7 years of Rachel = 14 years = 42 months X 4 = 168 months

So I see clearly how the prophecy timeline of the 42 months ( 3 1/2 years ) is connected
also to Jonah and the 120,000 people of Nineveh.
The 120,000 people of Nineveh is a parallel story of the 42 months and 1,260 days in Revelation 11:1-3.

I have another reason I think you are correct about these statement(s) :
Just turn around for a minute and look back at the years 2000-2007 and we can easily see the seven fat cows as seven fat years
It seems that we have crossed over the line into the [b]seven thin cows ! ?

Jonah, like Moses, is another archetypically shamanic figure. Similar to more contemporary shamanic accounts, for example the Angmagsalik Eskimos of Greenland who were eaten and regurgitated by bears (see Joan Halifax, Shamanic Voices), Jonah is rescued from drowning by being swallowed by a whale, stays intact for 3 days and is vomited up again. Thereupon he is isolated in the desert, having a vine appear overnight and be destroyed again by a worm.

The worm:
The angel is the first formulation of Spirit. It is naked fire. Delineated as a spark from the consuming fire of HaShem, the angel seeks a house but is incapable, on its own, of inhabiting one without causing its ultimate dissolution. The angel is a pillar of fire, a tongue of fire, a worm of fire. It achieves stability only when positioned in a lamp. Knowing this to be true, the angels rejoiced at the creation of earth.
"Worm" is a fitting metaphor for fire, which is the natural element of the angelic. A worm is all slopes-- all eshdat, "the manner of fire." It climbs tentatively, it burrows, it consumes its path. Divided, it is cloned. Water, in its free state, is its natural peril.
I am very intrigued, CSA. Could this be the worm that does not die?

Our Lord’s reference to the repentance of the Ninevites is particularly informative, and confirms our observations:
I am inclined, on the basis of the teaching of Jonah and that of our Lord, to see the “sign of the prophet Jonah” as two-fold. It is the “sign” of Jonah’s three day entombment in the great fish, from which he is released, alive. It is also the “sign” of Jonah, whose hardness of heart kept him from grasping what God was trying to teach him, regardless of how clear and forceful that message was, while at the same time this message is perceived and acted upon by the less well-informed Gentiles.
Jesus’ use of the account of the repentance of the Ninevites in Matthew chapter 12 accepts and affirms the impression which we gain from taking the narrative at face value. He confirms the fact that the Ninevites believed in God in spite of little evidence. Hearts that were open to the word and the will of God were quick to recognize it and respond to it. Hearts that were not so inclined—as was the case with Jonah’s heart—would not get the message, regardless of how clear it was.
