Hi all, I'd appreciate prayer for my Dad who went into the hospital last night because of seizures and slurring of speech. Since my Mom died this year he has been letting himself go. He has moved in next door to us very recently (a few days ago) so that we can care for him. We have been praying for my Dad for many years. I see God's timing here. He broke down yesterday (I have never seen him so vulnerable). He's scared. Please pray that God will give him a full repentance and that he will commit his remaining time to the Lord. Thank you.

Oh, John... my dad passed in February and was acting very strange the last year. I feel for your dad, and for you who has to see him go through this... I am so sorry that he is sick, and I am PRAYING HARD all day for him. I am sure he IS scared and I will pray that the Lord delivers him from his non-repentance and gives him plenty of time to accept HIS SALVATION. In the Lord's mighty NAME, AMEN!!!

I'm so sorry John. I pray for him to be touched by God and if it is his time then he will no longer fear what, one day, has to be for all of us. My mother also fears death and it breaks my heart to see it. She, a healthy 86 year old, can't come to terms with it. She loves God but has doubts about many things.


I pray for your father and you....May God grant him the "full repentance" you feel he needs and grant you the continued reassurance of God's love and mercy.

Whew John! Man.... my heart just really goes out to you right now! The Lord has me in a very tender place and I am just very overwhelmed thinking about your dad and his eternity.

Oh Father... oh my heart it just really broken for my brother in Christ and His Father! Lord I pray that you will bring John's dad to repentance! Lord your word says that you are not willing that any should perish but that all would come to repentance! Father I pray that you would bring John's Dad to a full repentance and restoration in that relationship that you so long to have with him! Father I pray that you would place the right people in his path.... and that they would heed your spirit and speak your truth! I went through this with both parents...and the Lord has them both. Not only does he have them but he revealed he had them with signs following.. (He didn't have to show me but he did)

When Mom died l wasn't mature enough in the Lord to understand what was going on but the Lord showed me the end product. Not just once but several times.

With my Dad l was praying at his death bed...from about a week before

the hand of God was moving mightly... At his deathbed..

Well... l wouldn't exchange what l saw the Lord do in the Spirit for my Father for anything...

I pray you will find the joy in knowing the mercy you've prayed for your Father a reality...
even in the last moments of time and that the death experience would become a glad memory.

Father, Thank you for Jesus, for salvation, for comfort. Please send Your Comforter. If it’s in Your will, Father I ask for John’s dad’s heart to be testified to by the Spirit. Bring him that he may fall into brokenness and turn from his iniquities and find forgiveness and peace and comfort in You. Father if it’s in Your will that he should live days, weeks, years beyond this stroke, may his life be fully dedicated to You, may You be glorified. O Father, in the name of Your Holy Son, Jesus, Amen.

Death is something we don't grasp often times until the reality of it starts hitting home. When we know there is something wrong and it makes us very aware of our physical life ending and the unknown is ahead.

He had his MRI today. He is in very stable condition as I'm writing this. The results may take a few days to get.

John, I want to tell you about my american uncle, who had a stroke, paralysed and aphasia (blurred speech).
I talk to him normal on the phone now, between the times he goes play golf. His swing may not be as mighty anymore, but he spends lots of time with his children and grandchildren... May that be a little ease on your heart that hopes!

John, thanks for the update. I remember what misery I went through waiting to hear for tests to come back, so I can imagine the place you are at. At least your dad is surrounded by a staff of nurses and doctors that can wait on him and be right there if he needs anything. Continue to post. I'm as nervous as you.

Oh, John, that is GREAT news.. just keep an eye on him after he gets out and make sure he has someone looking out for him. The probably just want to keep him for precautions... they did that with my dad a lot. Just in case he'd have to come back in again... generally if you have a problem they will keep you for an extra day or two. I know it's a good thing, at least he's got the best of the best watching him.

John, do not worry, this is normal procedure, to see if there is any new development of neurological dysfunction. Very careful of the docs to do so. You will have the time you wanted to be with him, just be patient as the recovery is often a gradual process of 1-2 months.

Dad is back in his apartment! All the tests were negative! Praise God! He is feeling weak, tired and dizzy...and he is taking it easy for now. Although he has bounced back, there seems to be more openness now that he had a close brush with death. Please pray that he opens up fully to the Lord. We can see God's hand in all this.

John, thanks, ... but it was ALL GOD! I can't take the credit.. I just am used as His vessel and obey when he says PRAY! Of course, I have a heart for anyone who has a sick child or parent, or loved one... being it is so recent in my life.... I would do ANYTHING to bring someone's mom or dad, child, aunt, uncle, _________ fill in the blank... back to life.. and heal them to make them well. I just know the heartbreak, helplessness and frustration that happens to not only the one going through it, but the ones on the other side that have to watch the suffering.
