this article is on a RCC website...........it quotes from OSAS preachers and Calvinist Preachers to "prove" that the "Protestants" are wrong.

well, the OSAS and Calvinists are wrong,,,,,,,,,,,but the RCC are wrong also

very few people in the world believe the Bible.

as per the RCC article: you can't know that you're saved until you die.
quote:
For example, Philippians 2:12 says, "Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling." This is not the language of self-confident assurance. Our salvation is something that remains to be worked out.

What To Say

"Are you saved?" asks the Fundamentalist. The Catholic should reply: "As the Bible says, I am already saved (Rom. 8:24, Eph. 2:5–8), but I’m also being saved (1 Cor. 1:8, 2 Cor. 2:15, Phil. 2:12), and I have the hope that I will be saved (Rom. 5:9–10, 1 Cor. 3:12–15). Like the apostle Paul I am working out my salvation in fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12), with hopeful confidence in the promises of Christ (Rom. 5:2, 2 Tim. 2:11–13)."
un-quote

but, the Bible says:

if we believe god now, .......we are saved now.......and we can know that we're saved now.

if we stop believing, we lose our salvation.

my point is:
the OSAS and the Calvinists are giving the enemies (RCC) of God opportunity to blaspheme God and His Gospel.
The OSAS and Calvinists are helping the RCC to turn people away from God and Salvation.

2Sa 12:14 Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.

1Jn 3:14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
Rom 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

1Jn 5:19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
1Jn 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
1Jn 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
1Jn 5:1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
Act 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
Act 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
Act 16:32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.
Act 16:33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.
Act 16:34 And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.
1Jn 3:14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
Rom 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Dennis,

I don't think there are many Calvinists in this forum.
