Full Version: Odd Waring Dreams

Jeff Joseph
I will admit I watched some horror movies in my life but I have had a few dreams with the character from Friday the 13th movies. Anyways when I was younger I could never stop the guy in the dreams, but just today I dreamed I was at my old house in the country. The bad guy was up to no good as I saw him through a window. So I decided to go stop him before he could hurt anyone else. So I went fought with him and even though he seemed invicible I managed to defeat him just before I awoke.

The other dream I had a few weeks ago, I was sitting at a table and an evil man was telling all my old school friends to follow him. I stood up and told my classmates the man was evil and to reject what he was saying. Then the man ordered them to get me. So I had to fight with a bunch of them and managed to get away. Then I was suddenly on a bridge with a lake of fire underneath it. A beast like creature was in front of me and I fought with it. After beating the fleshly part of it up I could not destroy the spiritual part of it. Then It was like Gods hand pushed it into the fire and burnt it up.

When you fight someone in a dream, you will only get more scared of that what you are fighting, because you are fighting thoughts which are created with your own energy. I.e. you are doing this to yourselves. Next time the problem will be aggravated. You'll never get popular with parts of you which you deny any development this way. You don't seem to believe that people can change, while this was exactly the message of Jesus (to fresh up your memory, he was on a CONVERSION mission, not one of hatred and violence).

I am sorry, defending people against murderers is not "hatred and violence". So King David was evil for slaying Goiliath? Maybe he should have just beleived Goliah would have change of heart and could have repented? In the first dream I was stopping a evil killing machine, are the police evil when they shoot mad bank robbers or are they just suppose to let them take the money and shoot anyone they feel like?

So should Israel just give up there arms and let the Mad men around them bomb them? Suicide bombers should be just let it in to blow people up? Maybe God wants arms and limbs torn off so that the cooky Suidcide bombers can have a change of heart?

When did I ever say people can't change? There are plenty of people I have seen changed but some men will never because they refuse. If a man chooses to do evil all his life, it has nothing to do with be beleiving the man could change. Thats up to the indaviduals own heart and I can't make that decison for them.

Jeff :

I re-read once again, the phrase you presented :

"The bad guy was up to no good as I saw him through a window."

And this scripture in Hosea, was one of the ' window ' scriptures, I posted for your consideration.

However, this morning after reading the commentaries you made correctly about the (quote)
. . . I am sorry, defending people against murderers is not "hatred and violence . . .

I found the story behind the section with the reference to ' window '.

And I believe it matches aspect's of the dream. And most certainly our permission to step
up as warrior's in our faith, against evil. Which was your point, I believe ?

Hosea 13:3
. . . like smoke out of the window.

Hosea
Chapter 13

1
Ephraim's word caused fear, for he was exalted in Israel; but he sinned through Baal and died.
2
Now they continue to sin, making for themselves molten images, Silver idols according to their fancy, all of them the work of artisans. "To these," they say, "offer sacrifice." Men kiss calves!
3
Therefore, they shall be like a morning cloud or like the dew that early passes away, Like chaff storm-driven from the threshing floor or like smoke out of the window.
4
I am the LORD, your God, since the land of Egypt; You know no God besides me, and there is no savior but me.
5
I fed you in the desert, in the torrid land.
6
They ate their fill; when filled, they became proud of heart and forgot me.
7
Therefore, I will be like a lion to them, like a panther by the road I will keep watch.
8
I will attack them like a bear robbed of its young, and tear their hearts from their breasts; I will devour them on the spot like a lion, as though a wild beast were to rend them.
9
Your destruction, O Israel! who is there to help you?
10
Where now is your king, that he may rescue you in all your cities? And your rulers, of whom you said, "Give me a king and princes"?
11
1 I give you a king in my anger, and I take him away in my wrath.

What murderer, if I may ask? Was anyone killed in your dream?
I didn't read about any murderer or murdered in your topic start (the dream description itself).
So you didn't dream of any murderer.
It's just a proof-lacking "pre-emptive strike" against these falsely accused people and animals.
Do you believe this yourself??

QUOTE (Jeff Joseph @ Jul 1 2008, 03:33 AM) *
In the first dream I was stopping a evil killing machine, are the police evil when they shoot mad bank robbers or are they just suppose to let them take the money and shoot anyone they feel like?

What killing machine? You described no dead and no murderer when you described your dream.
It's your desperation about what might happen, you saw no other option but committing aggression even when nothing had happened yet.
To someone who hadn't even murdered anyone. But who you're falsely accusing afterwards.

If taking the money is also a good "reason" to commit violence, it may be time to reconsider the order of importance of some values in your life. Jesus (non-violence) or the Mammon (attachment to money to the extent of beating up people for it or even worse).

QUOTE (Jeff Joseph @ Jul 1 2008, 03:33 AM) *

You are scared of violence aren't you? Or very concerned to say the least.
So why are you in favour of violence then?
What to do with this doublespeak?

QUOTE (Jeff Joseph @ Jul 1 2008, 03:33 AM) *
When did I ever say people can't change?

Nowhere. But I still wonder if you believe that they can.
You really try your best to find reasons in favour of committing violence.
If you believed in something else than violence, you probably would have mentioned it with the "bogeymen" of your examples.

Your dream speaks of spiritual warfare. The fact that your dream takes place in your old house speaks of your past spiritual condition, such as spiritual immaturity. Looking through the window reveals that GOD is showing you something concerning your current spiritual maturity. GOD teaches us through the Holy Spirit. As we mature spiritually we learn the difference between the truth of GOD and the lies of the devil. The Holy Spirit will be a witness to us of good and evil. There is a constant spiritual battle around us that we do not see. GOD is our protector. HE will give us the strength and the knowledge through the Holy Spirit to overcome evil in this world. Teaching us through prayer and reading of HIS Word. Praise God!

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled." 2 Corinthians 10:2-6

"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony...." Revelation 12:11

"Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

"If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. ...
"...in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:31

This dream is self explanatory. The beast is the devil.

What if I really were on drugs?
What if I really wasn't capable of understanding plain English?

Then I wouldn't have found any comfort from your words. You would turn your back on me.
And you offer no solution to this. Somebody who would be more positive than such a primitive who so far has only shown how victorious he is in violence, would have adviced about drugs to seek professional help, or would have adviced an education in case I had a problem with understanding your plain English.

If there would be a problem with misunderstanding your English, perhaps a quote would do. Where you show me that I misunderstand something linguistical. So far I understand that your attitude is mainly violent, as well in your dreams as well as in your impolite attitude towards me. Which only confirms what I'm saying already. You are very violent-minded.

Self defence is not a sin. When I was kid growing up in school I got into many fight but I didn't start one of them. The other kids would go after me. In the same way of my dreams I didn't start any of these fights.

If you saw a murderer running in the woods which is on your property and he he was plotting to get you. If you went and stopped him before he could sneak up on you that would not be a sin or would it be wrong in any way.

The second dream I told people "not to follow the wicked man". So that man chose to tell his followers to attack me and I defended myself. Now how can self defence be a sin when Christ told his disiples to sell there second cloak and buy a sword ?

Jeff
Divinespark
Hi Jeff,

The bible passage you are referring to is Luke 22.
Imho it's not about the right of self-defence. Jesus tells his disciples to buy swords, so that Jesus would be counted among the criminals (in the eyes of the people). This in order to fulfill a prophecy.
Now we also have a story in which one of the disciples cut of an ear (in self-defence!!) of a Roman, and that's exactly where Jesus didn't intend this to happen, and cured the ear of the person whose ear was cut off!!

Jesus says: swords to ploughs.

You trigger an interesting question here, thanks!
Is there any biblical justification to be found that justifies individuals defending themselves in a violent manner?
Anyone? NB I'm NOT interested in stories about the justification of war between groups of people and authorization of war by God, this question here is about INDIVIDUAL self-defence.

The topic start is about violence which would probably have broken out with or without you choosing to fight.
Probably I would have felt having no other choice as well. Depending on how conscious I am in the dream.
But I know also cases in which it was possible, in dreams, to keep a situation peaceful when there was a determination not to fight first. And to feel confident enough that there would be no violence unless I decided so! And that's the power we have in our dreams.
What you are doing, is trying to justify behaviour in dreams by the laws made by others in waking life (about self-defence). In dreams you have more power or rights to control the situation than you might think (whether it will be war or peace for example). And laws from a society which makes other laws tomorrow, don't (fortunately) apply in your dreams if you don't want them to.

The more aware I am in dreams, the less war-like it is. In lucid dreams (even more aware or conscious state of mind) it never happens that there is any violence or war. When I choose so. Even though other lucid dreamers sometimes like to deliberatly create a war situation when they have a lucid dream, not me.

Peter was not defending himself, Peter thought he could save Jesus by fighting off the Romans. Dumb Peter did not listen to Jesus when he told him that he had to die. Then Jesus told him he who lives by the sword dies by the sword. Meaning you can't solve everything with a sword. The Romans were not after the disiples they were after Jesus. Peter was stepping in the way by attacking the Romans because Christ had to be crucified.

While Christ was on earth the Holy spirt protected Christ until it was his time to die. The disilples were under this protection as well. After Christ died they would have people after them , so he was telling them that they had the right to defend themselves.

Now however if the Romans had come for Peter he would have had every right to attack them. No where in scripture does it say to lay down for someone coming to harm you. The bible says in Revalationg the beast will make war with the Saints and overcome them. War means we have the right to fight him by whatevere means we have. The scripture does not say to "let the beast torture you to and then cut your head off".

I feel this dream is speeking of spiritual fighting. you need first to but on your armor.

Mark 3:27
No one can go into a strong man's house and carry off his possessions without first tying up the strong man. Then he can ransack his house.

see I feel this is something that saten is seeing you are getting a great understanding for, and you are not fearing him anymore, so that you run and fight him. after he cant gain victory over you he than takes and ups the fight, or battle. by getting those you were trying to keep him from.

this is speeking about a spiritual battle and having a great understanding the next move he makes, than moving to cut him off from it. I claim this for you, in Jesus name!

Hugs!
