I have been enjoying God's beautiful creation (flowers, trees and bushes) fully. I cannot afford hiring a gardener, so I am creating my own and it gives me such joy. Plants won't stay the same so I have to keep at them constantly. I enjoy everything about gardening, even weeding! Because I am constandly digging, the weeds are easy to keep at bay.

In the fall, I gather tons of leaves from neighborhood and use them for all kinds of purposes. They can be used as mulch. I also make potting soil by using soil mixing with leaves. I also pile them up and compost them. I don't throw away vegetable garbage; I also compost them with the leaves.

We did not have anything around the house when we bought this house 10 years ago. Now we have tall trees to enjoy shade when I am working in the garden. I don't grow vegetables because it is expensive to raise them in hot and poor soil condition of Texas weather.

This house is our first owned and I never had a chance to do gardening all my life, and all of a sudden I am hooked on gardening. I am telling myself this is healthy addiction since God wants us to enjoy His beautiful creation. All plants produce babies and I give them away to my neighbors. I love to have a water garden but it is so expensive, so I am satisfied with tiny pond and fountain.

There are so many things involving gardening and I am enjoying them all.

I love to sit out by the ocean..I love listening to the waves crash on the shore..the fresh ocean breeze...it smells soooo good!

It's a good thing to do to slow down and enjoy the Lord's creations.

Neal, I understand what you are saying; after-all anyone who can enjoy working the land while getting her hands dirty in anticipation of seeing something beautiful; well that person is a kind person. A person that has dreams, hopes and joys. I feel sad when I think of GC because GC reminds me of my mother. When my mother lived, she had such a huge heart. Would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. My mom so often did without so that others could have. In her latter years she did without food in order that her dogs could eat. Mom who worked her whole life had nothing of value as she lay dying. I felt so sad for my mother. In Moms last years my sister and I tried to help without her knowing about it. Mom hated to take from people. Neal, you are probably wandering what this has to do with Gingercat? My mother tried to control other people and when other people didn't agree with her, my dear old mom would label them with a name. Usually an unkind name. Neal, you are seeing the good in GC but if you were on the end of her unkind and untrue labels...such as "Not a real Christian," or "satans helper," you might be able to understand. Voice doesn't believe a cat can change the spots on her coat. I disagree. As mom lay dying I saw how Jesus changed her from an controlling and angry person into a forgiving and loving person. Change is always possible with the Lord. And yes, I do see a change in Gingercat...a maturity...a commitment. But the past hurts that Gingercat caused can still be felt. She was so outspoken concerning our military. My opinion is that you can disagree with this war and any war, but please we must show our military loyalty and love. We must realize that many in our armed services are Christians and we must begin to minister to their needs. But none of us should label them as non Christians.

All of us have a portion of Gingercat within us and many of us have learned to contain the harsh words that come to mind at times. My mother, the same as Gingercat could not contain (what seemed) angry words to my ears, and (what seemed) truth to their ears. It's all a matter of how we perceive what the other poster is saying. Also we should never judge one another until we have walked 10 miles in the other persons shoes.

Believe me when I say that her not believing in the trinity had very little to do with her acceptance............

I don't follow mainstream christianity and I believe they are wrong as Christians as a whole. I listed up how they are doing wrong. They are my convictions and they will not change just because I get banned. Of course it will lead to most posters' anger because I am protesting against mainstream. They are called mainstream because they the majority.

Oh Honey!!! Your garden is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!!!!!!! I can imagine you must love to spend time there alone with the Lord...Oh how I would love to walk in that garden and shoot pictures of it.

Is that a Japanese maple in the 2nd to last photo? I love those trees... one of my favorites for sure.

I've been into photography since I was in highschool. I love it.

I have a very nice camera. My husband got it for me as a present. I have a couple lenses for it. This one is a zoom with closeup capability.
So I don't have to be real close to the subject. I've done some weddings for friends and bridal portfolios. I just do it for fun really. Maybe someday, I'd like to do it professionally, but my children are my first priority here on earth...so, I practice on them! =) My 5 year old son is a good photographer too...he really has an eye for composition.

Thanks for opening this thread hon...it's been nice to be able to share the Lord's creation with you.
