There was a little old lady, who every morning stepped onto her front porch, raised her arms to the sky, and shouted "PRAISE THE LORD!"
One day an atheist moved in to the house next door. He became irritated at the little old lady. Every morning he'd step onto his front porch after her and yell "THERE IS NO LORD!"
Time passed with the two of them carrying on this way every day.
One morning, in the middle of winter, the little old lady stepped onto her front porch and shouted "PRAISE THE LORD! Please Lord, I have no food and I am starving. Provide for me, oh Lord!"
The next morning she stepped out onto her porch and there were two huge bags of groceries setting there.
"PRAISE THE LORD!" she cried out. "HE HAS PROVIDED GROCERIES FOR ME!"
The atheist neighbor jumped out of the hedges and shouted, "THERE IS NO LORD; I BOUGHT THOSE GROCERIES!"
The little old lady threw her arms into the air and shouted, "PRAISE THE LORD! HE HAS PROVIDED ME WITH GROCERIES AND MADE THE DEVIL PAY FOR THEM!"

So I was privileged enough to receive a copy of Fox Faith's "The List" DVD. Decided to pop it in & from an entertainment perspective, I thought it was excellent. Relieving to see a faith based film with an amusing plot.
More than anything though- I couldn't help but sit back and reflect on the power of prayer. The movie really portrays it well as the main character, although not following the lord during most of the movie, struggles through many hardships and difficult decisions.. Many of which lead to further complications. All the while, the ones closest to him rely heavily on prayer....
I'm not going to spoil any endings, but after the movie- I really just reflected on the fact that prayer does change lives. Even though the outcome of a situation may not be exactly what is planned or hoped for- God always acknowledges our persistence in prayer; because of that I think we are awarded with peace & better understanding of his will.
So, I just thought I'd share that with you guys; always encouraging to be spiritually refreshed & challenged.
If you get a chance, I'd definitely recommend checking out the movie- it is definitely worth a few dollars.

I love the story because it shows the man was to willingly ignorant to realize he provided the answer to her prayer. God uses man at times to answer prayer but this is a case that makes it funny as can be.

i have another joke with the same title so instead of just putting another thread, im just going to post it here.
A man went to a place where a horse was for sale. he was a beautiful horse, well trained and he used to belong to a minister who personally trained him to act on specific commands related to his religion. The man wanted the horse, and bought it. the man who sold the horse to him said, "to get him to go, you need to say "HALLEJULAH". if you want him to stop, you need to say "PRAISE THE LORD"."
So the man got on his new horse and said "hallejulah". the horse started walking. he wanted to check the horse would stop on command, so he said "praise the lord" and the horse stopped. "hallejulah" he said and the horse started running. he soon realised that he was coming close to the edge of a cliff and cried out "STOP!! STOP!!" but the horse didnt stop. he then remembered what the man said to him so he screamed out "PRAISE THE LORD!!!" and the horse stopped right at the edge of the cliff. the man said to himself with a sigh of relief "hallejulah"

The man should maybe have said Hallelujah instead?
