OK, so this zeitgeist movie was mentioned in a podcast a few times, so I checked it out.

If I wasn't so much into the Mazzaroth (Hebrew Zodiac), it would've deceived me.

So, I'm sure there are plenty of other lies in this film, too.

Here's are a few easy to refute points.

1a) Jesus was probably NOT born on 12/25.


Google the Star of Bethlehem and you'll find plenty of information regarding planetary alignments and celestial events NOT on 12/25.

1b) There were 3 gifts, but an unknown number of Magi (Kings).

1c) Jesus officially started his ministry at the age of about 30, NOT 12.

Jesus was NOT born on the same day as Mithras, Horus, etc.


2a) They claim the cross constellation, Crux, is associated with the sunrise on the morning of the winter solstice. This is a provable lie. Take ANY astronomy program, move to Cairo, and plug in a solstice or equinox.

You can even go back to 0 AD or so. Even for the Spring Equinox, Yes the sun rises in Pices, but the constellation Crux is on the OTHER side of the sky sphere!


2b) The sun NEVER actually rises or sets EVER in the Cross constellation. In fact, it NEVER gets anywhere near Crux, as Zeitgeist attempts to suggest:




2c) Crux is a SOUTHERN constellation, NOT completely visible ANY time of the year from Egypt.

It is best viewed from Australia, Southern Africa, South America, etc. EVEN IF this constellation pointed to a sunrise on December 22nd, remember that that's the LONGEST day of the year for the Southern Hemisphere...

(You, yes you! You can verify this yourself! http://www.stellarium.org/ I'm sure there are other good programs out there, too.)

Did Jesus EVER compare himself with the Sun in the sky? I don't recall that he did. He does say this:

3) The "dead for 3 days" is wrong, too. The sun does NOT rise in the same spot for 3 days...

I don't know much about the other ahem, characters he mentions, Horus, Mithras, etc. Would be interesting to find out more to see if they are REALLY what he claims.

Sad that some people might be shaken by this deliberate deception.

I should note that the atrocities of the Inquisition and Crusades are indeed horrible. But the secular world does NOT differentiate between true Christianity and those controlled by the devil. To them, they are one and the same.

To fully refute this video, you'll need the ability to discern between core Judaism with Christianity vs Pagan traditions that infiltrated certain churches.

why did the Star lead the Magi to Jerusalem and the King?
Why didn't the Star lead the Magi straight to the Child in Bethlehem?

God wanted Jerusalem to know that the King (Messiah) was born..............a Witness.
and the Jews cared so little about it, that they didn't travel a few miles South to Bethlehem to see the Messiah!

Wow!...............un-belief!


Herod cared enough to murder the Child and his fellow children in Bethlehem...........but, Herod didn't want to see the Savior of the World.

Thank you for taking the time to refute this. I watched it myself a few weeks ago and it was indeed very deceptive. Unless you research their findings for yourself one might believe it. There is a mixture of fact and error and this gives it its potency. There are some similiarities between ancient lore and the bible, however, its exactness was exagerated. Many of the statements that they claim was believed by other religions is not true.

i was asked by a sister in the Lord to watch this and see what I thought of it. I had not heard of it besides on here and I never bothered to watch it.

When I did watch it I saw many things in it btw i only watched the religion section not the rest of it.

i saw that many partial facts were given with his opinion to sway the watcher as if his opinion was true, i also saw that dates were given when he thought it would help his case but other dates were left out where it would hurt his case.

i saw that the man applied his own logic in what he only had the capacity to understand since he is not in faith. some examples of this are him saying that because the epic of gilamesh was written at an earlier date it was the original story and noah was made up lie after that story and that it only applied to a little area. the faulty thinking here which most archeologists have is what was written first happened first. well that just seems nice but isnt always true. if you and i was in a flood today, and i began to tell everyone and pass the story down to my family and i tell you, and i just keep telling people word of mouth(n which is what was done in that day) and you come along later and write it down first and change the names to make someone in your city the famous one that does not mean that because you wrote it down first your story yhappened first. most things in most cultures have been past word of mouth for centuries, writting it down first doesnt make yours the first or the truth.- also the fact that over a hundred nations have the exact same flood story proves it true not false.

Also they speak of sargon and moses, they do not consider that 1) maybe they are the same story of the same person, one renamed as with noah or 2) that they could both be true because God repeats history and in this He gave more than one witness and he does not address that sargon and moses happened at a very close time proximity.

overall though i was very excited watching this,and while he beleived he was proving the bible false i believe he did just the opposite but showed the truth and soverignty of God.

he showed many examples of differntgods and their names and attibutes and followers, each one with some similarities of Jesus etc.. he said this showed jesus false, however i believe it showed that God has been showing pagan nations the truth of the comming Messiah in part in their own false religions, all similar, sharing parts of Jesus truth to come(then) but none having the whole story and all pointing to Jesus who is the true savior and has the whole story. It also shows that God uses the devil to His own uses and that the devil has nothing knew and can create nothing new to lie about because creation is of God and one cannot even imagine anything that is beyond Gods creation and truth so satan was used by God to give twisted but partial truth to all people and all nations and in all religions to point to the one truth.

I believe that the majority of this type of info he gave should strengthen our faith in an ever present, always in control God who has done all things for His own will and in His own control and power.

the movie also tries to say that many astrological things point to jesus and this shows jesus was only an alogory and not truth however the opposite is truth. God said he made the things in the heavens for signs and seasons and times. the whole gospel is in the stars and apparently more than that so what is in the heavens are a sign of the truth not the other way around. and this is another witness of the truth of Jesus and the word of God and Gods creation!

Good thought. I agree with you totally. Only, do keep in mind that most of the things said in that video were distortions or out right lies, easily proven wrong.

And the thing about Moses and Sargon, apparently, is that it cannot be proven one way or another as to who influenced who --- which account is original, the same as with the Noah account. I, of course, believe that the biblical one is the original, or true account.

Yes Zeiotgeist bases its infromation from druidic freemsaons and the like jsut check its own source list on zeigeist web page. I saw this video on Ytube its full of gnostic hogwash----not only on the zodiac portion but on the 1st part of the movei trying to say Jesus is fromt he Horus myth--or Krishna---etc. None of what they claim is close to be true and easily refuted by egyptology.

It's 100% baseless, and is even incorrect about the myths it tries to compare to Jesus! It's 'facts' about Horus are ALL wrong, as well as it's assertions about Mithras. Anyhow, this movie is based on a book which came out about 50 years ago and was immediately refuted! All it does is repeat the same baseless statements. There is VERY little truth in this movie, and the only time it is dangerous is when IGNORANT people watch it and DO NOT LOOK into any of the statements made. Seriously, look up any of the figures they compared to Jesus, this is NO CREDIBILITY, but tries to pass itself off as it has credibility. Satanic, and debunked easily - just Google and it's arguments are dead hehe ;p
