This is my first poll, and I hope I have set this up right! After all the commentary in the news yesterday, I just wanted to poll the forum and see whether you would vote "No" on Romney because of his religion, or "Yes" in spite of it. And this is open to people who live all over the world--you don't have to live here in the States to express your opinion! It would be good if people would post their reasons for voting either way. I've personally voted for Methodists, Episcopalians, and Presbyterians in the past, not that it matters! Did anybody know that Eisenhower was a Jehovah's Witness? I had no clue until recently! OK, I'll stop talking now and see if anything happens with this poll! LOL!

I've heard on CNN someone say that the doctrine of the Mormon teach that there is no original sin. On the other hand, they speak of Jesus as the "Son of God" but I have a question here: if there is no original sin, then we don't need a redeemer !
So here we are, with a very confusing doctrine, and we are just starting to speak of the Mormon doctrine!

Hi there,
I used to be of the Mormon church for many years. I have three things against them according to the Word Of God; 1) Jesus on the cross said in Joh. 19:30. So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And bowing His head He gave up His spirit... If Christ says it is finished why do we now have the Book of Mormon? I did a Bible study on where they were to have left Israel and sailed to the Americas and couldn't locate the connection. 2) One of their Articles Of Faith that are to to youngsters says that they believe in the Bible as being the Word of God, so long as it has been translated correctly. How do they do this? Do they compare it to the Book of Mormon? 3)When I heard their Elders talking about their 'magic underwear or longjohns' it showed me that they were not putting their faith fully unto God and the power of the Holy Spirit.
I also have against a lot of churches the fact that they wrap themselves in wonderful buildings and magnificent statues, and their parishioners are going hungry. Teaching commandments of men instead of the true Word of God. Matt. 15:9. "And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrine the commandments of men."
May God bless.

if a mormon wins then this country will be in big trouble i am not sure if you get this show in your country it is called big love it is on sbs in australia and its just come back but re runs are being played its an intresting show with a lot of twists if this is playing in your neck of the world i would recommend to watch it their are good sights on the inter net that give you what the mormans believe in as i did a fair bit of re search after a good brother fell and got involved with a female mormon which puzzled me to why he would fall like this when their were a lot of pretty single women in my church who were also puzzled to why he would do this
the show is about two brothers one who has 3 wifes and another who has one wife the second brother is questioning his faith while the 1 st brother has made it big time he has a buisness lives in a suburb and owns 3 houses no one in the neighboor hood knows they are mormans and he has a problem with his father in law who is a prophet who has 22 wifes the two brothers win a seat in the council and the prophet is going out of his way to make it hard for them its a mormon show based on their beliefs when it come to polygomy and plural marraige his 3 wifes live in these 3 houses and it a funny show it cracks me up but it has me hooked i should add this in the prophet took on a new wife a young 14 yr old and she lives with him in the house with his other wifes
google mormans beliefs and you wil see what they hold onto
intresting though very intresting

Shy,
Some claims that are made is that Mormons are a part of the Christian Church. I really don't know enough about the Mormon Religion to say either way.
I would not vote for Mitt Romney because he keep flipping his opinions around on a regular basis, depending on the audience he is speaking with. If he ever gets elected to anything, please give the gentleman a coin to flip... Heads we Veto... Tails we accept.
I was also very saddened at the way he treated a terminally ill young man during one of his speeches. Lack of compassion and caring on his part.
At this time I really see no impressive Christian candidates to vote for. I am a conservative Christian and I will NOT vote for McCain. McCain is as much a Conservative as Hillary is!
Gods Blessings,
Al

No, I would not vote for him. The mormans were started by Joseph Smith a Freemason. Its sort of Masonic version of Chritstianity. I would not vote for a Freemason, which Mitt Romney is.
Second, the Roman Empire and Israel at one time sailed to the North America. They have found Roman and Israel artifacts in the Unites States dating back to Old Israel and the Roman Empire. I found this out by watching Dvds from Kent Hovind, the recently jailed Creationist on false charges.
So no, I do not beleive Christ came and preached to the American Indian. I do beleive the Romans used those humongus ships to sail here that I have seen on the discovery channel. They were as big as ocean liners are today. Its possible a few of the Romans who sailed to America were christians and preached hear to Native Americans.
This was covered up by the Roman Catholic Church stating the Earth was flat. The Catholic church has suppressed these facts practically since they started.
