DON’T QUIT!!
Due to the tempest of emotions, the whirlwind of expectancy, and the constant tuggings in our souls while we await our Bridegroom, I have been incessantly preaching these precepts to myself lately. I just thought I might share it with the rest of the choir in case you are struggling in your daily battle with the world like I am.
When people pull you down, as they often will,
When the battle you’re fighting is all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
When you’re outwardly laughing to conceal an inward cry,
When you discover yourself slowing down a bit,
Stop, take a deep breath – but don’t you QUIT!!
How often you’ll find that you’ve come so far,
Yet you must steady your pace, you can’t stay where you are,
You’ll need twice the effort to make your way,
Tomorrow won’t come until you’ve conquered today,
You might discover yourself slowing down a bit,
So rest if you must, but don’t you QUIT!!
Always do the best that you can possibly do,
Treasure your friends -- as they are far and few,
Never give up, whatever the burden you bear,
Just one more step might get you there,
How often the journey that proceeds so slow,
Will conclude abruptly when dealt the final blow.
Success is belief that you cannot fail,
For the winds of happiness fill your sail,
Winners are often born when the going gets rough,
In those moments of peril the strong get tough,
Life will often press you down a bit,
But keep hanging in there, and don't you quit!!
The scoffers will scoff, the scorners will scorn,
The watchmen will be attacked as they continue to warn,
Life is difficult, and can get so confused,
It won't be until the Rapture that our worries are diffused.
Life will continue to press you down a bit,
So stand up and shout, “BECAUSE OF JESUS I WILL NOT QUIT!”

A Holy Pause: "Quiet. Be Still! Wait for the Wind of the Lord."

"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."
The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Psalm 46:10-11
Our ministry team here in Northern California has been waiting on the Lord in what He has called, “A Holy Pause” over the past several months. As we have obeyed this instruction to pause and wait without any agenda but to be with one another in His presence, wonderful things have been happening.
At first we found ourselves a bit uncomfortable with the “stillness” that came in having no agenda or active plan. The only thing that the Lord clearly told us was to gather regularly those with a heart to “know and be known” and have evenings of fellowship. This past spring we began to do just that. At first many came, excited at the idea of getting to know one another intimately. But as the weeks went by some people couldn’t understand why we weren’t “doing” anything. We were…we were obeying the Lord’s request. Waiting on the Lord and obeying His voice is the seed of all things that will grow fruit.
Vision: Calming Self-Driven Winds and Waiting for the Wind of the Lord
As I was waiting on the Lord recently the Lord began to show me in my spirit the story of when he and his disciples were in the boat during the huge storm (while Jesus slept). In this vision I saw the disciples awaken the Lord and then I saw Him look at the waves but they were not waves made of water but waves made of arms. It was a mass ocean of people waving their arms up and down like a bird would and it gave the appearance of great waves. The amazing thing was that it was producing an amazing amount of wind that was literally going to capsize the "boat" if it wasn't calmed. Then the Lord looked out at this great mass of people and said, "Quiet. Be still!" (just as He has spoken to the waves 2000 years ago).
Then I heard the verse out of Proverbs 11:29 that says,
“He who brings trouble on his family will inherit only wind…”
At this point the Holy Spirit spoke and said, "I'm calming the self-driven winds that have caused much adversity in my family." I began to realize that the masses of people that I saw waving their arms were God's people who were living by a self-driven wind. The people were weary and exhausted from all the work.
Then I heard the Lord say once again,
"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."
The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.

His words also came, "I have invited my people to enter a holy pause which will calm the self driven winds of man that have wearied them. Be still and wait for My wind because when you catch My wind you will soar and go where I want to take you without becoming weary and fainting." Then I heard the following verse,
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.

Calming the Storm: A Holy Pause
Often people’s experiences in the Church have been like being a passenger on a boat in a storm. I have only been on a cruise ship once, and part of my experience involved one night in a storm that tossed this huge ship like a toy boat. It was so bad the crew had to close all the outside decks and most of the passengers went to their rooms too sea sick to enjoy their evening, or even sleep. Does the body of Christ feel storm tossed, unable to find rest for their weary souls?
Whether it is a father, mother, sister or brother, if you bring trouble on your family it produces a wind that causes a storm that rocks the boat and affects everyone in the family. Some of the problems and troubles that have come were not caused intentionally, but came as a result of our lack of intimacy with the Lord and with His family. Many are too “storm sick” to even find rest. But, as we see in the vision that the Lord gave, He is calming the storm of self drivenness and allowing a time of "pause" to deliver us, heal us and to teach us how to wait for the wind of the Lord.
Let's look at the story of Jesus calming the storm from the Book of Mark,
Mark 4:35-41
That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, "Let us go over to the other side." Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, "Teacher, don't you care if we drown?"
He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
He said to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?"
They were terrified and asked each other, "Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!"
Though this was a physical storm and a real boat it is also a very accurate picture of what God is saying to the Church today. In the midst of our troubles and storms it somehow seems that many feel as though the Lord is asleep. But, He has heard your cry and is speaking the same words that He spoke to that storm so long ago: “Quiet! Be still!”
He has come to speak to the winds that have come upon His family and He is ushering in a very purposeful time of calm and stillness. This calm is creating a “Holy Pause” and this Holy Pause is allowing the Lord to go to depths within each of us individually and corporately that is ushering many into emotional healing, relational healing, deeper revelations of His love (and of the cross), and it is making room for new depths of Bridal intimacy. This is creating an environment of restoration and intimacy that will bring forth a conception of what God wants to birth in this new season. This time will increase our faith so that we will not be afraid of the things that brought us fear in the past.
Leaving the Old: “Don’t Look Back”
In the past few weeks the Lord keeps leading me to the story in Genesis 19. In this chapter we read about Lot’s wife during the destruction of the city of Sodom and Gomorrah.
Gen 19:15-17
With the coming of dawn, the angels urged Lot, saying, "Hurry! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away when the city is punished."
When he hesitated, the men grasped his hand and the hands of his wife and of his two daughters and led them safely out of the city, for the LORD was merciful to them. As soon as they had brought them out, one of them said, "Flee for your lives! Don't look back, and don't stop anywhere in the plain! Flee to the mountains or you will be swept away!"
Gen 19:23-26
By the time Lot reached Zoar, the sun had risen over the land. Then the LORD rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah--from the LORD out of the heavens. Thus he overthrew those cities and the entire plain, including all those living in the cities--and also the vegetation in the land. But Lot's wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.
In August of this year the Lord had me write an article called, “The Roosters are Crowing: It’s A New Day!” (To read this word: http://www.elijahlist.com/words/display_word/5541) I believe that this new day began in mid-September as we crossed over the Jewish New Year. I hear the Spirit saying to us the same words that the angel spoke to Lot as he and his wife and daughters fled Sodom: “Don’t look back!” But Lot’s wife did not heed the instruction and became a pillar of salt…frozen in time…forever looking back.
Lot and his family did not have time to pack; they had to obey or be destroyed (with some divine mercy helping them along). We have been given divine mercy to help us along as we leave the old day and enter into the new. We cannot pack up things from where we have been either, God is saying, “Don’t look back.” He is saying that we must leave the life of yesterday and enter into this new day not looking back.
Wait and Relate
Another thing that God has been asking our team to do is to fast what we’ve known and even what we’ve been trained to do during this time of pause. We have been waiting for only His instructions and His initiation before moving even one step forward. Even our waiting isn’t our own idea but it is in obedience to the Lord’s instruction. We are learning how to “wait and relate” during this time, with Him and with one another. Sometimes in our busy and hurried lifestyles and ministries we leave other family members in our wake. But in the time of pause it seems to be giving others time to catch up and to take their place…and even rest and be healed.
There have been numerous times in our waiting that we have been tempted to just do what we know how to do in order to take the pressure that we put on ourselves to “do something”! However, the Spirit has revealed to us that He does not want us to once again be frustrated by what we have seen in the past, but to wait for the new strategy and revelation. This time we will not be frustrated because what we will do will be "by His Spirit" and not by self driven wind that only frustrates us and others. In this process of “pause and stillness” all of us are having God go very deep in us. He is healing us from the disappointments and pain of the past, refreshing and restoring us and imparting to us what we need to be fruitful and victorious in the days to come. We are waiting for the Lord. He is extending this invitation to all His people. You too can enter into this pause so that you can be refreshed and prepared for the days ahead.
Once again, remember the verse from the vision,

Waiting for the Wind of the Lord
The Lord is offering His people new strength so that we can fly like the eagles and not become tired and weary. In this time the Lord is also going to hatch many new eagles and they will be eagles who know how to wait for the wind of the Lord rather than create wind that is self driven. Learning to wait for the Lord is a key part of this pause. How will we ever be able to know and obey only what He initiates if we do not learn how to wait? In the past season many have been creating wind rather than waiting for the wind of the Lord, but the Lord is speaking to the self-driven winds: “Quiet. Be still.” Now we are waiting for His wind to ride upon. Self-driven wind only makes our arms tired and our souls weary but when we catch His wind we will stretch out our wings and soar, carried by Him the entire way.
Psalm 27:13-14
I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.

DON'T GIVE UP!!! The road is long and difficult. It seems that you have come so close to a breakthrough, but then it is as if the rug is pulled out from under your feet once again....but I tell you this morning that the devil is a liar!!! Things are not as they look or seem. The Lord is working for you and moving on your behalf right now behind the scenes. The liar wants you to believe what you CAN see, but the Spirit of the Lord says to you to look to that which you cannot yet see...for though it has not yet manifested in your natural circumstances, it shall surely be....for as the Lord has spoken and promised so shall it be! DON'T GIVE UP, YOU'RE ON THE EDGE OF THE NEW THING THAT THE LORD HAS FOR YOU! HE IS BREAKING THROUGH FOR YOU! Hebrews 7:25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him since He always lives to make intercession for them. 7:26 For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners. And has become higher than the heavens; 7:27 who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the people’s for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself.
I tell you, beloved, that I did a good thing, a beneficial thing for you. I can, I did, save you from all things that would try to pull you under. I can, I did, save you from the eternal torment of the evil one.
In this day, many are letting the evil one torment them. He is constantly in your face, telling you things that are not true, beloved. He is telling you things that are not truth, My truth. I want you aware of this. I want you aware that the evil one is out to get you. He delights in seeing you in turmoil. He takes delight in agitating you.
I bring peace to any heart that will let Me. I soothe and kiss away those wounds that fester due to his scathing remarks, those scathing remarks that he speaks in your ear, telling you words like: “You don’t measure up. You are a failure. You will never be able to bring pleasure to your God’s heart. You are on the wrong road. You have been on it for a long time, and certainly you will never find your way back to the right one. You are despicable. You are such a failure in this life that your God will never be able to use you.” I tell you, beloved, that he tries every trick in the book and then some. He delights in seeing you squirm. He delights in seeing you unhappy and nervous over your station in life. Yes, he wants nothing more than to see you in turmoil. That is the way he operates: by telling you lies continually until he gets you to fall for them.
I, on the other hand, have given you My words of truth. They tell you that I take delight in you. They tell you that I am ever ready to correct any situation that you find yourself in, and place you in the center of My will. My word tells you that I am a forgiving God, I never hold a grudge. I never hold your past over you. I am tenderly loving you into a place of wonder in Me. I do not have a big stick. I do not have a scowl on My face. I have a happy face. Why am I of this disposition? I am of this disposition, beloved child, because My Son died for you. I see you through eyes of love and forgiveness. I do not see you as the enemy sees you. He will point out every flaw and then he will stick a knife in that flaw and turn it over and over until he makes you squirm, making your life miserable.
The next time you are faced with his critical remarks, dear child, I want you to do yourself a favor. Smile at Me. Give Me a BIG smile, and tell Me how thankful you are that I sent My son for you. For you see, beloved, My Son took all of those things that the enemy has pointed out to you. He was beaten and bruised that you might know abundant life on earth, and eternal life with your heavenly Father. This just burns the enemy up. It annoys him to no end that I got the upper hand. Yes, I got the upper hand. There is no doubt about it, and I shall keep it. Why did I do this? Because I love you, dear child. I love you to the uttermost. Now! Don’t you think that is reason enough? Don’t you agree that that is reason enough???

My Kingdom to come forth with in you. Open up
and give birth to what I am doing in you. Open up
and allow me to bring you to a new level. New
levels of intercession will begin to flow as you open
up to receive the deposits I am placing within you.
Open up and again I say, "It is time to open up and<>
allow that which I have destined in you to come forth.
Now is the time to give birth to that which I have
formed within you. Giving birth in the Kingdom is
different than giving birth in the world. I am there
to help you carry and nurture this child and it shall
bring forth wonder and joy. This child shall bear fruit
and the offspring that you deliver shall then bear fruit
and reproduce in others. So push, push, push and deliver
that which is within you so that they will in turn reproduce
and bear fruit that will remain. Such is giving birth in My
kingdom.

There is a funny movie called " What About Bob" with Bill Murray who plays a neurotic, self centered man, and Richard Dreyfuss, his temporary psychologist. I found it hysterical, having been a nurse for years - others may not find it so funny. But I roll over on the floor laughing watching it. We are far too serious about ourselves at times, and we need to laugh sometimes at our stupidity/foolishness. I was reminded of it I guess because of the self centeredness of the main character and the psychologist who was supposed to help him, but was very perfectionistic in his own environment.
I wondered after looking up the junkyard dog thing God spoke what He might say and waited on Him…
"TREMENDOUS change is coming to the world and church. It will not be overnight, but it has been continuous, and gradual, and now is escalating like a snowball that becomes a snowman part, adding weight. I have warned you again and again about these changes, so do not be shocked or dismayed. Some will say it's the devil, but it is not the devil, except carrying out MY orders to expose and bring judgement; though that word is not too popular in "Christianese" circles.
Do not think that I am standing by laughing or happy to bring about such judgments. What the church has become makes Me weep. But what it will be when I am finished will also make Me weep with JOY. For I have longed to form My bride into the glistening gold she is becoming.

Listen closely to Me My bride as you spend time with Me. Be still and know that I AM GOD. I will perform a mighty thing in your time. There will be weeping and wailing, but there will also be joy inexpressible and overflowing for the remnant of My church. The weeping endures for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Out of judgment on the church will come forth a glorious, holy and powerful Bride !

My bride will not regard the status or wealth of a man or woman, but consider each person individually, and treat them as I would treat them, depending on ME alone for guidance. My bride will not consider position, or affiliation, or titles important compared to the importance of MY presence. She knows all those who say YES to ME are My "favorites". She will move to the beat of a different drummer, so to speak. She will move WITH the Spirit, and not in opposition to Him.
LIGHT is coming to those in darkness and chains. LIGHT is coming first to My OWN and as it radiates out to those I love, they will become conduits of My LIGHT, GRACE & LOVE & POWER. They will become a formidable foe to the enemy. Nothing can stop what I will do in and through all I have chosen. Set yourself apart, for I come quickly on the wings of the wind and I send forth My messengers before you, and visitations and encounters will be more common for those who LOVE ME. Do not be afraid beloveds, for LIGHT will overcome DARKNESS ! Only BELIEVE. EXTRAORDINARY MIRACLES and ENCOUNTERS will apprehend those who are opposed to ME. ONLY BELIEVE for tranformations. For if anyone be in CHRIST JESUS, he is a NEW CREATION.
REVERSALS of all kinds are coming, in the world, and in the church. LISTEN for the still small voice. Do not be in a hurry to leave My presence. STOP JUMPING OUT OF MY ARMS ! I AM WITH YOU. Do not rely only on what you feel, but listen to ME, and stay in the place of rest and receiving that I may pour into you all that I AM. - that I can impart to you My wisdom, My understanding, MY knowledge, MY revelation, MY LOVE, MY being. Do not give in to defeatism that is in the world, and in the false doctrines of men eager to gain by the loss of others. LEAN INTO YOUR BELOVED, and you will be SAFE !"

But Your Word says no matter what her sins or how long she persists in her rebellion of doubt and unbelief, You will not forget her and You will persist in Your pursuit of her heart, for the remnant of Your possession. You will show Your faithfulness and unswerving loyalty to her, in honor of Your "everlasting covenant" with her (Genesis 17:7). All her sins, like all of mine and those of all who turn to You in repentance and faith, will be cast into the depths of the sea. "On that day a fountain shall be opened for the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity" (Zechariah 13:1).
"And so all Israel will be saved; as it is written, 'Out of Zion will come the Deliverer; He will banish ungodliness from Jacob.' And this is My covenant with them, when I take away their sins" (Romans 11:26-27). Thank You for being a God who delights in mercy, who has compassion to pardon our iniquities and pass over our transgressions when we turn in repentance and faith to look upon the One we have pierced with our sins of rebellion and unbelief (Zechariah 12:10). My loving, merciful, and compassionate God, "Who is a God like You?" In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

November 30, 2007 Least of these. It is still true today that people seek out the upstanding, the wealthy, the upper class, the important ones for their favor and fellowship. They give to each other airplanes, cars and all kinds of wealth, while turning a blind eye to the least of these. Their fellowship is based on worldly things and worldly values. They do not have the heart or the will to help those who cannot return the favor. But I say unto you, bring me the one who visits the prisoners, the sick, the hungry and the naked, and I will show you the one who will enjoy Heaven on earth and beyond throughout all eternity in their hearts. This is a great treasure. It is given to all who remember the "least of these" and care for them. Least of these.
Matthew 25:44-45 "Then they themselves also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?' "Then He will answer them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.'"
