Calling For Greater UFO Scrutiny

I know I've commented on this topic several times in recent weeks but I think it's important that we continue to examine what may be behind a recent surge in interest in UFO phenomena that may (KEYWORD: may) be of prophetic significance.
Recently, as seen in a CNN report, former Arizona Governor Fife Symington, who oversaw an event held yesterday (11-12-07) that featured himself and 14 former high-ranking military and government officials from seven countries explaining their personal knowledge of UFOs and calling for governments around the world to reveal to mankind everything they really know about UFOs, said the following (emphasis added mine):
"In 1997, during my second term as governor of Arizona, I saw something that defied logic and challenged my reality.
I witnessed a massive delta-shaped, craft silently navigate over Squaw Peak, a mountain range in Phoenix, Arizona. It was truly breathtaking. I was absolutely stunned because I was turning to the west looking for the distant Phoenix Lights."
Did you catch that Christians? The former governor of Arizona saw something in the sky that not only defied logic but "challenged his reality" which brings me back to why this topic has been on one of RaptureAlert.com's front burners for a few weeks now.
A great big lie is coming for mankind in the prophetic future according to Bible prophecy, a "strong delusion" if you will.
Once again, in the interest of preparing those who may be susceptible to believing a delusion centered upon UFOs, I want to keep my reader's abreast of the sudden surge in interest in them and make the scriptural case for there being potential that the strong delusion to come may come spinning by in the form of a UFO.
The Scriptural Backdrop
The Bible tells us that, after the Rapture of the Church takes place, the Antichrist will be revealed to the world, as seen in 2nd Thessalonians 2:8:
And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
The satanic power the Antichrist will have will be massive at the time he comes forth to deceive the world, having the greatest impact on those who willfully rejected the gospel of Jesus Christ prior to that time, as seen in 2nd Thessalonians 2:9-10:
[Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
Those who will be most susceptible to the lies of the Antichrist will be those who heard the gospel of Jesus Christ, understood their need to come to faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and received Him not!
Upon these poor souls, God will send a strong delusion that they should believe a lie - a lie I feel certain the Antichrist will bring forth personally.
I often tell people who are living in rebellion against God's will that it is unbelievably dangerous to reject God's call to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, particularly in light of the following passage of Scripture, 2nd Thessalonians 2:11-12:
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
If you're living your life in rejection of the gospel of Jesus Christ today, consider yourself warned.
Although you may not believe it, if the Rapture should happen in the not-too-distant future and a leader of Roman descent (who will have confirmed a covenant of peace seven precise years in length in the Middle East in fulfillment of Daniel 9:26-27) should begin feeding the world a gigantic lie to explain the disappearance of many, many Christians from around the globe, you may be among the first to believe it, even if you have read this commentary which tells you that you may believe a monstrosity of a lie if these things should come to pass in your lifetime!
What lie would a spiritually gullible public buy?
If the Rapture should happen tomorrow, there's no telling what lie the world would begin to be fed after the Antichrist begins his ascent to global domination soon thereafter, but I continue to believe that UFO phenomena may play a role because of how widely accepted it is that extraterrestrials may be visiting the earth!
Below are several reader comments I selected that were made in response to the CNN report linked above that demonstrate - and clearly to me - just how easily Satan could utilize UFOs to "challenge the reality" of many in the chaos that will ensue after the Rapture of the Church.
"We grow closer to disclosure... Good looks to the Gov. for coming forward on this. Our world teeters on the brink of habitability and strange things are afoot in our skies and oceans."
"As far as what makes sense with this kind of phenomenon, it would not be fair to compare what we think is reasonable with the reasoning of an alien intelligence that could easily be a million or more years advanced than us in their technology."
"I have seen the same thing in Washington State, along with other people who could confirm I wasn't halucinating. It is easy to doubt when you haven't seen it, but impossible after you have. What is not mentioned in the story is the powerful emotions of connectedness I felt when it passed slowly and silently over me, incredibly low in the sky. I am not a conspiracy nut and never gave it much thought until it happened to me."
"They [referring to government] deny it to the public because they believe many could not handle the truth. Especially those with deep rooted religious convictions. We have to alter our view of God and the universe. Does' it really surprise anyone, that our Government could hide this knowledge? There have been several death bed confessions now, from individuals who worked at Roswell. Why on earth would they lie about what they saw at that point?! No families have gotten rich, from their loved one's confession. The most un-intelligent people are those with a closed mind."
This is just a small sampling of what people are saying with nothing truly tangible to build upon! Can you imagine how many would flock to the idea of extraterrestrial involvement if it was offered as so much as a possible explanation for the Rapture of the Church alone?
Following up on the CNN story, the BBC is today reporting on yesterday's UFO event in an article entitled "Call for US to re-open UFO file." The BBC report opens as follows:
A group of former pilots and government officials has called on the US government to re-open an investigation into claims of UFO sightings.
Project Blue Book, run by the US Air Force, was stopped in the late 1960s.
The group, which includes former military officers from seven countries, all say they have seen a UFO or have conducted research into the phenomenon.
However, the Air Force says nothing has happened in the past four decades to justify resuming investigations.
Interestingly, as the Air Force is refusing to look into UFOs any further, a Guardian Unlimited report indicates thst NASA is being tasked with explaining a Roswell-like incident that happened in 1965 in Pennsylvania. The report states the following, in part:
For four decades, residents of the tiny Pennsylvania town of Kecksburg have told their story of strange blue lights in the sky one winter's evening and a fireball crashing into woods.
On 9 December, 1965, they say, they saw armed soldiers cordoning off the area and a large metallic acorn-shaped object bearing strange hieroglyphics driven off at speed on the back of a lorry. They talk of menacing plain-clothes officials visiting homes and warning local people not to tell anyone of what they saw.
Until now the US government has denied that anything sinister took place. It has maintained that a thorough search of the woods by the air force, the only federal agency to have acknowledged it was there, found nothing. But now NASA has been ordered to examine its X-Files to solve the mystery.
Steve McConnell, Nasa's public liaison officer, has admitted two boxes of papers from the time of the Kecksburg incident are missing. The episode has parallels to the 1947 Roswell incident, when a UFO was said to have landed in New Mexico.
The report indicates a judge has given NASA until the end of the year to find its missing boxes of information, adding to the mystery of what took place at the Kecksburg Pennsylvania incident.
While we know that Satan is perpetually trying to forward any idea he believes will lead mankind away from faith in God, I am observing a dramatic upswing in interest in UFOs. What that tells me is that powers and principalities, spiritual wickedness in high places is actively sowing seeds that may later bear very poisionous fruit for unrepentant mankind to gobble up in the Tribulation Period to come. Would it surprise anyone if that turns out to be the case?
