I believe that Satan is mocking God through mimicry. While no one disputes that the dragon in Revelation is Satan, the identities of the beast and the prophet of the beast aren't as easily discerned. We worship God, Father Son and Holy Spirit. We know there's going to be an anti-christ. Analysis of the symbolism in Revelation yields clues that a false messiah isn't the only counterfeit Satan's cooking up. Satan is a spiritual being. We have to resist the temptation to think of him as a reptilian-looking person with leather wings. The dragon in Rev. has 7 heads. As I pointed out in my post on the symbolism of the Holy Spirit there are repeated references to the 7 Spirits of God in both the Old and New Testaments. The 7 heads of the dragon I believe, are the satanic counterpart to the Holy Spirit. The beast that rises out of the sea, also with 7 heads, is simply Satan's unholy spirit unleashed on the world. The dragon falls from the sky [the highest heaven], the beast rises from the sea. The sea and rivers, were frequently used by ancient cultures as symbols representing the spiritual realm on or under the earth, the river Styx in Greek mythology is an example. The third beast, with 2 horns like a lamb, and the mouth of a dragon, rises from the earth. That indicates he is a flesh and blood physical being. Saying he has 2 horns like a lamb unambiguously asserts that he is a counterfeit of the Lamb of God, a false messiah. He exercises all the authority of the first beast [the unholy spirit], who in turn receives his authority from the dragon [father]. The human beast is also the seventh king who has not yet come in Rev.17:10., therefore he is also the seventh head of the beast, or rather his body is inhabited by the spirit represented as the seventh head of the beast. The head that is wounded and recovers [Rev.13:3], is him. As to the identities of the 2 beasts, consider the following.
"...we gave unto Jesus, son of Mary, clear proofs of Allah's sovereignty, and we supported him with the Holy Spirit." the Koran 2:87. There is a footnote in this translation regarding the term "Holy Spirit" in this passage. Here it is verbatim-"The Holy Spirit is a term for the angel Gabriel..." The same "Gabriel" who revealed the following to Mohammed : "They surely disbelieve who say, Allah is the son of Mary... whoever ascribes partners unto Allah...his abode is the fire."the Koran 5:72.
No one can be the son of God according to Islam, not even messiahs. That's why the Mahdi, the messiah of Islam has to be a prophet of Allah [or the beast].

I find it very interesting, however, that the leader of the UN, kofi Annan , is the 7th Secretary General. Who was also re-elected, which makes him also the "8th king" By the way.... his name also adds up to 666 (in the original Hebrew language using the original numorology) His name means "6th day" which is "mans number" as stated in Revelation 13:18 (NIV...which is a translation made from the original Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic script, not translated from another translation like the King James was)
Revelation 17:11 The beast who once was, and now is not, is an eighth king. He belongs to the seven and is going to his destruction.
The anti-christ will soon recieve an injury (fatal) to his arm and right eye, which will be the distinguising sign that he is the anti-christ.
Zechariah 12:17 "woe to the worthless shepherd, who deserts the flock! May the sword strike his arm and his right eye! May his arm be completely withered, his right eye totally blinded!"
I do not think that the Mahdi is the antichrist..... you must find out the meaning of his first name , translate the meaning to Hebrew then come up with the number of his name using Gematria. (hebrew letter numerology)......

I don't how true this is Miche, but I've read that other prominent people in the world also have names that add up to 666. If that's the case, then gematria by itself won't tell us who the antichrist is. As to Rev.17:10-11, here's how I read it. The 7 kings refers back to the 7 heads of the dragon, each with a diadem, generally accepted to be the mark of royalty. The 5 who are fallen refers back to Rev.12:15, the spiritual torrent unleashed by Satan, and swallowed by the earth. The one who is: the phony Gabriel who appeared to Mohammed. The one yet to come: the spirit that inhabits the prophet of the beast. The eighth that belongs to the 7: the person, the physical body inhabited by the "seventh head". The beast that was and is not and is to come: a prophet who in the eyes of Muslims is equal in stature to Mohammed.
Your conclusions regarding Kofi Annan are logical, and make more sense than a lot of what I've read. The problem I have is that the U.N. is so tied in to the "harlot" side of the equation. It's no accident that the Rockefeller family donated the land that the U.N. sits on. Most of the world's people and governments have bought into globalism. The only holdouts are that lunatic in North Korea, and Islamic radicals. If we are in or fast approaching the end times, and if the American led New World Order is the Harlot Babylon, who are the only people publically advocating the total destruction of the Harlot [including the U.N.]? Who is the only enemy of the U.S. to succeed in destroying the very symbol of American economic might? I think this is a case of hiding in plain sight. Most students of Bible prophecy are so focused on some component of the New World Order, be it the U.N or the E.U. that they ignore the possibility of the antichrist coming out of the Islamic world. In his last audio tape, Bin Laden called for the overthrow of the governments in all Muslim countries, and for the entire Muslim world to be governed by a council of wise men [the ten horns?]. If he succeeds in his vision, we would be faced with a unified power that extends from southeast asia to sub-saharan africa, with few breaks in between. This Muslim federation would have all the oil money it needs to buy whatever weapons they want, and over a billion people to draw on for it's military. An article last week in the Christian internet news service, "World Net Daily" quoted from the friday prayer of an Islamic cleric with ties to Al-Quaida: "Allah, rend the armies of Bush as you rent the armies of Caesar". They see us as the new Roman Empire [Rev.17:9].
I was intrigued by the passage in Zech. you quoted. I hadn't considered that before. The first thing that popped into my head was tha last videotape made [not the last one released] by Bin Laden. Analysts studying the tape were quick to notice that he never moved one of his arms, leading them to assume that he was wounded in the battle of Tora Bora. Now I don't know if Bin Laden is the antichrist. There is strong sentiment in parts of the Muslim world that he is their expected messiah. If it's not him, I think it's going to be someone very much like him.
Respectfully yours in Christ,

Miche, I have to agree with Rick concerning kofi Annan as the antichrist. I mean, he could be, but personally I would be surprised. I don't think we will know who it is definitely until he sits himself up in the temple proclaiming himself to be God, as it says in the book of Thessalonians. And whether true belivers in Jesus will be around to witness that ignoble event is debatable too, in my opinion. Maranatha!

Respectfully, Gentlemen, please remember, that the world will follow the anti-christ...... do you really see the world following ben laden the man behind 9/11? Or do you see the world following the man who is in the position to "confirm" the peace treaty in Israel?
Your ideas about the arab nations being the "10 horns" is very interesting however..... It is something I plan on looking into. I assumed it was the EU. Which started as 10 nations and was even known as "The Big Ten" in the beginning....

Miche, I don't know the answer to that. I don't think we can accurately envision what the end-time world will look like though without considering the following:
There are over a billion Muslims now, probably more Muslims than Christians in the world for the first time in history. Islam is spreading like wildfire in places that you don't think of as Muslim, like the Phillipines, Thailand, and equatorial Africa. The reason for this is that Islam holds enormous appeal for those who consider themselves the oppressed masses. Unfortunately, these converts see Christianity as supporting the status quo that holds them down. For them Islam is a powerful liberating force. Islam has become the majority faith in every country where it's taken root, starting with the birthplace of Christianity, the middle east and north africa. The list of countries in Africa that have gone from paganism, to Christianity, to Islam, is long and getting longer. While the Christian, Bhuddist, Hindu, and other faiths have been displaced by Islam in country after country, the reverse never happens. I can't think of one country that became Muslim, then converted to something else. Sadly, many Christians in America and Europe have grown soft in there faith, and left themselves open to all sorts of compromises and heresies. Muslims on the other hand, in general, are fiercely uncompromising in their faith. The odds that a majority of Muslims will abandon their faith to follow a non-muslim antichrist are zero, no matter what signs and wonders he produces. They will call him demonic, and fight to the death, convinced they are going to paradise. Unlike many western Christians, who have comfortable lifestyles, most Muslims are poor, many would gladly trade their harsh existence in this life for a guaranteed ticket to heaven. An Al-Queda operative in the far east was quoted in an interview as saying, "For every one the americans capture or kill, ten more knock on our door wanting to join."
Of all the world's religions, Islam is the only one that seems to have been designed to target, and replace Christianity. Like I said in another post, no other major religion even mentions Jesus. What Islam teaches about Jesus is total blasphemy. That tells me something.

Have you considered catholics? They acknowledge Jesus. We often view Catholics as Christian when in fact they are very far for the truth of Jesus Christ. They are accustomed to worshipping idols. Which would make it very palitable for them to worship the anti-christs image....
If the new pope is the false prophet and the UN leader the anti-christ who suffers a fatal wound and comes back to life....... I can totally see the Catholic church pointing to him and saying......"look the Christ", setting up an image, (like the one of Mary that they worship now) If the statue of mary can "weep" and people are healed (which I believe they are, but not by Gods spirit) then you can totally see the statue of the anti-christ killing non-conformists with fire.
Just a thought.
My thougths on Muslims........... all the nations except one listed in Ezekiel 38 are Muslim states........... God will bring them all agianst Israel for His Purpose.... So that the world will Know He is God. One note on Magog..... I believe it is Iraq (Babylon).....why?
Because Magog is also referred to as Rosh (it is in many commentaries) and Rosh in Hebrew means "Head". Who was the "head" in the statue in Daniel 2?
No other then Babylon.
The world and Heaven will rejoice at the destruction of Babylon.

The King James Version of the Bible has been in use for close to 400 years and has been used more than any other Bible published. It has been used to save more souls than any other Bible and has been the Bible of choice by the great evangelists and soulwinners in history. It has endured and I believe it has been blessed by God. Many people do not understand the King James version because they do not take the time to study the original meanings of the words of the era. In modern translations, many important aspects and events have been left out and even lessing the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ. In one version, Paul's salvation on the road to Damascus was left out. So before lessening the King James, please study it first. It is not my intent to offend anyone, rather to offer an opinion of what I believe is the preserved Word of God. It was good enough for Grandma and it's good enough for me.

i believe in truth so judge me if i may be right or wrong. iwill used ordinary descriptions, then you try to work it out. the dragon is satan. the beast is a demon who is in prison right now. the false prophet is a demon. satan and the one third of angels who sinned are in heaven right now. war has not broke out yet. the seven heads are rulers, the first was alexander the great.the seventh is yet to come. the eighth king is the beast, the seventh head will die, the beast will be released from prison and use his body. the false prophet will control a man whos name adds up to 666, there are two of them. the 666 dude will bring fire down from the sky and be allowed to make a gold statue that talks(it will look like the seventh ruler) the ten nations are russia and nine more like belarus(the seventh head will rule a small nation) he will come to power by trickery. babylon is the queen of nations(europe) the great whore is the roman catholic church. i think god refers to america has egypt, maybe britain is niniveh or tyre. here is what i think will happen. the seventh head or ruler will let a nuke fly at america, america will fight back but russia will destroy them. while this is happening gog will rush to invade israel. there he will be shot. but he will stand up.(this time he is the beast) the kings of the east are china. heres a good question will god have 144,000 sons or 144,001

Interesting... the Anti-trinity (anti Father, Son and Holy Spirit)
Remember the name of the one who was "released" instead of Jesus, just before the crusifixion? The one who was a "thief and a murderer?"
It was "Barabbas"
Barabbas means "son of the father"
hmmm...
a prototype of the ac to come, that the world will recognize as a "Son" of a particular father?
When the disciples asked Jesus to reveal the Father, He told them "If you have seen Me you have seen the Father."
Perhaps the ac will one day state something to the same effect, "If you have seen the father, you have seen me" ???
Satan rules over "non-believers" and IMO does indeed seek to mimic the true Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Non-believers seek with their own eyes in order to "see" God (the false god, of course). It makes sense that satan would deceive the world by showing them a false Father and Son and Holy Spirit.
For the world, that would most likely need to be literal men (i.e. "Man") in order for it to be believable/spiritual/humanistic to them. Thus, it (this title of "Son") would help deceive the world into believing they are doing "God" (of course, who is God to them, other than they themselves - man - what they would consider the Great "I AM.") a favor by persecuting those who are true believers (since they believe themselves to be the "true" believers). Yes, it's going to get difficiult in the last days. Stay in the Word and walk (w)Holy with Jesus.
Love to you all,
Ish

Certainly it is a great time in history right now, things are all coming together.
I think the ac will be someone whom will be like an angel of Light...and many of the elite will be deceived. I just know that if it's too good to be true, then beware.
We must keep in the word of God, continue to pray and continue to let God use us for his service. Certainly we will have eyes to see and ears to hear when we continue to do and think and act on God's will...and the time is now, every moment to always stay close and listen well, and be couragous to help others whose eyes and ears are stubborn.
God Bless All, and help us all lord to do your will every single moment.

the words on the popes' mitre add up to 666 as well. he is most likely the antichrist. think of it this way- he tells the world that to be forgiven- you must confess to him or his designees.......sounds like blaspheme to me! as if he can forgive sins!
then we cant forget the fact that the french- berthier i think was the name- took a pope captive and cut off his head or something like that......a deadly wound huh? i would imagine that would have been deadly because those who followed catholicism back then felt lost without a leader. then america- the supposed land of the free gave the catholic church its props back in the early 1900's - we also wander as a country after the catholic church. the whole world does really.......
