i'm thinking that said STAR was super-natural,.......so, i wouldn't try to explain it with natural phenomena.
notice, the Bible led the Wise men from Jerusalem to the stable in Bethlehem..........a trip of only 6 miles.....
how could a natural star, comet, meteor, etc.........do THAT?
According to Matthew’s Gospel the star lead the Wise Men from the East, but apparently once they arrived in Jerusalem they couldn’t see it because they had to ask where the new king was to be born, but once Herod’s people told them to go to Bethlehem the star reappeared directly over the house where Jesus, Joseph and Mary were living.
If the star were a supernatural event, I would expect it to arouse everyone’s interest, but apparently only the Wise Men from the East noticed it. This would suggest that it was an ordinary astronomical event, but one that didn’t have any astrological significance for the astrologers of the Roman Empire since Herod’s people didn’t seem to notice it.
