There are many things in this world which can be used by the saints for the work of God. Some of the same things can be used by God's enemies (anyone who has not repented) for sin.

Simply because these things are used in this way by our enemies, does that mean we are never to use them for God's work?

Example.

Should we never carry a weapon to protect our families (even though I'm mandated to protect my family) because a criminal has used a similar weapon to commit murder in cold blood?

Should I sell my house because lustful people hold orgies in theirs?

Should I not go to college because some people attend to learn about blasphemous things?

Should I not drive on the interstate because there's a truck using it to deliver supplies to a porn store?

Should I cut off my hands because other people steal with theirs?

I would say of course not, but this is the type of thing that many people claiming to be Christians advocate these days.

They say not to learn self-defense and self-discipline through any martial arts because SOME people use SOME martial arts for evil.

They say not to watch a sports contest because SOME people take it too far and turn a sports team into a false idol.

Are these not the same things? We should not be afraid of what non-Christians do. We should be fighting to take every media of life back for Christ, since He will rule the world anyway! Avoiding everything is not the answer. Turning everything to God's purpose is.
