I've just got a question. I know I'm new to this forum, so I hope someone can tell me what's up.
I came here to discuss life issues and Bible verses with fellow Christians so I could grow in my faith and perhaps help others grow in theirs. However, it seems like eighty percent of the time this board is stuck in the last book in the Bible. Don't get me wrong, I think Revelation is a blessing to read and look at, but there are sixty-five other books which deserve the same amount of attention.
Maybe I just came to the wrong place, but I wonder why end-time prophecy is worth four times the discussion that the rest of the bible is.
I'm not trying to be mean or indicative; I just didn't expect it.
Thanks for you attention.

Prophecy is important, especially in the end times, because we are approaching a time that will be extremely hard to make heads or tails of without the proper study of prophectic Scriptures. I heard that 25% of the Bible deals with prophecy. And that there is a special blessing for those who hear and read the words of the prophecy (Revelations). There are many issues that are important to Christians today, but most of the foundational doctrines of Christianity have already been determined. Prophecy is still controversial and debated hotly amongst the Church.
Does what you believe about prophecy make any difference?- Yes! I firmly believe that it will be almost impossible for so called Christians to remain true to God during the coming persecution of Christians by the Antichrist. He will require the world to take a mark to buy and sell and anyone falling for his lie, will be lost- including professing Christians- that is why I am so moved to seek the truth on this subject. If anyone would like to read a new perspective on Bible Prophecy- go to grandunifiedprophecies.blogspot.com and check out the Bible references.
Don't shrink from controversy- join the quest for truth.

Thank you for replying, Orates.
I understand the blessing offered in Revelation. I look at Revelation just like I do the Bible's other books. I've read people's ideas on the subject. I've read arguments for pre-trib, mid-trib, post-trib, and non-rapture. They all have merit. I just assume let God do what He will, and if it so happens that He wills me to go through the tribulation, so be it. I agree that one should prepare, but man, I wish I could hear studies on other books too. I guess since I didn't grow up in church, and though I've been studying for years, I only really gave my life to Christ a couple years ago, I don't have the background and full knowledge of the scriptures others do. Oh well, just takes work, I suppose.
Thanks again, and I'd still be delighted to hear others' opinions.

Hey Brian....by the way welcome to the forum! I am glad that you found your way here. I think one of the main reasons that prophecy is discussed so frequently on this forum is because it is a Prophecy Forum. I know that most here not only study Prophecy but the entire word of God. Yet I believe that all scripture of the word of God has multiple layers... with I believe the hidden or deepest layer to be prophetic. Anyway start some topics and see where they go. If it is something that I can add anything to... or learn anything from I will surely take a look.
I have been wanting to talk with someone about starting a Bible Trivia Section.... I think that would be fun!
I just love studying the Word!

Fair enough. I just typed in Christian Forum in a search engine and this came up. I wasn't aware of (or didn't do enough research to find out about) the focus on prophecy. I figured it was just a Christian forum!

Brian,
You should start your own threads....I'm sure you could broaden the discussion a bit...that would be a welcome thing.

Thanks, Brother Jon. I've been trying to do that. I'll try and continue too!

Hi Brian, and welcome to the forum.
We are in fact a prophecy forum, as you can see when you look up , in the top left corner in the blue section it says "Bible Prophecy Forum and Christian Discussion"
But I do agree with you as well. I think a balanced outlook is important. We cannot JUST look at prophecy , but we need to discuss the whole Gospel. You will find more such discussions in the Bible Study section.
Although many studies are also end time orientated. I guess its also the time in which we live these days: it is the end times and as such, God is placing it on our hearts a lot.

on the road to Emmaus, Jesus rebuked the 2 disciples, He called them foolish, because they had not studied the PROPHETS (PROPHECIES)..............
if they had studied properly, they would have ANTICIPATED AND UNDERSTOOD BEFOREHAND the sufferings and death of Christ in the FIRST ADVENT.
if we fail to study PROPHECY, we will fail to understand the SECOND COMING.
luke 24;25
13And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.
14And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
15And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
16But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.
17And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?
18And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?
19And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:
20And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.
21But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.
22Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre;
23And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.
24And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.
25Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
26Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
27And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
28And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
29But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
30And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
31And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
32And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
33And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,
34Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.
35And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.
36And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
37But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
38And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
39Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
40And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.
41And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?
42And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
43And he took it, and did eat before them.
44And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
45Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
46And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48And ye are witnesses of these things.
49And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
50And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
51And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.
52And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:
53And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
