Good Morning everyone. You will not see me post as often on the forum. I do not know how lobng this will last. But please pray that the situation will turn out for good.

To make a long story short I needed some minor changes on my computer. I knew an acquaintance that I worked with a few years ago that was in the business of fixing computers. Well, I guess I did not know him well enough because he broke my computer and stole the ethernet card(ripped out of the back) .

All I needed was the defragment and scan disk software fixed because it was down. I think he dropped my computer(it looks like it) and damaged the mother board but did not want to admit it---so now I am no computer and he offered a new one for 50 dollars(second hand). I do not think that is very fair since he broke my computer. My Computer was running and booting fine the day I dropped it off at his business. Now it does not read a picture on the monitor and does not do anything accept go on---but no boot.

Anyway pray that things work out. I am used to everything bad happening to me...oh well I am using the library computer right now.

How about contacting your local server? Maybe they can send a guy to fix the problem. I do it when I have problems with my computer. I call them and ask for their help. I am not a computer freak but I know how it feels when a computer is not working!

There is defragment and scan disk inbuilt in windows xp and vista. Are you using Micrsoft OS or are you using Linux?.

There are many good application for defragment and scan disk software. Most of them are pay version. Though pay version are better in one way.

thats no good. you should have him charged for damaging property.....thats not good at all...especially if hes a computer tech. i know exactly how you feel, although you were luckier then me...i gave my laptop to a computer tech in the same fire brigade i was in last year...havent seen it since....last i heard a few months ago was that they were STILL waiting for a part from bangledesh....
your better off getting a new computer and depending on the brand of computer you get, they will send out someone FROM that company to fix it. i wouldnt trust anyone else with it unless you have heard good things about them.

I just wanted to say thanks everyone for praying about this..in fact i almost forgot I opsted it afew months ago. Not only did everything work and I got new used computer but I was blessed with 2 computers instead.
