Part of what I dreamed last night is a repeating dream that I have had for many years, though in slightly different forms.
I dreamed that at some point in the evening, I went out onto my back porch and looked up into the sky. I could hear a noise that's hard to describe--not quite like a fast plane going overhead, and not quite like a rocket, either, but pretty loud. I saw a fairly large object arcing across the sky, that looked like a planet in darkness. There was not light reflected on it. I couldn't see the moon, either.
I called for my husband to come out, and by the time he got outside, the object had gone out of sight. I kept looking up and saw objects in the sky. It looked like the earth was in the middle of an asteroid or meteor belt, and I couldn't tell if these smaller objects (smaller than the planet) were stationary or falling.
I went back inside the house and went to the front door to open it. Shortly after I opened it and stuck my head out, one of the objects hit the ground not far in front of our house and exploded. I closed the door and told my husband and we started to gather our sleeping children together and were trying to figure out where to go, which was probably going to be the basement. I woke up before anything else happened.
In past dreams the "planet" or comet that I have seen clearly in the sky was not moving, or did not appear to me to move. Sometimes there have been more than one of them. Any thoughts?

I doubt the link below's claim that Saturn would become a star--there's probably just not enough mass for it to gravitationally contain nuclear fusion reactions. However, if it actually explodes (in July 2008) due to a man-made nuclear plutonium fission reaction, enough space junk could be ejected to shower Earth with all kinds and sizes of meteoric material sometime in or around September 2008.

I believe, you dreamt of the endtimes, Shy1. I've thought for the past few years that a comet or meteor strike was how all of mankind will be wipe out on earth. Perhaps a meteor or comet so large it just smashes the earth to pieces.

I am first going to give you a little bit of myself to help you understand where I am coming from in relationship to explaining your dream. As a child of 3 I first began to read the bible. From that point on I always wanted to be out of here before these last days events recorded in the bible became a reality. Back in 1991 I first understood and became a born again of the Holy Spirit Christian. Since than God by His Holy Spirit showed me many dreams and visions of the coming reality of the tribulation and the part I am expected to fulfill in service for Him. So I have been very busy in researching any and all prophecies of and about these last days. I have also established via the internet a large chain of those that see as I do as well. We all our fixed on fulfilling what God has called us to do so we just don't sit around setting dates and such. We just exhort each other and all others as well to get prepared for the coming tribulation.
The tribulation begins with a bang where all the heavens and earth are shaken. Now your planet is a dark heavenly body. This is known as the house of Satan as he is darkness. The bang that shakes the heavens and the earth at the very begining of the tribulation is Satan and all that are his being cast out of heaven and down to the earth. Thus the begining of the tribulation as Satan knows his time is short and in his wrath sets out to destroy all Godlyness that is upon the earth. This is just a forewarning from God to be prepared for the worst of times are just ahead.
Lastly, neither I or anyone else is very special to God. What God through Christ Jesus and His Holy Spirit has for one is the same for everyone else as well. Some have just learned to listen more intently and or in differant ways than others. This is the primary reason for fellowship, which is nothing other than sharing what we all have or know about our Lord and God. Togeather we get a more fuller picture of our own personal relationships with God, thus each other. By all means please keep paying attention to your dreams and please above all listen for God's Holy Spirits guidance/instructions for you personally. Each and every believers guidance and instructions will differ as to who, what, when, ect, to equip the believer perfectly.
I personally pray for strength and enlightened guidance by God's Holy Spirit at all times. Especially now that the time is pressing. Your dream of forewarning does prove God's Love is with and for you.

I had no idea about this. That's one of the things I love about this forum--plenty of people who know about things I haven't heard! Thanks for sharing this--now that I'm aware of it, I'll check it out. I wouldn't be at all surprised if some of the things in the book of Revelation are brought about by some kind of celestial body coming near the earth, even if nothing actually hits.

This is a scary thought for whoever is here to be destroyed, as we know from Revelation that many will be. But doesn't somebody have to be here when Jesus returns? And I wonder how much advance warning anybody would have for a large meteor or comet.

Wow, JLM--thanks so much for this post! I agree with you about fellowship and sharing what we have and know about our Savior. That's why I love this forum. You mentioned that "the time is pressing," and I feel that way, too. Be prepared--another thing I got from your post. To me, that's the whole armor of God and oil in our lamps. We are so blessed to have been given instructions in the scriptures and the opportunity to fellowship with others. I feel blessed today!

The key information is based on the differences between the back door area, versus the front door
area.
BACK AREA =

Uh Oh--I've never thought about it from that perspective! I'd best stay away from the front door!
In the dream, once my husband came to the back door, he saw the smaller objects that were hanging in the air. He was watching while I went out the front door. Once we saw what was happening, the only possible plan was to go into the basement, but we weren't sure that was going to keep any meteorites from hitting us in the head. We didn't have anywhere else to hide, though.
Some of the times I had this dream were before I was married. Obviously then I would be the only one looking out the door--but I think at this point I was looking out the front window (a picture window) and could see what was in the sky.
Marriage . . . I'm the one home with the kids most of the time, and a lot of the things that need to be done fall to me because he's at work, so I'm just used to checking out what is going on and handling things when I'm home. In real life, he's also busy when he is home, and sometimes is a little slow to catch up to what is happening until he gets his head out of a report or something else he has to do for work or with one of the kids.

I looked quickly at the pole reversal dream and the links contained in the response posts, and so far I have a couple of things--I'm not sure if I'm on the same track you are thinking about.
1. It seems like an event like I saw in my dream would be the kind of thing that would/could cause a pole reversal and even a reversal in the earth's rotation. Do you believe this is a likely thing to happen, or a thing that is indicated in the Bible?
2. The correct action to take when/if such a thing happens (and anything, really,) is to stop and kneel and pray and ask for God's protection and guidance. In my dream, we were going to get to the basement first and then stop and pray. Would that be a wrong course of action? I guess it would--there might not be safety in the basement, and we should pray first. Maybe we have these kinds of dreams so we can learn what we SHOULD do if such events happen. It would be a blessing to find out ahead of time how one should react. (This reminds me of dreams that I've had about having to cast out evil spirits--if I were ever faced with such a situation, I would have a better idea what to do because I had the dreams and had the chance to think/pray/read about how to handle the situation.)
It seems that many people are dreaming things like this. I just wonder how much warning there would be before something like this happened.
