Why is it that when someone tells the Truth, but the truth hurts - moderators on the forum delete posts to suit the other member feelings?

Why is it that you assign motives to other people's actions when you can only guess at the motives, possibly looking through the lenses of offense? Just for the record, I don't know of any case where your assigned motive actually had anything to do with a moderator action, though we do act on reports sent to us. But those reports don't dictate our actions. If it has happened, I'm not aware of it.

We get accused of censoring which is sometimes true. It is sometimes our responsibility to do so. The pressure to not censor out inappropriate material is worldly in nature, according to the ever deteriorating standards of this age. I don't and won't subscribe to such standards. In this world, censoring is a dirty word. Tolerance has become a form of idolotry, approaching a counterfeit holy status.

Does anyone really want to be a moderator, where you can't please everyone, and some let you know it?

Just for the record, I respect Togarma and like to read his posts, this isn't aimed at him, just an open door to use my soapbox. I too like to provoke thought.

In Love l say;

Honesty is the best policy.

When you allow people to express what's in their hearts the expose' has begun. Amen?

Unless we get into some really weird stuff with cursing or Satanic overtones l believe everyone should be able to post uncensored. People can read and think for themselves.

The real crime lies in the fact that the people who disagree the most with the greatest impact don't refute but allow a particular teaching to continue. There's always an argument over the plumb line...but according to who. It's an open forum.. Let the teachers teach. Let the dreamers speak and time will tell.

A person can be sincerely wrong and only God can judge the motive.

In today's Churches this kind of censorship is rampant. In some churches every word publicly spoken is censored. Worship is censored. Announcements are censored. I want the opportunity to think for myself. I don't want the world to look at Christians like were some kind of white washed pretend do good-er who can't carry on a conversation with out getting in a huff.

If you call people names then you're exposed. If you loose your temper all the time..then you're exposed. This demonstrates to others the level of maturity. If you try to hide what people say for appearances sake and censor their words then your aiding the enemy in the cover up...you make people appear to be something they're not. White washed do good-ers with an agenda you've helped to cover up.

I was on a prayer chain once that did this. For goodness sakes! I can read and figure out for myself. When a person speaks and exposes parts of themselves we can then pray for what's really ailing the person...maybe it's not even what they requested originally in prayer. This kind of thing really aggravates me. Respect the rights of others to hear and think for themselves.

I understand that sometimes allowing certain activity must come to and end...But before it does...allow the bugs to come out of the woodwork to feed. That way you kill two birds with one stone.

.... The only ones we should be offending are the ones IN THE WORLD, or FROM THIS WORLD... tongue.gif

and they are easy to spot! wink.gif

And no, not one of us holds the absolute truth BUT God knows the intents of our hearts and for me that's enough... wub.gif

And to all moderators, thank you for taking your time to view our posts. It is not an easy task! You are like our pastors: you admonish and rebuke us when we are wrong. We should do that to each other, gently but firmly... happy.gif

And prayer! is censored....

It's hard to be thankful for that in a church setting. They expose themselves. Let them or it will go on longer and longer.

Here's what they do in some churches...

They sit around the staff table once a week and discuss peoples lives based on hearsay and half truths. That's a fact. Judgements are reached and black balls are rolled. I guess the unfairness is that people aren't allowed to defend themselves against this behind the scenes onslaught. If you don't think this happens, think again. There's usually one antagoniser that has a beef and sways the thinking of others. There's a secretive power hold going on. I'm awful sounding l know. I guess there are some things l need to work through. I love our mods.

I add to that thanks too. Thank you Mods!

Miki,

I don't know what you've been exposed to but I can guess anyway, and it doesn't look like it was pretty. We all who have been around a while can speak of mistakes, abuses and poorly or wrongly run church leadership like you're talking about. All of that is granted. I have a radio program and I deal with such all of the time. But I say it as a pastor who's been in church leadership since the late 80s.

There's also a lot of people who do it right, so much as can be expected realistically. You don't seem to have much experience with those who are doing it right.

The truth regarding this forum and censorship is that barely anything gets censored out. But someone will surely cry foul when we have to do that. But We don't consider it a bad thing at all. Contrarywise, it is very bad if we 'let it all hang out' so everyone can 'decide for themselves'.

Satan used that tactic with Eve and we're no different today, though circumstances of course differ. I live in New Orleans and I can tell anyone who wants to know where that European style liberalism leads to. The stuff that we do delete is widely available all over the internet for anyone who desires such. But this is not the place to find it.

You want to hash out a hundred different intepretations of scripture, some ignorant, some heretical, some rediculous, some plausible, this is the place. But to allow strife and contention to run unabated so that good members have me delete their membership because they don't have peace here, that's another story. Sometimes we have to delete posts due to objectionable content or the same in links that are provided. Censorship? You bet! People pay for that service to protect their minds and families with filters.

And we're not the only Christian forum that protects the sanctity of our site. It is only fitting to do so.

And thank you all for your appreciation. We love you guys.

Anybody want to help us support those widows & orphans?
Miki
You're right Chrio...this has caused some issues to surface with me. I do have experience with it being done right..It's just those freeking tares taking up space that bug me. Please accept my apology for allowing unresoved personal issues to color my thinking. I do love you guys.
chrio39
Miki, those tares irk me too. They influence the wheat greatly as well, so that the wheat accepts and practices the same ungodly methods and doctrines that were'nt in the church as set up by the original apostles.

I try to cause those who are wheat to see their error, and repent. I've had to do that myself many times, and likely still will.

Miki, I accept your apology and thank you for it, though I didn't need it. You know that I love you!
