Christian-Forum.net > General discussion > What do you say?
Sand
yeah because this is a big deal in today's society...

1. what is your job occupation?

2. did god tell you to persue this, yes or no?

Roxygal
Hey Sand,

I own a commercial playground construction company with my husband. No the Lord did not tell me to go this route. But the Lord is Sovereign...It's no mistake that I worked as a maid and a condo painter in high school, then picked up a job as a sales gal at a health club after moving to a different state...see the pattern here...over time I worked several odd jobs, went to school, did different things. But the Lord knew where He wanted me and directed my path. We are all right where we should be in our time of life. He didn't say to me...hey Lisa go paint condos... He said follow Me...so I did. Live your life as the Bible says and the Lord will direct your path.

I had a desire to paint, like craving for ice cream, or the like. It was something I couldn't shack, and when i did paintings, it was as if things just made so easy and right. Now for singing, it is diffent, I don't like to her myself sing at all, but it is the only thing that G-d really told me to do for him. I everytime I sing, there are a lot of people that like it, and only a few that dont, they seeming mostly those that long to keep others down. But when focusing on doing things in worship to G-d, and blocking out what others do around you, doing these things as an act of loving on G-d, I can see that he moves because of it. I just had to get why I was doing it right and once I did, things when right in line.

you are starting out, so things will seem over walming. Don't let yourself lose it though just because things get hard, if you keep a possitive out look on it, others will see, and want you around them.
Sand
well i'm confused, i read a testimony of an atheist who came to jesus and jesus told this guy to be a CHEF.

Roxygal
Why are you confused? I'm sure some people have been told by the Lord what to do...but not me.
Sand
yes they sure have...people don't think that kind of thing happens. they are unlearned and annoying people.

Some have G-d tell them and others aren't called to do something right away. You might go for years with out hearing G-d tell you to be anything at all. Or it might be right infront of you, but that you arent seeing it. Like putting two and two together! Add up what is in your life, I have seen things about you already that shows you are good at thinking things through most of the time, but you are negitive with what you get. I have seen you have the ability to se with others and confert them inorder to help them not be stress to much. You did that with the girl in your life. This was just out of your own words, and the fact that G-d has started showing you spiritual things about yourself in away that would be helpful, this is a start of being able to help others. You just have to learn to help your self. Modivate yourself, and you will gain the keys to modivate others. That all can be a job, or many jobs. You come here alot to get help. You can help others see that they may need help themselves as well. No matter how up setting this may seem, don't look at yourself through others lives, just because you aren't in the military, or college, or other things that people your age is doing doesnt mean that you are a falure. No, your not! You can do all things through Chrsit that stranthans you.

Why don't you look on the net about becoming a councelor, this can be for anything or a set group of people, and the fact that you are a christain will be more helpful to others than going to a normal councelor. Pray about it. You will know that it is for you if you feel peace inside when in the act of doing it, and it will seem so right. That doesnt mean that it will not be hard for you to do, but in time who knows this might be right for you. Read all you can about it, from christian points, and see what you would need to do inorder to do it.

So who are you talking about! I for one have hard G-d tell me, but G-d doesn't tell everyone. Moses was in he late Fourty's befor he hard G-d calling him. So there are those that know that this happens, even if it hasn't been to them and they are ok with that. As fo those that have, just because they have doesnt mean they are unlearnied nor annoying. Are yoy bothered by what G-d seems to do for others and not for you! I can see where that can be annoying, but it isn't the falt of those that have this happen. G-d is doing a new thing in you. Personally, I don't think you would want to have the set of things G-d has for them to go through, each one of us of have our own proublems and struggles that seem so over. Brother, when you say these people are annoying and unlearned, that was not only wrong, but mean!

I have a JD....I have found the above two don't have much in common and are, for the most part, mutually exclusive. Like an immovable object and an irresistable force in the same universe.

I have done and been most everything....dad made sure of that. But found, in the end, farming is the only thing that makes sense. So I gave up all the degrees and the California way, moved to the South where God told me to go and married a dairy farmer that he told me would be waiting for me....gave me his social and his birday so I would be sure to get the right guy.

work the dairy, tend the animals health and breeding schedules, raise and homeschool two lovely children, accountant for our two businesses, used to milk but hired someone else thank God, process and bottle milk from our cows and run the farm store that sells milk, chees, butter and ice cream.

That would be about half my days.........

10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
