THE GREAT MULTITUDE GO INTO THE WILDERNESS
They will be kept away from the ‘day of vengeance’ and from tribulation, until the ‘rapture’ on the last day of the year 5768 or September 30, 2008.
John had no problem identifying the martyrs of the fifth seal as deceased souls, Revelation 6:11b, “and their brethren that were to be killed”. This description makes it very clear that the fifth seal martyrs were dead and WILL REMAIN SO until the resurrection of Revelation 20:4, that will fulfill the prediction of 6:11b.
The great multitude of Revelation 7:9, CANNOT BE members of the same group that are in Revelation 6:9-11 or John would never of asked WHO THEY WERE in Revelation 7:14.
Being told that ‘these are they which CAME OUT of great tribulation. The Greek words for "came out of," are "erchomai ek," with "ek" translated as "out of, from, by, AWAY FROM by Strong's Concordance (#1537).
It is entirely possible that the great multitude is taken "away from" the great tribulation, because there description INDICATES LIVING BELIEVERS and obviously not tribulation martyrs! They are wearing white robes and holding palm branches, these are robes of righteousness.
We tend to forget about the promise given in Revelation 3:10, "Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will KEEP THEE FROM the hour of temptation, which shall come upon the entire world, to try them that dwell upon the earth."
The Greek words for "keep from" are "tereo ek", promising that faithful believers will be "kept from" (tereo ek) the hour of temptation,
Revelation 7:14-16 describes THE GREAT MULTITUDE as having been taken "away from" (erchomai ek) great tribulation being fed and having water to drink.
The “taking away from” is DESCRIBED AS A RESCUE in other texts as well such as Luke 21:36, "Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man."
And also in 1 Thessalonians 1:10, "... And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come."
A final objection could come from the traditional pre-trib view in that the great multitude is explained as having come "out of great tribulation," then certainly they must have experienced some of it!
The truth is that they will, the attack on the US and its aftermath along with the third through fifth seal we all will face and be tried and tested.
Its at the ‘sixth seal’ when the great multitude is taken "away from" the great tribulation and INTO THE WILDERNESS!
As a matter of fact it will be simultaneously as the ‘seal’ is peeled and the “day of vengeance and year of recompense” begin. Those living saints or great multitude of Revelation 7:9 ARE SYMBOLIC like so many other players in the book of Revelation.
They are symbolic of the ‘REMNANT’ WHO FLED INTO THE WILDERNESS!
COMFORTING WILDERNESS TEXTS
The “day of vengeance and the year of recompenses for the controversy of Zion”, Isaiah 34:8, is just about upon us. What is overlooked by most scholars is that this simultaneous event, has the “year of my redeemed” coming with it!
In Isaiah 63:1-4 below, Yeshua has just eliminated the ‘militant Muslim’ threat from around Israel, fulfilling Psalm 83, and Isaiah 17 plus numerous other scriptures. Now the antichrist is about to come into Jerusalem, somewhat peaceably, for his so called year of glory, it is at this time the “great multitude” is redeemed as God’s fury is poured out!
They are rescued from around the world and tabernacle in the wilderness while the tribulation’s final 13 moon cycles count out Daniels “2300 day vision”.
Isaiah 63:1 Who is this that comes from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? This that is glorious in his apparel, traveling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness mighty to save 2 Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that tread in the wine vat? 3 I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment. 4 For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.
Revelation 12:13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. 14 And to THE WOMAN were given two wings of a great eagle that she MIGHT FLY INTO THE WILDERNESS, into her place, where she is nourished for A TIME, and TIMES, and HALF A TIME, from the face of the serpent.
Psalm 27:5 For IN THE TIME OF TROUBLE he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. 6 And now shall my head be lifted up above MY ENEMIES AROUND ME: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.
Micah 2:12 I will surely assemble, O Jacob, ALL OF THEE; I will surely gather THE REMNANT OF ISRAEL; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as THE FLOCK IN THE MIDST OF THEIR FOLD: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.
Hosea 2:14 Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and BRING HER INTO THE WILDERNESS, and speak comfortably unto her. 15 And I will give her vineyards from there, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.
Jeremiah 23:3 And I WILL GATHER THE REMNANT OF MY FLOCK out of all countries whither I have driven them, and WILL BRING THEM AGAIN TO THEIR FOLDS; and they shall be fruitful and increase. 4 And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, says the LORD.
