Last night I went for a walk at the local metro park, Blacklick Metro Park. There was a doe in the woods staying far away from people. When I was alone on the path, I got down, and mimicked a fawn bleat. She looked up at me. She bobbed her head around looking right at me (deer bob their heads to try to get other animals to move so the deer can determine what animal is looking at them). She got closer to me, she stomped her right foot twice for each fawn bleat. I got the impression she was saying, "OK, I got close to you. Now you get to where I can see you or I won't come any closer." So I stood up, walked in a clearing where she could tell I was human and not a fawn; and she showed she trusted me. She walked right up to me without any fear. She completely relaxed. She came within 10 feet of me. She ate and she let me talk to her. She didn't startle at all. I felt a special connection with her. After a while, the moment was over, some people several 100 feet away startled her and she had to be on her way. I thank GOD that HE injects wonder into my life right when I think there is too much stress in life for me get much enjoyment from life. I felt this tremendous peace fill my spirit as I walked. I felt at rest.

Beautiful story. Three times in the last month my son has found a little bird that let him pick him up. Not sure if it is the same bird or not. Very unusual, I can't ever remember being able to pick up a wild bird when I was his age or any age for that matter.

Great story.
I had a similar experience here in Australia. I was in the bush sitting on a rock for a long time not moving or making any noise and an echidna came snuffling up rummaging around looking for ants. He came right up to my feet. Of course echidna's are not as alert and flighty as deer. They are short sighted and rely on hearing and sense of smell to detect danger. When threatened they curl up into a ball of spikes rather than trying to run off.
Here is a picture of an echidna. They are kind of cute.

Echidnas counfound evolutionary theory because they are monotremes ie. they only have one hole like reptiles instead of two as do most female mammals. It is only one of two mammals which actually lays an egg, the platypus being the other one. It is a soft leathery egg which they manually place into their pouch. The leathery egg hatches inside the pouch and the baby echidna, called a puggle is born. It then lives in the mothers pouch licking milk off a milk patch which is where the milk is excreted through the skin. Monotremes are also unique in that they are the only mammals which do not have nipples for feeding their young.

Shortly after my 'hanging in the balance petunia basket event', l went out to get in my car. It was a stressful time and it seemed l was always in a hurry. As l walked to the front of the house where the car was parked l saw a Morning Dove sitting on the lawn. Right out in the middle of the lawn. Sitting not standing. No protection around it. Just smack dab in the middle of the lawn. It didn't fly away as l walked closer....and closer...I thought it might be injured. I talked to it. Still it stayed. Finally it did just fly away. I hardly ever see doves though l have heard them coo cooing. But it stayed long enough for me to have a special moment.

for a long time, there were doves and crows appearing in my dreams...I didn't understand the connection, then GOD said in a dream, the crow represents war, and the dove represents peace

Earlier this year, my friend (and the co=author of a book we both wrote "Bible and Numbers" was in Moscow, at the office of a close friend of President Putin, and as he was trying to tell him about Jesus and his Gospel, a chickadee burrowed her way in frantically through the venitian blinds. The man was startled and speechless. He had never seen a bird do that, much less try to enter in his office.
My friend added that there was litterally a "play of words from God" because "chickadee" is "MESANGE" in French, which rings like "MES ANGES" (my angels)...

we had an unusual night the other day...
our dog had been barking off and on during the evening...and it was
becoming annoying...i thought it was a dog out on the street at first,
then i realized it was our dog...
about at the moment i was getting ready to take a bath, my mom
runs in and is agitated...and yells for me to come to the backyard
because something is swimming in the pool...i asked is it the dog?
when i got there, we were standing in the dark...and then i saw
something swimming...the water was moving...at first i thought
it was a rat...so, i thought to myself i am going to save a rat, the
towel already in the water...
then, my mother turned the light on...it was a baby possum. i put
the towel in and brought it to the the shallow water where is wrapped
it in the towel...and then released it into a vine in the yard...
it rested for awhile, then it climbed up the vine...moving above it's
terrible ordeal...and the next day it was gone. praise God.

There're bigger and much uglier!

Know what a possum on the half-shell is?
An armidillo!

Last summer while lying on a blanket in a grassy area near the beach, a brown bird, bigger than an average sparrow, came right up to me. I put some bread bits in my hand and it ate them...right out of my hand! After a couple of minutes, it flew away. It came back again, walked right up to me and, again, ate right out of my hand. The bird repeated this again; exactly 5 times total. We stayed at least an hour longer, but the bird never came back. I feel there was a purpose for this happening. I was really blessed!

Love a good bird story.

What a wonderful, profound experience GOD sent you.
There's a titmouse that would come to me while I was relaxing in the yard to pull out my hair out for his nest. When he landed on my head, he was so settle about my hair, I didn't feel him pull my hair. Birds are entertaining...just watching them is a treat...

Wow. I find it interesting that the bird was willing to take the risk to pull your hair out. Or, maybe it knew, instinctively, that there was no risk.

You must have been smiling from ear to ear.

What a blessing!
