God Says - "Bring On The Fatted Calf!"

Recently, have you felt as though you had been "shut up into the hand of the enemy"? Do you find yourself in the midst of trouble...in a narrow gorge with nowhere to go...greatly straitened by your circumstances...in the jaws of affliction...hedged up with sorrow and pain...or at a loss? Then this message is for you. Receive comfort from the Holy Spirit and encouragement from your Father in heaven Who knows your name... sees you when you fall...and is mindful of where you are at this very moment. The Good News is - Jesus is preparing a "feast" for you - yes, right in the midst of your enemies!

"Sweet is pleasure after pain. Enlargement is the more delightful after a season of pinching poverty and sorrowful confinement."
- Charles Spurgeon

"Past favor is a ground of hope for the future."
- Jamieson, Fausset & Brown Commentary

In Psalm 4:1, David spoke these words - "...when I was in distress..." How many can relate to what he is talking about here? He has your attention, doesn't he? Simply because there is not a human on the face of the earth that cannot say that at one time in their life, they came "face-to-face" with this "d" word. Every one would have to agree that at some time in their life, they experienced pressure, confinement, or trouble. Who has not encountered being caught between a "rock and a hard place"? Or felt squeezed into a situation with no escape in sight?

In Psalm 18, he spoke of "many waters"(verse 16)..."my strong enemy"(verse 17)...and "the day of my calamity"(verse 18). It sounds life-threatening, doesn't it? Yet, who has not witnessed difficulties like David described?

In Psalm 31, he spoke of being "shut up into the hand of the enemy"(verse - experiencing "trouble"(verse 9)...your "life...spent with grief... and years with sighing"(verse 10)...failing "strength"(verse 10)...being "forgotten"(verse 12)...and being "slandered" (Verse 13). In Psalm 118, he added that his enemies thrust sore at him hoping that he would fall(verse 13).

These were the plans and assignments of Satan against God's servant.

However, the story doesn't end there - for David also relates of God's Mighty Intervention on his behalf.

In Psalm 4;1, we read - "Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: Thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress..."
In Psalm 18:19, we read - "He brought me forth also into a large place; He delivered me, because He delighted in me."
In Psalm 18:36, we read - "Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip."
In Psalm 31:8, we read - "And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: Thou hast set my feet in a large room."
In Psalm 118:5, we read - "I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place. "

In opposition to the "distress," relief was afforded to David by God. He dashed down the rocks and broke down the barriers that hemmed him in. He freed, rescued, and helped him out of danger. He cleared the way for him - giving him a wide place for his steps. He brought him into a broad place where he could once again move freely. David found that he had space and freedom on every side. God did more for him than he could ever ask or dream.

Job 36:16 offers a similar account of what David was describing - "Even so would He have removed thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table should be full of fatness." God is shown to be able to take His servants from the narrow and pent-up way where it is impossible to move and bring them into a wide and open path. He is able to deliver out of the jaws of affliction and trouble and translate into a state of ease and freedom. The "broad place" "where there is no straitness" is the total opposite of the "strait." It is a place of prosperity - an open area or a wide place that is not cramped or fenced up. The "strait" is where one finds poverty and affliction. The "broad place" is the place where one discovers a plentiful table - covered with all of God's richest blessings.

"Thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress..."
"He brought me forth also into a large place..."
Thou hast enlarged my steps under me..."
"Thou hast set my feet in a large room."
"...the LORD...set me in a large room."

In this "large room" is a table filled with the "fatness of His house"(Psalm 36: - a "feast of fat things"(Isaiah 25:6). And it is prepared right "in the presence of the enemy"(Psalm 23:5).

The devil may be right at the door, yet God "prepares a table" - yes, right in the midst of the most trying circumstances. Since he can no longer prevent it, the enemy is compelled to look on and witness the proof of God's favor for His servant. Delightful provisions are poured out like showers from heaven. Every want is supplied...every craving gratified...and every capacity of his is filled. No desire is left unsatisfied. What an occasion of joy this is as the saint of God goes from poverty and "straitness" to the abundance of provision and sumptuousness. He is overshadowed with the riches and abundance of his God.

It's a time when God says -
"Bring on the fatted calf!"

Remember David's words that were quoted at the beginning of this message?

"...when I was in distress..."

Just as He did for David, God is going to bring you out of your "distress" and "enlarge" you. He is going to translate you from poverty to prosperity. He is going to bring you into a "large place" where there will no longer be demonic hindrances, restraints, or obstructions. In that "large room," you will "feast" on God's provision - His "fatted calf" prepared just for you.

You are really going to enjoy this feast. Why?

Because - "Sweet is pleasure after pain. Enlargement is the more delightful after a season of pinching poverty and sorrowful confinement."

Enjoy it! It's coming!

Prayer for Today!

FOR THIS CAUSE

The Word of God says:

Exodus 9:16 (KJV)

And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.

2 Chron. 32:20 (KJV)

And for this cause Hezekiah the king, and the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz, prayed and cried to heaven.

John 12:27 (KJV)

Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour

John 18:37 (KJV)

… To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

Ephes. 3:14 (KJV)

For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Col. 1:9 (KJV)

For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

1 Thes. 2:13 (KJV)

For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

1 Tim. 1:16 (KJV)

Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

1 Peter 4:6 (KJV)

For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

AUGUST 11th 2007:

+ One needs to walk in the "fullness" of the provision [Covenant] that I have made for them in Christ [the Anointed One and His Anointing] - in order to fulfil the "fullness" of the ministry [destiny ]that I have called them to.

+ There is a task[s] to carry out, and a "warfare" to be waged in this most critical hour!

+ There is no "self-sufficiency" in Heaven - nor is there any "self-sufficiency" in the Kingdom.

+ My children can bear no "fruit" in the edification of My Church or the establishment of My Kingdom in the earth apart from "revelation" - and a continued obedience to that revelation[s].

+ "Self-justification" - in any form - has nothing to do with the exercising of faith or love.

+ It is only a perfect love that casts out "all" selfishness [fear-pride]. If one "believes" that they can stand in the pulpit to minister My Word while "maintaining" a lackadaisical [negligent] attitude in their diligence concerning obedience in the practical affairs of their daily life then they are deceived! For truly I say to you, for My Church to reach the fullness of the physical manifestation of My Glory in their midst [the Glorious Church] EVERY word that goes forth from every pulpit must be ministered in the "fullness of conviction" [absolute truth in the unhindered power of My Spirit]. For it is only in this way that My people can be continually "elevated" to their "proper spiritual positioning" in this hour. Hence, the great importance of each and every one of My children being found partaking of that which comes from only from a "true" spiritual environment - both individually and corporately.

Elul--Preparing to Meet the King
By Rabbi Barney Kasdan
Ah…summer! It is certainly a favored time of year for many people. The warm weather, outdoor activities, baseball and barbeques (among other things) all add to the enjoyment and break from the routine of the rest of the year. In the Jewish calendar cycle we might be tempted to think that it is also a respite from busy activities and holy days that pack into the rest of the year. But think again. Maybe in the back of our minds we anticipate the coming High Holy Days in September and October. Yet the spiritual preparation for these important festivals actually begins by mid-August. Since Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur are so vital to our spiritual journey, Jewish tradition also mandates that the month before should become a time of spiritual and emotional preparation. It starts with the sixth month on the Hebrew calendar called Elul (this year starting on August 18). The 29 days of this month is added to the 10 days of the next month (Tishrei) to give us a 40-day period of spiritual contemplation. Those who attend a weekday synagogue service will notice some distinct additions to help us focus on our personal preparation for the Holy Days. The shofar (ram's horn) is sounded every day except Shabbat during Elul as a wake-up call to consider the state of our soul and our relationship to our Heavenly Father. Likewise it is traditional to recite Psalm 27 following services ("The L-rd is my light and my salvation…"). The last week of Elul is emphasized with the reading before the morning services of the Selichot prayers for forgiveness and mercy. The common themes throughout this 40-day period are repentance and preparation to meet our King. While there is a serious and even an awesome side to this preparation, reminders of G-d's love are also evident. We are told that the four Hebrew letters of the word Elul comprise an acronym for the beautiful verse in Song of Songs "ani l'dodi v'dodi li" (I am my Beloved's and my Beloved in mine), a clear reassurance of G-d's love for His people.
Those of us in Messianic Judaism continue in various levels of observance of our heritage and certainly appreciate the spiritual lessons found in the month of Elul. In fact, Messianic Jews and non-Jews have a great additional motivation to value this season even beyond what the rabbis emphasize. It seems that the month of Elul and the 40-day period was observed by our Messiah Yeshua. "Then Yeshua was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan. And after He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He became hungry" [Matthew 4:1-2]. Is there evidence that suggests that this could be the intense time of Elul?
I believe the chronological information in the gospels lead us to this conclusion. If, as many conclude, Yeshua was born in the fall during Sukkot or the High Holy Days, then he start of his public ministry would also commence during the High Holy Days as indicated by the statement of Luke 3:23 (that Yeshua was about thirty years old at that time). This would be the perfect time of preparation and testing for Yeshua as he was about to embark on his earthly ministry to Israel. In his case, not only did it include the closng fast of Yom Kippur, but an intense fast for the entire 40-day period. It seems the content of Yeshua's early message is also thematically consistent with Elul and the High Holy Days: "Repent for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand" [Matthew 4:17]. Indeed, if the Kingdom is near, all Israel should prepare to meet King Messiah!
As we transition from summer to the Holy Days, may we, the modern day followers of Yeshua, take a fresh look into our hearts and spirits. May these 40 days leading up to Yom Kippur be a time of sober introspection as we evaluate our relationship with G-d and our fellow man. May this season of Elul prepare us to welcome King Messiah into our midst in a fresh, dynamic way.

Shalom

I the Lord shall have a "true voice" in the land. Many have tried to shut down my remnant of prophet's who know me as the lamb and the lion, but I say....they NEVER will! I will always have those who are willing to lay their life down for me. I will have those who are willing to look persecution in the face without blinking, and those who KNOW me for who I AM!

Now you my beloved bride, you must learn to discern who is "of me" and who is not! Read my word. What lines up with my word? Is the bible you read intact? Do you see two testaments? Did I mistakingly leave one in when I wanted it taken out? No. I am flawless and without mistake!
Have you not been warned by me in my word that perilous times would be coming? Yet many of you continue to reject my written word, due largely out of fear! Your excuse is that "fear is not of God". I have NOT given you a spirit of fear....but read on, my beloveds. I HAVE given you a sound mind! A sound mind would mean that you have understanding to see the signs of the times and know that your God will be your guide and protector. Are you like the Pharisees who refuse to believe even when it is in plain sight?

Many of my prophet's are feeling an urgency in their spirit. They know that time is of the essence, and they feel their voice (which represents me) will be shut down and disregarded. I now speak to you, my friends. I tell you that your voice will stand as one entity upon the earth. Though there are those who refuse to heed the words that I speak through you, I will ALWAYS have my voice in the lands. Fear not! The urgency in your spirit has been placed there by me. I the Lord will never allow satan or his principalities in high places to remove you from the scene. I will start to unfold the "end time" events to more and more. I will even reveal my true nature to those in "higher up" positions and they will say to you, "surely, your God IS the God of Elijah"!

Keep rejoicing for those who will come into the kingdom. Rejoice for those who will be brought out of their bondages. I will heal the land of those who will turn to me with their whole hearts and repent of their iniquities. I am still the same yesterday, today and forever....I still died for all and I still love all.

2Timothy 1:7
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven, and cringing and fawning fear), but (He has given us a spirit) of power and of love and of a calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self control.

1Peter 4:12-14
Beloved, do not be amazed and bewildered at the fiery ordeal which is taking place to test your quality, as though something strange (unusual and alien to you and your position) were befalling you.

But insofar as you are sharing Christ's sufferings, rejoice, so that when His glory [full of radiance and splendor] is revealed, you may also rejoice with triumph [exultantly].

If you are censured and suffer abuse [because you bear] the name of Christ, blessed [are you--happy, fortunate, to be envied, with life-joy, and satisfaction in God's favor and salvation, regardless of your outward condition], because the Spirit of glory, the Spirit of God, is resting upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.
