I am going to jump to Genesis for a bit. I want to show you something that will hopefully set some people free. We have always been taught that we (the church) is God's second choice (plan B )and the Israel was His first love.
I am going to show you through three examples that this is not true.
First you have to understand that what the Bible tells us about the Old Testament, that is was written for us (NT) 1Co 10:11 Now these things happened unto them
by way of example; and they were written for our admonition,
upon whom the ends of the ages are come. Well, that is clear. Its and example for those at the end of the ages (ages, plural...Paul was standing in one such an age and we are standing in another such an "end of the age" )
Before judging what I am saying, please read for yourself and let the Spirit guide you. See with your spiritual eyes, because you are a member of the spiritual people of God (not the letter)
The Bible tells us that Israel is the letter (LAW people) and we are the spirit people.
Everything that happened to Israel in the letter, we have a spiritual example for.
Israel lived the physical letter of history, so God's could teach His spiritual people (us)
That said: God gave us even a piece of history that shows us that part. Now pray that the Lord will show you this:
QUOTE
Look at Gen 29 : and see if you can see the spiritual lesson here:
Gen 29:10 And it came to pass, when Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mother's brother, and the sheep of Laban his mother's brother, that Jacob went near, and rolled the stone from the well's mouth, and watered the flock of Laban his mother's brother.
Gen 29:11 And Jacob kissed Rachel, and lifted up his voice, and wept.
QUOTE
Gen 29:16 And Laban had two daughters. The name of the elder was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel.
Gen 29:17 And Leah's eyes were tender. (WEAK) But Rachel was beautiful and well favored. (So Leah was not beautiful, nor well favoured)
Gen 29:18 And Jacob loved Rachel. And he said, I will serve thee seven years for Rachel thy younger daughter.
Gen 29:19 And Laban said, It is better that I give her to thee, than that I should give her to another man. Abide with me.
Gen 29:20 And Jacob served seven years for Rachel. And they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her.
Gen 29:21 And Jacob said unto Laban, Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may go in unto her.
Gen 29:22 And Laban gathered together all the men of the place, and made a feast.
Gen 29:23 And it came to pass in the evening, that he took Leah his daughter, and brought her to him. And he went in unto her.
Gen 29:24 And Laban gave Zilpah his handmaid unto his daughter Leah for a handmaid.
Gen 29:25 And it came to pass in the morning that, behold, it was Leah. And he said to Laban, What is this thou hast done unto me? Did not I serve with thee for Rachel? Wherefore then hast thou beguiled me?
Gen 29:26 And Laban said, It is not so done in our place, to give the younger before the first-born.
Gen 29:27 Fulfil the week of this one, and we will give thee the other also for the service which thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years.
Gen 29:28 And Jacob did so, and fulfilled her week. And he gave him Rachel his daughter to wife. Gen 29:29 And Laban gave to Rachel his daughter Bilhah his handmaid to be her handmaid.
Gen 29:30 And he went in also unto Rachel, and he loved also Rachel more than Leah, and served with him yet seven other years.
Now here is another witness, because the Bible teaches us that we must have at least two witnesses to establish anything.
QUOTE
Gen 48:14 And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim's head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh's head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the first-born. Gen 48:15 And he blessed Joseph, and said, The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God who hath fed me all my life long unto this day,
Gen 48:16 the angel who hath redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.
Gen 48:17 And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head unto Manasseh's head.
Gen 48:18 And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father; for this is the first-born; put thy right hand upon his head.
Gen 48:19 And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it. He also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: howbeit his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations. (That would be the Gentiles)
Now another one, where we see that the SECOND born was loved by God. I know this is making the hair of some stand on edge, but its in the Scriptures and not my own idea.

QUOTE
Gen 25:26 And after that came forth his brother, and his hand had hold on Esau's heel. And his name was called Jacob. And Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.
Gen 25:29 And Jacob boiled pottage. And Esau came in from the field, and he was faint.
Gen 25:30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage. For I am faint. Therefore was his name called Edom.
Gen 25:31
And Jacob said, Sell me first thy birthright. Gen 25:32 And Esau said, Behold, I am about to die. And what profit shall the birthright do to me?
Gen 25:33 And Jacob said, Swear to me first. And he sware unto him.
And he sold his birthright unto Jacob.
QUOTE
...............For they are not all Israel, that are of Israel:
Rom 9:7 neither, because they are Abraham's seed, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
Rom 9:8 That is, it is not the children of the flesh that are children of God; but the children of the promise are reckoned for a seed.
Who are God's children according to Scripture
(not oppinions).... it is not the children of the flesh that are children of God[/b];
but the children of the promise are reckoned for a seed. Remember Leah's eyes were weak? Mat 13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables;
because seeing they see not, and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
What does it say about the eyes of the bride?Son 4:1 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair;
Thine eyes are as doves behind thy veil. Thy hair is as a flock of goats, That lie along the side of mount Gilead.
She sees in the Spirit.Mat 3:16 ............. the Spirit of God descending as a dove,
Notice her eyes ARE as doves.Gen 29:18
And Jacob loved Rachel. where Jacob is a type of Jesus.
Gen 32:28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but
Israelwhat does Israel mean?

From H8280 and H410;
he will rule as God; (WHO do we know that rules as God?)
So you have always been first in the heart of God. The church is His love and we can only come to God through Jesus Christ. No other way is there, but Jesus. He evenwent to the OT people in the bossom of Abraham to preach the gospel to them and then He took them out to Paradise with Him.Eph 4:8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, And gave gifts unto men.
Eph 4:9 (Now this, He ascended, what is it but that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth?)
So they are Christians today as well. They accepted the gospel that Jesus preached to them.
The church has always been God's plan.
Later we can look at the "handmaidens" that both of these ladies had
