Full Version: Not Saved Until You Receive
Christian-Forum.net > General discussion > What do you say?
George
No one is saved until they receive the end of their faith the redemption of their souls By the Lord Himself. We go forward in this hope and in faith toward God. First repenting from dead works of the flesh that profit nothing. Then by doing what Christ said to do with our time here.

1 Peter 1
1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ,To the pilgrims of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
2 elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time
.
6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials,
7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,
8 whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,
9 receiving the end of your faith--the salvation of your souls.

1 Corinthians 4
5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one's praise will come from God.
6 Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up on behalf of one against the other.
7 For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?
8 You are already full! You are already rich! You have reigned as kings without us--and indeed I could wish you did reign, that we also might reign with you!

Hebrews 11
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Although one thinks in terms of completion of the salvation work in man, I can see that directives of scripture support the understanding that it becomes official "then" not "now...." Much like graduation day in the scholarly system... We may know we passed the test but we havn't really passed until we stand there and receive the scroll from the dean....

Phi 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Phi 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of [his] good pleasure.

If there was nothing to work out we would not be told there was....
