Greetings all:

I just wanted to share something that I've found yesterday as I had gotten home from work. After making an grocery round, and parking my truck in my apartment parking space, I've found an old rusted 1-inch nail in the back of my truck. My first thought was initially, "Oh I'd better get this before the kids find it and hurt themselves with it." Also there's another practical reason of not wanting the nail going into my tires as I've had found some doing that in the past. But something was telling me not to throw the nail away as I would have done so if it was any other day. But it was Good friday yesterday and after a while, I got to thinking about it, it had occur to me that God was trying to say something to me about the nail. Our sins had what "nailed" our Lord Joshua to the cross. But Joshua was resurrected on the third day and the nails are now old and rusted and we need not to sinned no more. That seems to be what I think that God is trying to say. I'm not really that good at elaborating things. I'm hoping that someone might have an better idea of what our Lord is saying. smile.gif

Wendy that is interesting about the nail...and your thoughts are well spoken.

I hang an old nail upon my Christmas tree, and ask my grandchildren to find it...when they do I tell them about JESUS and how he came to save us all from sin...it also reminds us of the true meanings of Christmas.

This Easter we did some neat things together...to learn more about JESUS.

My grandson's are still very little, but it is my prayers that they are absorbing everything about HIM...oneday to accept HIM as their Personal Savior!

Hang on to the nail and share the meaning behind it. Use it as a tool to show others the LOVE of CHRIST for them.

I was watching the Discovery channel some time ago and they found some nails they determined were used to crucify someone. Instead of being nailed thru the top of the feet like most paintings, these nails still had ankle bones attached to them. Indicating that the condemned had their feet nailed THRU their ankles to the side of the cross.

The scientists said that that would be excruciatingly painful and instead of dying by suffocation or exposure like is believed that the victims would die from shock from the pain. I don't know if it's how Jesus was crucifed but it certainly is possible. It makes you feel extremely humble knowing that he went thru that for us.

Greetings all:

Thank you Tigger and Duck for sharing your thoughts what God might be trying to say to me about the nail. I've certainly been blessed by it. I took the nail with me, wrapped up carefully in a tiny wraparound box and putting into my little wallet, when I had gone to see my folks. The next day I went to Mass (yes, in a catholic church) with my folks. During the ritual, I keep looking up instead toward the priest and during his sermon, I've held onto my wallet. The only time that I did speak at all was when they were reciting the Lord's prayer. I had felt at peace when I keep looking up, focusing on the hope of the promise that the Lord's resurrection had brought and praising and thanking God for it. You know, today, everytime I had asked people at work on how their easter was, I had felt somewhat profaned by uttering easter, since I now know the paganistic origins of the word 'easter'. It was rather odd. Anyway, I'm going to start thinking of it as "The Resurrection Day" instead. Hope everyone's Resurrection's Day went well. biggrin.gif

Sincerely yours,

Wendy
