A Door of Hope
By David Demian

In the last few weeks, I have had the chance to connect with hundreds of leaders across the nation. Not surprisingly, as we shared our hearts, I heard the same story repeated everywhere: an unprecedented attack of discouragement, disillusionment, loss of vision and a deep sense of isolationism. As we shared, prayed and discerned together, a clearer picture emerged of what we are facing at this time.

What Time Is It?
One of the most important things we need to realize right now is that we have entered into a very significant season of transition in the body of Christ. There is a shift taking place from the church age to the kingdom age. Everything we have known about “doing church” is about to be turned upside down. Religious structures and mindsets that have not been founded on the pure word of God are being uprooted and pulled down, so God can download new revelation, strategies and blueprints from heaven to see the establishment of His kingdom on earth. This shift is critical to the end-time preparation of a glorious Bride and our enemy, knowing that he cannot stop God’s eternal purposes, is doing all that he can to “change the set times and the laws” of God (Daniel 7:5). This strong spiritual dullness is meant to make us insensitive and unaware of the urgency of the hour. It is vital that at this time, we remain “self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.” 1 Peter 5:8-9

A Time of Pruning
Every transition in life brings some confusion because we find ourselves in a place where "what was is no more but what is to come is not yet". Before God can reveal to us what is to come, He has to prepare us by cutting off and freeing us from the forms, ways, and structures of “what was”. This is a pruning period that Jesus talked about in John 15 – where God draws us into deep intimacy/abiding with Him that He may deal with the unproductive areas in our lives so that the productive areas might become more fruitful. This process can be frightening because stripping away the familiar allows for a deep exposure of our hearts. We begin to see how much of our security and trust is in what we know and what we can control. This causes a deep purification of our faith as God calls us again to walk forward in simple obedience into the unknown, ensuring that our dependency is wholly and solely on Him.

Leaving the Old
This era of the church, especially in the Western world, has been one where we have lived like the inhabitants of fictional Narnia, without the rule of the Rightful King. We have battled hard but many times it seems we have suffered stinging defeats and disgrace at the hands of our enemy. And even when we have persevered and prevailed, our victories have often come with great personal cost and suffering.

Now the Lord is challenging us that we are entering into a new age. Aslan is on the move. Our King is rousing Himself like a Mighty Warrior and He is thundering at the head of His army. He will establish His Kingdom and His Dominion shall never end.

Our King is inviting us to enter into His kingdom with Him. But there is a catch…

Restoring Innocence
He called a little child and had him stand among them. And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:2-4

In the last few weeks God has been waking me up in the middle of the night to spend time with Him. For hours He has been taking me back through deep roots and deep issues of hurts and wounds in my life, things that go back even to my childhood. Miraculously He is freeing and delivering me. I feel a tenderness returning to my heart that I haven’t felt for years. Without realizing it, the years of battle upon battle, disappointment upon disappointment, betrayal upon betrayal, had taken a major toll on my heart. Yes I developed faith and perseverance along the way, but I also lost something very precious: my innocence. And this is what I believe the Lord wants to restore in this season

Circumcising Our Hearts
Before God released the children of Israel to begin the battle to possess their promises, their inheritance, the Lord told Joshua he must circumcise everyone who was born in the desert and not yet covenanted to the Lord in this way. When this was completed, the Lord said to Joshua:

"Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you." Josh 5:9

Reproach means disgrace, discredit, rebuke or disapproval. The circumcision was a visible reminder to them that the pain and shame of their years of bondage had been removed.

Today I believe we are in a season of grace where God is giving us the opportunity to undergo a deep circumcision of our hearts by the Spirit (Romans 2:29). God is jealous over His Bride and He wants to cut deeply the roots of bondage to hurts, to wounds, to fears, to the lies of the enemy, even to things we are not consciously aware of. He wants to take us back beyond our battles, back beyond our hurts and wounds to the place where we first fell in love with Him. As we are quieted by His love (Zephaniah 3:17), we will be able to enter into rest knowing that the battle really is the Lord’s and all He is asking us to do is walk with a childlike faith, trusting in His bigness, safe and secure in Him.

A Door of Hope
The Lord spoke to me this fall that this is a time of establishing and laying foundations. What we do in these next months will determine what authority we will walk with in the next two or three years. If we will yield ourselves fully to God’s pruning in this season, I believe we will receive a greater revelation of His love than we have ever experienced before. The Lord does not want us just to carry a message; He wants us to be the message. This is the most excellent way that Paul talked about in 1 Corinthians – following the way of love.

There is a portal opened in this season and the Lord Himself, is alluring us, wooing us tenderly into the desert, into the secret place with Him. There He promises to restore us, to make our deepest places of trouble and defeat into a door of hope and to restore our innocence as in the days of our youth.

"Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the desert
and speak tenderly to her. There I will give her back her vineyards,
and will make the Valley of Achor a door of hope.
There she will sing as in the days of her youth,
as in the day she came up out of Egypt. Hosea 2:14-15

"Throw Your Nets On The Other Side Of Reality – You're About To Quantum Leap"

"Look among the nations and watch — Be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days which you would not believe, though it were told you. (Habakkuk 1:5)

As I began to receive this word from the Lord it started with this exhortation regarding the statement above, "throw your nets on the other side of reality", making reference to the disciples in John 21:5-6 when Jesus said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some..." I suddenly realized that it was nothing to do with the boat or what part of the body of water that they were fishing in, what Jesus was pinpointing here was their PERCEPTION and UNDERSTANDING of who He was at that moment in time was incomplete. As they sat adrift in the boat Jesus to them was powerless and dead – suddenly in a twinkling of an eye He showed Himself able to do ALL THINGS for them RIGHT NOW as John the revelator exclaimed, "It is the Lord!" The greatest breakthroughs that are about to happen is our perceptions of Jesus and who He is and what He is capable of doing in us. The lifeless waters of our previous understanding that produced no fruit and left us with empty nets is suddenly going to be transformed as our understanding of His heart changes and "we all with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord…" (2 Cor 3:18)

So blind, so deaf, so dumb, so lame, so dead

(Thomas Brooks, "The Crown and Glory of Christianity,
or, HOLINESS, the Only Way to Happiness", 1662)

The holy Christian is the greatest miracle.

He can tell you that he was so blind--but now God
has given him eyes to see sin to be the greatest evil;
and Christ to be the choicest good.

He can tell you that once he was so deaf--that though
God called very often and very loudly to him--by His
word and by His works, by His rods at home and by
His judgments abroad, and by his Spirit and conscience,
which were still a-preaching in his bosom--sometimes life,
sometimes death, sometimes heaven, and sometimes hell
--yet he could not hear! But now God has given him a
hearing ear, so that now he can with delight hear the
sweet music of the promises on the one hand; and
with a holy trembling listen to the voice of divine
threatenings on the other hand.

He can tell you that once he was so dumb--that if he
might have had the whole world, he could not have
spoken a good word for God, nor for His ways, nor for
His people, nor for any of His concernments. Oh! but
now his tongue is as the pen of a ready writer--and
he is never better, than when he is a-speaking either
of God, or for God and His concerns. Now he can
contend for the faith, and speak for saints. And though
in some cases he may lack power to act for God--yet he
never lacks a tongue to speak for God. The spouse's lips
drop honeycombs in Canticles 4:11. Yes, his tongue now
becomes a tree of life, whose leaves are medicinal.

He can tell you that once he was so lame--that he was
not able to move one foot heaven-wards, nor Christ-wards,
nor holiness-wards, etc. But now his feet delight, not only
to go--but to run in all the ways of God's commands!

Yes, he can tell you that once he was so dead--as to all
his soul-concerns. But now he is alive, and the life that
he leads in the flesh, is by faith in the Son of God, who
has loved him and given Himself for him, Gal. 2:20.

It was by a miracle that the Red Sea was driven back;
and it is no less a miracle--to see a sinner who was
accustomed to do evil--now habituated to do good.

That the tide of sin, which before did run so strong
--should be so easily turned; that the sinner who, a
little before was sailing hellward, and lacked neither
wind nor tide to carry him there--should now suddenly
alter his course, and tack about for heaven--what a
miracle is this! To see . . .
an earthly man become heavenly,
a carnal man become spiritual,
a loose man become precise,
a proud man become humble,
a covetous man become liberal, and
a harsh man become meek, etc.,
is to behold the greatest of miracles!

4 PROPHECY: / Praise and Devotionals / THE NEED FOR SHEPHERDS AFTER GOD'S OWN HEART by Zac Poonen 4/7 on: Today at 05:08:31am

The Need for Shepherds After God's Own Heart
Zac Poonen
Apr 7 2007 12:00AM

"What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and has lost
one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open
pasture, and go after the one which is lost, until he finds
it...........There will be more joy in heaven over one
sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous persons
who need no repentance" (Lk.15:4,7).

It was not a goat that the shepherd went seeking. It was a
sheep - a sheep that had once been in the fold. This parable
refers to a born-again believer who has backslidden. But he
has not left the church in a spirit of rebellion. Like a
sheep, he went astray through carelessness. Perhaps he was
deceived. Perhaps, because of his weakness, he was
overpowered by attractions that proved to be too much for
him. The Good Shepherd goes after such a sheep UNTIL He
finds it. We who are under-shepherds must do the same. We
must go after those who have backslidden from the church
through carelessness, Satanic deception and their lusts.

One of the charges that the Lord made against the shepherds
of Israel, 600 years before the birth of Christ was this:

"The sheep that are sickly you have not strengthened, the
diseased you have not healed, the broken you have not bound
up, the scattered you have not brought back, nor have you
sought for the lost.....and they were scattered for lack of
a shepherd, and they became food for every beast of the
field and were scattered. My flock wandered through all the
mountains and on every high hill, and My flock was scattered
over all the surface of the earth; and there was no-one to
search or seek for them.........Behold I am against these
shepherds .......Behold I Myself will search for My sheep
and seek them out.......I will deliver them from all the
places to which they were scattered on a cloudy and gloomy
day" (Ezek.34:1-12).

Many sheep are lost on a cloudy and gloomy day - a day when
they are discouraged and depressed by the pressure of some
trial or sorrow that proves to be too much for them. The
Lord says that He will seek for such sheep and bring them
back. He seeks for them through "shepherds after His own
heart" (Jerem.3:15). It must be the longing of all of us in
the church - both brothers and sisters - to be shepherds
after God's own heart, who can seek out the many lost sheep
around us today.

There are many who are ready to criticise and condemn such
sheep saying that they should not have wandered so close to
the edge of the cliff, or that they should have stayed in
the midst of the flock and not wandered off by themselves
seeking other pastures, or that they should not have
listened to the voices of the false shepherds, etc., etc.,
There is no dearth of specialists who are ready to give an
accurate analysis of the reasons for the backsliding of
these sheep. What is sadly lacking is shepherds after God's
own heart who will go after these lost sheep and bring them
back to the fold. This is the great need in the church
today.

There are two types of leaders in the church too. The good
ones are like shepherds and fathers. The self-seeking ones
are like hirelings and tutors. It is by our attitude towards
backsliders that we can discern which category we fit in to.

Just like true shepherds are rare in the church, true
fathers are rare too. Just like hirelings abound on every
hand, teachers who seek their own, abound too. Why? Because
it is easier to be a hireling than to be a shepherd, and it
is easier to be a teacher in the church than a father. It
costs heart-pain and burden and battling in prayer against
the wolves and the roaring adversaries, if we are to be
fathers and shepherds. And most people don't want to pay
such a price to serve the Lord or to build the church. Most
people try to build the church cheaply.

Paul, as a true father to the failing, carnal Corinthian
Christians, told them, "I do not want to shame you. Even if
you have countless teachers in Christ, yet you do not have
many fathers. In Christ Jesus I became your father" (1
Cor.4:14,15).

The father (in Jesus' parable) did not put his repentant son
on probation for six months. Nor did he make him live in the
servant's quarters. No. He believed in him, and had hope for
him. "Love believes all things and hopes all things" (1
Cor.13:7) A true father will never, never shame his children
or reveal their faults to others, even when they backslide.
Teachers in schools and colleges however rejoice to make
their students' follies known to others. By our attitude
towards the faults and failings of others, we can know
whether we are fathers or teachers.

The Lord is looking for true fathers and shepherds in the
church.

In the mid 1970's, Ed Roberts created the world's first commercially
successful personal computer (PC). He hired a 19 year old named Bill
Gates to write software for him.

Roberts sold his computer business in 1977 and bought a farm. Seven
years later, at age 41, he entered medical school. Today Bill gates is the head of the largest computer software company in the world. Ed
Roberts is a physician in a small Georgia town.

Roberts says, "The implication is that the PC is the most important
thing I've ever done, and I don't think that's true. Every day I deal
with things that are equally if not more important here with my
patients."

How can we evaluate the significance of our lives? Something deep inside tells us such a thing cannot be measured by wealth and fame.

As we look at the apostle Paul's turbulent life, it seems noteworthy
that he approached the end with a peaceful sense of successful
completion. He wrote, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." (2 timothy 4:7) Paul looked confidently not to the world but to "the Lord, the righteous Judge" for approval and reward (vs .

Since sooner than later we'll face our creator,
Whose gaze pierces through to the heart,
Let's make sure our dreams, our goals and grand schemes
Have Christ in our plans from the start.

Prayer Alert Robin Paisley Apr 5, 2007

Hey Guys;
I am sending out a quick prayer alert/request regarding a dream I had early this morning about tainted baby food. I heard the name 'Enlow' 'cover our babies in prayer' and I then I heard 'from dog food to baby food' then a picture of baby food being tainted with poison.

When I woke up I kept hearing 'protect the innocent.' Very recently in the news we know that many people have lost their pets due to tainted dog food, so let us just cover our babies world wide in prayer. I do not know what the name Enlow has to do with babies or baby food but felt led to include the whole dream. I am reminded in my spirit of when King Pharaoh issued a decree to kill all male babies and Moses for his safety was sent in a basket down the river. (Exodus 1,2)
Blessings, Robin Paisley

April 7, 2007 (English y en Espanol-al final). Plumbline. You are aware that things have not been going well. It is time to come before Me and inquire. I tell you the enemy always attacks when he senses great and impending blessings. Do not ever forget that his purposes concerning you are to kill, steal and destroy. His food is the sin in your life for which you have not sought forgiveness and cleansing. That sin gives him access and authority (ground) to attack you. Here are my instructions. Take heed, lest you fall. Self examination is essential. Commit again to walking in My integrity? Without a plumbline to establish and maintain integrity in what you are building, it will eventually fall or at the very least, never reach peak performance. Be quick to repent. Set things right and true. Plumbline.

Proverbs 20:7 "The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him."

YOUR WORTH IS NOT IN YOUR NATURAL AND SPIRITUAL GIFTS

www.thequickenedword.com

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Beloved one, the strength and value of your worth is not in the natural and spiritual gifts that you give. They do not define you. All that you do and all that you are in life is measured by your love. Your life has been filled with love and it has been passed down to generations who are following in your footsteps. Dear one, your gift is your legacy of love. You have chosen the greatest gift and spent everything you had to give it away.

Song 8:7 NKJV

Many waters cannot quench love, Nor can the floods drown it. If a man would give for love all the wealth of his house, it would be utterly despised.

Make every effort to stay on track. Your life experience at this time will demand that your focus of attention not deviate from what you have been given to do. So you must guard against all forms of distraction. The days ahead will require concentration. You must not stress over this requirement, but rather narrow your vision until you have accomplished what is set before you. At the end of this period of time your vision will once again be expanded and your focus will widen, says the Lord. .As they sat adrift in the boat Jesus to them was powerless and dead – suddenly in a twinkling of an eye He showed Himself able to do ALL THINGS for them RIGHT NOW as John the revelator exclaimed, "It is the Lord!"
