Some of you know that the Lord has given me a great burden to help support orphans in both India & Africa. I've begun efforts to gather support and send it where it is needed. I'm not soliciting any support with this post, but I'm informing you of both my and Cindy's current dirctions in ministry.

Since the year started by God's grace we've raised approximately $1,744.00 to meet specific needs. Some was through donations, and $500 was raised by auction of a Laurel's painting on e-bay.

We also currently host a pastor and his wife and two sons from north India at our home in New Orleans, though they are not being supported by us. They're here to raise funds to pay off their church mortgage and build a facility to house orphans. Their names are Jagan & Daisy Mohan and their sons Franklin and Samuel. They are not affiliated with the before mentioned orphanages. We are also looking to help support another Indian orphanage, also not affiliated with any of the above.

This has been underway for some time but what has prompted this post is that the founder of the ministry (based in Gloucester, England) that has helped found several of the Indian orphanages and the African orphanage is Dr. Alison June Brown of River of Life Ministries and Sunday morning she was interviewed by a BBC affiliate station regarding her work and her book that she wrote about her missions work with her son.

I met Dr. Brown online while seeking to verify the River of Life Orphanage in southern India. Through our correspondence I've learned of the other works that she helped found. She and her son have labored to provide for Tsunami and AIDS and war (and from other causes as well) orphans on two continents.

I hope that you will take a few minutes to listen to the interview which may be heard for this week only on the following link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/mainframe.s...loucester.shtml

After you click the link; 1)Scroll down and click on Sunday breakfast. 2)Click the 15mins forward button until the time you see gets to about 20:00:00. It starts out at 18:00:00 Then click the 5mins forward button once. You should be at about 20:06:00 or so. The interview starts at about 20:06:30. It last about 15 minutes (there is a song in the middle of the interview. You may hit the 5mins forward button to bypass the song). You may listen while surfing the net.

It is amazing what one person can do when there is determination to make a difference.

I am also very involved in a local church with a local radio broadcast and a nursing home ministry, as well as a separate tent prayer ministry and various aspects of street ministry. We have a weekly bible study with our Indian guests and others also.

If anyone would like to speak with me at any of the above feel free. You may pm me. I'd love just to hear from you.

God bless and may his grace & peace be yours, David & Cindy Johnson

I don't believe that they do Miki. The pastor ia a dirt poor man of God who oversees the orphanage and does the work of the ministry without compensation. They are in dire need. The children are mostly orphaned from the Somali war. They have about 60 children in a tin building in a slum city with only 1 small cold water pipe, and 2 latrine ditches. It is too dangerous for the children to play outside. They have a piece of land to build the school/orphanage on with room for the kids to play but they need the funds to build it, about $22,000 USD. Imagine building an 8 room school/orphanage for that. But it might as well be a million dollars unless God moves on hearts to get behind it.

My Church is building one in Brazil...Only there's no tin roof over their heads right now...only the street life.
It will cost 30,000...We went down last summer and will return again in August...It's slow progress.

Lord pour out the funds to that man caring for those children...touch the hearts of all who know about him...Including the local governments...In Jesus name.
