Statue Of Liberation Unveiled At Memphis Church

July 5, 2006 05:08 AM PDT

Memphis- Drivers cruising through the intersection of Kirby and Winchester can't help but notice the 72 foot tall statue. And that's exactly what church leaders at World Overcomers Outreach Ministries in Hickory Hill want to happen.

"I want them to think about their relationship with the Lord," said Apostle Alton Williams.

The statue is drapped in the traditional Statue of Liberty robe. But there is nothing traditional about the tablet in the statue's left hand stapled with a Bible verse. The space left will soon be filled with numerals representing the ten commandments. The torch is replaced with a huge cross. On the crown, the word "Jehovah."

Church leaders call it the "Statue of Liberation."

"It is intended to combine Christianity with patriotism, which is the love of the country," said Apostle Williams.

Many of those who suffered through the hot temperatures to witness history are hoping the statue will change recent history in Memphis.

"This is unity here today. If we had more of this maybe we would be able to conquer crime," said Karen Humphreys.

Of course, there are some who feel the church is overstepping its boundaries in a big way, mixing religion with a government symbol. Others say they feel the statue forces religion on them and some say it's just simply too big.

"All we want to do is call attention to the fact that America belongs to God, and America needs to come back to him," said Apostle Williams.

"It is intended to combine Christianity with patriotism, which is the love of the country," said Apostle Williams.

No man can serve two masters.
We cannot stand in two kingdoms at the same time.
Patriotism does not mix with Christianity.
Come out of the world, you are not of the world. The reason why you are in Island , or the US or me in SA, is that , that is where God has placed you , so you can do , whatever it is that He wants you to do.Not so you can be part of a country, because you do not belong to yourselves, you were bought at a price. You belong to Him now.

2Cor.3:18) But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord the Spirit.
If your face is truly unveiled you will accept what happened at the cross and see by faith the finished work of Christ in the mirror. Only in this walk of faith are we “transformed into the same image”.

THE STATUE OF LIBERTY

The Statue of Liberty in New York harbour was presented in 1884 as a gift from the French Grand Orient Temple Masons to the Masons of America in celebration of the centenary of the first Masonic Republic.

She is holding the Masonic "Torch of Enlightenment". Also referred to back in the 1700's by the Illuminati Masons as the "Flaming Torch of Reason". The Torch represents the "Sun" in the sky.

The Statue of Liberty's official title is, "Liberty Enlightening the World".

The cornerstone of the statue records how it was laid in a Masonic ceremony (see plaque photo above).

THE TORCH SYMBOL

Illuminati means to "bare light" one way to symbolize this is by carrying a torch. A torch sits on top of the Statue of Liberty, on top of JFK's grave, and on top of the tunnel where Princess Diana was killed.

Best selling author, Robert Bauval:

"The cornerstone for the Statue of Liberty was placed in a solemn ceremony in 1884 organised by the Masonic lodges of New York.

The Statue of Liberty, which was designed by the French sculptor Bartholdi and actually built by the French Engineer, Gustave Eiffel (both well-known Freemasons), was not originally a ‘Statue of Liberty’ at all, but first planned by Bartholdi for the opening of the Suez Canal in Egypt in 1867.

Bartholdi, like many French Freemasons of his time, was deeply steeped in ‘Egyptian’ rituals, and it has often been said that he conceived the original statue as an effigy of the goddess Isis, and only later converted it to a ‘Statue of Liberty’ for New York harbour when it was rejected for the Suez Canal."

The goddess Isis is known by many names, including Juno.

To place a cross into the hands of a goddess , I don't think so.
