However, I am convinced that all the bible speaks about Jesus either as a direct prophecy, or indirectly. And I believe that this is how the apostles saw it too. Else, how could Matthew quote the prophet Hosea thus:

very interesting Shekel.

It probably merits a whole new thread.

Not sure of your point here, Simple.

But I agree, the other topic is vast so we will save that for another day.

Tell me what you mean by the above verses?

Well maybe I am only seeing something myself that is obvious to others, but the fall of Babylon
is not to be confused with the destruction of the strong delusion when Christ returns.

2Th 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

After the fall of Babylon, there is a period prior to Christ's return.

James prophecies the fall of Babylon.

Jam 5:1 ¶ Go to now, [ye] rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon [you].
2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.
3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.
4 Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.
5 Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.
6 Ye have condemned [and] killed the just; [and] he doth not resist you.
7 ¶ Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

But he also tells the brethren to be patient, after the fall of Babylon.

This is clearer in Revelation 14 where we see the saints dying prior to Christ's judgement day, but after the fall of Babylon.

Rev 14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive [his] mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
12 Here is the patience of the saints: here [are] they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed [are] the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

The judgement of Babylon comes 'in one hour', which is also the period of time the ten horns rule with the beast.
So effectively when the beast overthrows the whore of Babylon, and then rules for an hour, it means that Babylon
falls, and then there is a period of 'one hour' where the beast kingdom rules, and then Christ returns and destroys
all.

To which i would add, that if Babylon represents a period in which the Church is in captivity,
(as Israel was held captive in Babylon),

then the fall of Babylon would usher in a period in the wilderness.

Since an hour is 1/24 of a day, and a day =1000 years,

then 1 hour would equal approximately 40 years.

40 years being of course, the wilderness experience.

I can see what you are saying up to the 40-years.

I think that it stretching it, unless there is a sense of dual fulfillment, namely that the "one hour" represents a short period of time within a literal 3.5-year period, as well as on the day=1000 years level.

Awesome sign Dean..That's the first thing that popped into my mind was the desire for grace extended...Are we the last generation? I was born in 48..will my generation see all those things prophesied come to pass? I believe we will..I believe we will because the extended string of signs l've seen in my own life..the explosion of knowledge and the fact that evil has proliferated to the max..or it seems like it.

I'm not trying to argue,, but,, I'm legitimately curious.

If we're claiming that Israel becoming a nation is the Fig tree deal. And everyone born in 48 ain't gonna die before the Lord returns,, What are we going to do or say if your generation passes? How could that prophecy possibly be translated?
