Miracle" Worker Hanging Up His Pilot's Hat

AP Geese can finally come out of their hiding places -- the hero of the skies is calling it a day.

Capt. Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, the US Airways pilot who deftly touched his lame jetliner down in the Hudson River in January fof last year, announced his retirement Wednesday.

“Thirty years ago last Thursday, I began my airline career. I have been fortunate to have followed my passion for most of my life, working in a profession I dearly love, side by side with thousands of wonderful colleagues, including the man flying my final flight with me, Jeff Skiles," he said in a statement.

Sullenberger, 59, joined US Airways' predecessor airline in 1980.

Flight attendant Doreen Welsh, who was also on Flight 1549 when it landed in the Hudson, is also retiring. Welsh, 59, joined US Airways' predecessor airline in 1970.

“Each generation of pilots hopes that they will leave their profession better off than they found it. In spite of the best efforts of thousands of my colleagues, that is not the case today," the pilot wrote.

“Though I am retiring, I will continue to serve as the same kind of advocate I have always been – not only for aviation safety, but for the airline piloting profession. I will work to remind the entire industry – and those who manage and regulate it – that we have a sacred duty to our passengers to do the very best that we know how to do.”

What happened on January 15, 2009 become known forevermore as the Miracle on the Hudson. After a collision with a flock of birds disabled the aircraft's engines, Capt. Sullenberger ditched his plane in the river, averting catastrophe and saving the lives of all 150 passengers on board.

Since that famous flight last year, Sullenberger has testified before Congress regarding pilot safety, given speeches about education and written a book, "Brace for Impact."

He became a member of US Airways' flight operations safety management team last September.

Sullenberger will fly his final flight to his home base at Charlotte (N.C.) Douglas International Airport Wednesday afternoon. He will officially retire at a private ceremony there with fellow pilots and other US Airways employees.

Capt. James Ray, a spokesman for the US Airline Pilots Association, which represents US Airways pilots, said that Sullenberger plans to spend more time with his family in retirement. He will also continue to talk to lawmakers about raising minimum qualifications for pilots and work to lower the maximum number of hours pilots are able to work in a single day, Ray said.

Commentary
I have been watching for months the legalization of homosexual marriage in Washington, DC. Yesterday, was the first day, sodomites could "legally be married" in the nation's Capital. This put a dread in me as this act creates an Ordinance of the Amorites and brings God's judgment to America. Congress oversees Washington and did nothing to stop this. Throughout America the vast number of preachers and Christians seemed oblivious to this or maybe could care less.
Because the "sodomite marriage" was in the nation's Capital I thought the judgment might touch the entire nation. After months of budget cuts today was the day of massive protest on colleges across the nation. If you have been reading this blog, I have been warning the budget cuts are going to cause social unrest. I have been watching California very closely on this blog. There have been some minor protests in the last few months, but TODAY is the very day of massive nationwide protest with the largest in California. Some of the protest were violent.
The economy is not getting better, so the protests are going to get more widespread and violent. I believe that today could be the point of no return for social unrest in America. Marrying homosexuals in Washington, DC maybe the point of no return for America with the Holy God of Israel.
The protesting students and teachers that I watched on the news could easily turn to anarchy. They lived in fantasy about taxes and the cost of education. I saw signs and heard them say "tax the rich." This easily could turn into class warfare. The colleges are a hotbed for the Hard Left reprobates along with becoming pro Islamic and Jew haters. The US universities are a witches brew of God haters and rebellion against God's word. The education system in America might be the very first to come under judgment. God's judgments are ALWAYS just and come after a long time trying to turn a nation to repentance.

Ghana was incredible in so many ways and a landmark for this ministry. It was a landmark in that I have never seen so many Muslims publicly pray to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior! Friends, when I preach the gospel I do not try to see how many people I can manipulate into holding up their hands and saying a prayer. On the contrary I tell them that it is hard to follow Jesus and requires turning away from other religions, false gods, and our own sinful ways. Even after this many Muslims prayed to receive Jesus wearing Muslim hats and tunics!
We were at a wonderful Baptist hospital in the North of Ghana that is the only medical care within 100 miles and is in the predominantly Muslim part of Ghana. They serve all and yet openly state their purpose is to reach those in this area with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Please pray for the Baptist Medical Center in that the American doctors are coming home, one family after 20 years of service, and the hospital desperately needs doctors. We also worked with churches in the area to edify and challenge them to go out with the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ! Commentary
Right now the earth is shaking. It has really been shaking since last summer, as I have documented on this blog. The earth is shaking at the same time the Middle East is getting ready for the big war. It appears as the nations come against Israel, the LORD is going to shake the world from one end to the other. It is NO accident the earth is shaking and the Muslim nations are getting ready for an attempt to destroy Israel.
I know that ALL the major earthquakes in America since the World Series quake of 1989 have been on the very day of an abortion, homosexual or dividing the land of Israel event. I have documented this connection on my blog and in my books. I can only follow what is happening in the United States, so I cannot pinpoint any direct correlation with what was happening in Haiti or Chile.

Commentary
There are lots of articles with good information about Israel and what is happening in the Middle East. More talk of war as the United States said Israel has the right to attack Lebanon because it is allowing Hezbollah to arm! There is talk of this war being religious which it is from the Arab point of view. But, now Israel is starting to look at it this way! I believe this war is going to start in Jerusalem over the Temple Mount and then end with Armageddon in Jerusalem.

Commentary
The Pacific Ring of Fire has had massive earthquakes in the last few years. Starting late last summer there was a great increase in the number of 6.0 earthquakes all around the Ring of Fire. It is just a matter of time until a massive quake hits the San Andreas fault as it is part of the Ring of Fire. ALL the major western earthquakes since 1989 have hit on the very day homosexual or abortion events and/or bullying Israel to divide the land. As America continues to push these sins on a nation level, it is clear to me that the "Big One" is going to hit directly on one of these events. God has warned and warned but the church is not listening never mind the world.

Commentary
There are more and more powerful earthquakes occurring more frequently. Haiti was just a few weeks ago and now Chile. There was a powerful 7.1 quake off Japan just two days ago. There has been one massive snow storm after another on the East Coast with a powerful one just yesterday in New England.
I have detailed what is going on with these massive earthquakes and how the intensity and frequency have greatly increased since last summer. Something really big is going on as the earth seems to be shaking. I think this is all warnings from the LORD that huge judgments are on the way. I just posted an article two days ago about most the world's major cities are sitting right on huge faults! Also remember that these huge earthquakes in the Pacific are weakening the San Andreas fault.
I posted more articles about Israel and one in particular is very important. It is the one that quotes Arab editorials about the coming Middle East war. It is a real eye opener.
I posted several articles about Islam to show how Islam is on the rampage all over the world. Every day I could post articles like these. I want to keep your attention just what it is like to live under Islam and not the sugar coated nonsense that is being passed as Islam in America.

Commentary
General Alexander Haig was a great friend of Israel and his actions during the 1973 war saved Israel. President Nixon froze as Israel was being destroyed. Haig was his Chief-of-staff and on his own released the supplies to Israel. This enabled Israel to repulse the Arab armies and go on the offensive. The general was a true American hero and great friend of Israel. How General Alexander Haig saved Israel I highly recommend the book Secret War Against The Jews by John Loftus which goes into great detail about General Haig's actions to save Israel. This book is just loaded with tremendous information about the history of the Jews in the Twentieth Century.
The Middle East is a very dangerous right now. All sides are preparing for war. Israel made some biblical sites into Israeli historical sites. These sites are in the "West Bank." The Arabs and the world are very upset about this. Some rioting has started in Hebron. "Meanwhile, a violent demonstration by dozens of Palestinian protesters in Hebron against the heritage list decision ended on Friday evening. The protesters hurled rocks at IDF troops and Border Police forces near the Jewish quarter in the city, and security forces were using non-lethal weapons to disperse the rioters. One protester was arrested, Army Radio reported. Forces in Hebron had been on heightened alert, preparing for the possibility of continued rioting in the city. Officials were concerned that violence would escalate following sermons during Friday prayers in the city’s mosques."
