1Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition
Doesn't this scripture say that the antichrist must be revealed before our gathering together unto Jesus? Where have we gotten the belief that we are to go before he is revealed? So many Christians believe we are going soon and when it doesn't happen could this then be the falling away? I have been studying prophesy and came across this because I too have been thinking that the rapture happens before the antichrist is revealed and now I don't know how our belief of the rapture happening before the antichrist is revealed came into existence. Can anyone show me scripture on this? Psalm 108 states that the beloved will be delivered and psalm 108 is believed to be the year 2008. So based on that I believe the church of philadelphia is the beloved. Then in psalm 109 it talks of satan which many believe that the antichrist will be revealed in 2009. I am wanting to go so bad but I have to look at scripture and see what it says. So then the main rapture would be Sep 19, 2009 not this year except for the church of philadelphia. My mind is tired right now so maybe this is a dumb question!
Thessalonians 2:1-3 rapture after antichrist is revealed?

hi leslie
i don't have much time now to reply.. besides, my thoughts are irrelevent.. but i just wanted to say, this is the verse also, that cause me to wonder I believed in a pretrib rapture..
I am reading Foxe's Book of Martyrs.. and can't help but wonder.. if the Lord did not deliver them, why? or what in the "christian church of today" makes us more worthy than they to escape persecution that must come?
*shrugging shoulders*
hang in there, girl.. trust in HIM .. because HE IS Faithful!!
Love,
Cheryl

hi cheryl
From my studies it will still be a pretrib rature. The psalms point to the end of the year of 2010 for tribulation to begin. There are still events that must happen before trib even begins. Damascus destroyed, magog war, antichrist revealed in 2009, the 2 witnesses must appear at passover in 2010 before trib begins. Elijah comes before the day of the Lord. The church will be gone before trib except those who repent after the rapture and will be martyred. Remember it is only an hour that Jesus said would be on the church for persecution.
I too have read Foxes book of martyrs it is so tragic what people can do to people!
God bless!

your question is not dumb!!! get that thought out of your mind!!!
seek ye shall find
you are correct
if there was a rapture(and it is not) it would be after the GT and the man of sin would have t be revealed first.
as far as Psalm 108 nightmare is correct. where?
1: O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.
2: Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.
3: I will praise thee, O LORD, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.
4: For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds.
5: Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth;
6: That thy beloved may be delivered: save with thy right hand, and answer me.
7: God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.
8: Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;
9: Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe; over Philistia will I triumph.
10: Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?
11: Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our hosts?
12: Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.
13: Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.
