PROPHECY: THE BIBLE HAS NO EQUALS

Foretelling the future was not the sole domain of the Jewish prophets. The Old Testament prophets instructed the Jews regarding doctrine and moral matters. Many times they were not well received due to people not wanting to turn from their error. In addition to this, they warned of future judgement or provided assurance to the Jewish people that God would take care of them. In this latter regard, foretelling the future played a part. Sometimes people listened to the prophets and judgement was avoided. Sometimes they did not and judgement came according to what the prophets foretold.

The law said if a prophet spoke words that were not doctrinally correct (worship another God) or if their prophecies did not come true they were put to death.

Many people are unaware that no book or person has ever remotely compared to the Bible in terms of foretelling the future in terms of specificity, numbers of prophecies, or accuracy of prophecy. We will take a look at non-Bible pyschics and mediums first and then show the amazing accuracy of Bible prophets (a true prophet is correct 100% of the time).

BIBLE PROPHETS VERSUS NON-BIBLE MEDIUMS/PSYCHICS

Brookside Church in Ohio states the following regarding the Bible's laws regarding prophets and the accuracy of modern day psychics as reported by a recent study:

"A true prophet is correct 100% of the time. A test of a prophet was whether they prophesied an event that did not come to pass. Prophets whose predictions failed to come to pass were stoned [It should be said that some prophecies were conditional. For example, if a certain people did not repent then they would suffer judgement.] Some prophecies w. People would think twice before revealing any kind of prophecy. Yet the Bible contains more prophecy about Jesus than any other book on any other founder of ancient religion.

Today there are people who claim to have psychic power. In 1975, The People's Almanac did a study of 25 of the best psychics. Out of 72 predictions, 66 (92%) were totally wrong. The remaining 8% could be explained away."

Here is my favorite Bible prophecy resource on the internet and it is an examination of fulfilled Bible prophecy in terms of probability:

Kendemyer,

You jumped from Old Testament prophets and their 100% accuracy to ....

"NON-BIBLE MEDIUMS/PSYCHICS" What about NT?

Are you saying without saying it that any one who prophesies after the old Testament and isn't 100% accurate should be stoned. If you are then Agabus should have been stoned as a false prophet.

Paul heard what Agabus had to say but said that's ok, l'm going anyway because my calling is higher than my trials. Forwarned is forarmed...

I guess what l'm saying is that the way you posted it makes it seem like you think the Prophetic ended with the establishment of the Church that took place in the first 100/200 years after Christ. Is this what you are saying?
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one.
John 10: 27-30

TO: Miki

I don't think NT prophets should have been stoned if their prophecies were not accurate because Christians are not under the Mosaic Law which said to do that (Deuteronomy 13:5).

Second, I think all of Agabus's prophecies came true.

I cite:

Quote

Both times, Agabus prophesied, and both times, because he was a true prophet of God, what he said would happen, happened.

Lastly, I do think that there are godly prophets today. I believe this because what the Bible says:

Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

Ephesians 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Thank you Kendemyer,

Good timing!

I've used the study you provided in that link before. I really like that one.
I'd forgotten about it.

It also provided me with details l hadn't noticed before.

Every jot and tiddle about the Agabus Prophecy has been dissected but l believe he spoke truly too. His errors were arguable.

And l really like this!

Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Have a great day in the Lord...
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one.

The NT people and events are the FULFILLMENT of the OT.

The NT events were PREDICTED by the OT prophecies.

This is one of the GREAT PROOFS that the Bible is TRUE (only God can predict the future like the Bible indicates).

My point is:
Where in the OT does it PREDICT that:

some of the 10 israeli tribes would go to America, before Christ?
and Christ would appear to them after His Resurrection?
and Moroni , an angel, would dictate the BOOK OF MORMON to Joseph Smith? in the 19th century AD?
and a Temple would be built in Utah?
and non-Levi priests would claim to serve at this OT Temple, before Christ, in America, while the OTHER TEMPLE, in jerusalem, has Levi priests?
Doesn't the OT say that there should be ONLY one temple in the world, at jerusalem?
and a GREAT BATTLE, killing 2 million Israelis would be fought 1400 years ago, in America (Hill Cuoumo , in New York).
