http://www.christian...s...&hl=custody

A few months ago, I posted the above prayer request regarding my husband's custody hearing. At the last minute it was changed, and I didn't update my request when the new hearing date arrived. We had the hearing on Nov 30, and found out Friday that the judge granted my husband's request for custody. :D We live in the deep south and it is very hard to convince a judge that the kids should move from their mother, especially after 9 years. But they were not in a good environment and we wanted to raise them in a Godly home. Thank you, Lord, for answering our prayers! Help us to raise them to fear you and keep your commandments.
I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath! -Psalm 116:1-2

Tell the righteous it will be well with them- Isaiah 3:10

The secret of the sweet, satisfying companionship of the Lord have they who fear Him, and He will show them His covenant and reveal to them its deep, inner meaning. Psalm 25:14

"For My blood shall be the Water of Life unto thee, at that time, and not to thee alone, but unto all those of thy seed who shall believe in Me; that it be unto them for rest for ever." from The First Book of Adam & Eve

It helped me to go and look at your original post and see the situation that the children were in. May God bless you both and grant you wisdom as you raise them.

May God heal their broken hearts, and stop the bleeding that has been going on for near a decade. May God both heal, restore, and make whole. Amen!

My husband is seeking custody of his 13 year old daughter and 11 year old son. The hearing before the judge is this Wednesday. Although he has an excellent case, and is clearly better able to parent and provide a stable, loving, Godly home than the mother, we live in the deep south and we have heard from every one we talk to that judges around here don't really care who is best. The mom automatically gets the children.

She has moved them 11 times in 9 years. They have been in 5 different school systems. She has been married 4 times since divorcing my husband, and that doesn't include boyfriends she did not marry. Her current husband is fresh out of rehab for drugs and he also has a rape history. He raped a girl the same age as my step daughter. Neither of them work- they live solely off child support, HUD, food stamps and medicaid.

My husband built our house with his own two hands on his own land. We live near all of his family and relatives. We can provide a strong support system for those kids. We both work hard, and want to teach our kids family values and biblical principles. They have their own rooms, the house is kept clean, and orderly-not the filth they are used to with their mom.

Yet, the kids still want to stay with their Mom-it is all they've ever known.

My husband and I and his lawyer are the only 3 people who think we have a chance. Everyone else says we are fighting a losing battle.

But, I serve a God who is able. I serve a righteous judge who can impress on the heart of any earthly judge.

Please pray for us for the next 3 days. We want God's will for us and the children.

Is there an update? I just saw this thread. Is there still a specific need for prayer?

PRAISE the LORD for the judges favor. May the LORD BLESS your family, and may your children, grow in HIS LOVE.
John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Psalms 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Matthew 18:35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

REDEEMED and FORGIVEN! PRAISE the LORD!

Doing the LORD'S WORK is more important than personal gain. (See Ezra 5:1-5 and Haggai 1.) If the LORD is doing a WORK, I want to be serving HIM in it.

Do you know JESUS? HE's my BEST FRIEND.

Psalms 118:26 Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.

May the LORD bless you always, Susan
