I work in Financial Aid at a college. Often times I speak to people who are very desperate financially. Some are waiting for verification paper work to process and can't afford rent just waiting for the Financial aid to be approved.

In the last week I have encouraged two different women by reminding them that they have a Heavenly Father in Heaven who loves them.

Both of them nearly broke down in tears and thanked me.

One student told me that the Lord was the only One keeping her going.

good for you
faithful sister
I too minister to da youts
at a CC
I do it from the kitchen.

Happy Belated B-day.
God's grace to you everyday.
I know the homeschooling can be a wild ride sometimes, too.
Expect a season of refreshing as you give comfort to others.
A well of living water. :1dsz5e4:
And God is able to make all grace abound unto you; that ye, having always all sufficiency in everything, may abound unto every good work:

Thank you so much for your encouragement.

A season of refreshing sounds so wonderful it nearly brings tears to my eyes.

Homeschooling as a single mother is very challenging, but my son and daughter have benifited so much from it. My son graduated H.S. and is full time college at age 16. My daughter is working very hard too. She often comes to the college with us so she is not home alone.

Thank you so much!

I used to work in the financial aid dept too at a college I went to. I did the same thing.

Now I work in insurance, and it is not a matter of someone waiting on their student loans so they can pay their tuition and books....

but now its a matter of someone not being able to go to the doctor because they can't pay for their deductable or they get stuck with a bill because of something that is under their plan exclusions or they are denied due to pre-x.

I have spoken to a few, and I can usually tell if they are believers from the language they use. Either way, whether they are believers or not... I always try to bring encouragement to them, and tell them I will do whatever I can to help them.

That usually calms them down. Most of the time, I privately pray for them though.

It's the ones who really do not know the Lord who need the most help anyway. ;)

We had one guy threaten to kill all of us bi_ _ _ es because he was refused to have his Viagra refilled. (I want to laugh, but I won't)

He got arrested for the threat. Charges were dropped when he apologized.

Anyway... I agree there are many hurting people out there.

The thing is... I have a limited amount of sympathy.
Many times, these individuals can avoid half of their problems if they would just follow through with what is being asked of them.

If they fail at that due to mental illness, then I can have more compassion.

Romans 11:17-22

If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, do not boast over those branches.

If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.

You will say then, "Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in."

Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid.

For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.

Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off.

Wonderful TESTIMONY! Thanks so much for sharing this, Miche. When I worked, I often would minister to others on the job. Somehow, GOD made a way, for me to do that. I'm so happy, knowing you have touched some lives, for HIS GLORY!

John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Psalms 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Matthew 18:35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

REDEEMED and FORGIVEN! PRAISE the LORD!

'To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.' When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better. 'The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.' ~ Unknown

Doing the LORD'S WORK is more important than personal gain. (See Ezra 5:1-5 and Haggai 1.) If the LORD is doing a WORK, I want to be serving HIM in it.

Do you know JESUS? HE's my BEST FRIEND.

Psalms 118:26 Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.

May the LORD bless you always, Susan
